American dollars going to ‘garbage causes’: Eyebrows raised at USAID’s ‘usefulness’

- Newsweek Senior Editor-At-Large Josh Hammer has questioned the “usefulness” of the United States Agency for International Development.
Mr Hammer’s comments come after White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt blasted the USAID for having “insane priorities.”
“My very first question … is has this organisation outlived its usefulness,” Mr Hammer told Sky News host Gabriella Power.
“My candid frank conclusion when it comes to USAID is the answer is yes because if you look at some of the recent disbursements, they have been making … a lot of American dollars here are going to a lot of garbage causes.”

Watching the hearing’s behaviour of some Senators is disgraceful and pathetic, how did people vote these people in, they seem to be only out for themselves.
Almost without exception, you can look at every state's county breakdown and see that it's an ocean of red with spots of blue, which are usually the state's cities. Unfortunately major population centers have incredible sway in state elections, which is why many people including myself advocate for state electoral colleges so we aren't held hostage by a few cities.

As an American, I support all of the President's nominees for his cabinet with one exception - RFK Jr. And that doesn't mean that I oppose him either. Although I think that he's kind of loony, I don't think that he's interested in doing harm for any ill-conceived notion that he holds either. IMO, if he gets confirmed, fine. If not, that's OK too. As long as there is an audit conducted on HHS, the seat could remain empty as far as I'm concerned.
