Yeah 8/1 and 8/2.5. The power budget and options for more is great. But the lack of 2.5 ports us a huge letdown. Don't get why mikrotik made this NEW version and not adding this.. Give us poe we wanted the 310 to have, but take away the 2.5gb is so so annoying..😢
Politely disagree. I consider PoE switches as power stripes of wired IoT and do not see any need for 2.5G. And for WIFI access points, It's time for 10G anyways.
@@kozlovskyi well all APs and market is moving to 2.5 Gbps. Also the new Wifi7 standard requires PoE++ and for this use case this switch will miss the boat
@@LordApophis100 THIS ^^ yeah exactly ! Also with WIFI 7 around the corner ap's start utilizing more bandwith... I think companies should start making 2,5 more accessible and therefore mainstream. Is it so much more expensive to make at least some ports 2,5?
Another use case for high power PoE -> Cascaded PoE switches and devices. Power downstream, smaller PoE switch from this, that then powers more lower power devices.
We really didnt waited for this.... This new MikroTik switch looks amazing in terms of features and build quality. However, it's really disappointing that it's only Gigabit instead of 2.5 Gbit. With today's increasing demand for higher speeds even in HOME networks, 2.5 Gbit would have been a much better choice. Let's hope you will address this limitation very soon.
Yeah, boo on 1gb, BT + 2.5gbe is what we want. I’d love to see upgraded CAP and switches to 2.5g PoE. That or give me CAP’s with SFP+ ports and a PoE. 😊
The product specs page is missing the ether1-8 PoE-out types. In the video ppl can see those. Mikrotik must fix the product page in their web site to include information about the PoE spec in ports eth1-8. Hardware-offloaded L3 routing (real word is L3 forwarding) seems to be advertised here. Does the L3 forwarding work with IPv6 too? We have lots of sites using IPv6 with two NAS-devices on their 10 Gbps ports. For Mikrotiks, any L3 forwarding to other LAN segments, even inside the same device, will provide some less than 1 Gbps performance. That is not good for any "L3 hardware switching" router, that claims to be able to provide NAS access with very normal and standard IPv6 addressing. Where can I find the performance test results of the device, with IPv6 traffic going thru it, including the mentioned L3 performance? When does Mikrotik understand that iIPv6 has been running natively for over 25 years, and it is NOT allowed to be dumped into a CPU switching/forwarding, when Mikrotik still seems to not understand how important and widely used IPv6 really is.
Yes we've been asking for high power output, but we've been screaming for 24/48v voltage switching capability particularly in outdoor products. It's still yet to be seen So on the next switch PLEASE include both high wattage per port and 24v stepdown capability from a single 48-57v DC input supply
it's a strange port configuration with 4 SFP+ ports but only 1gbe for the rest. If you want to carry this forward, the next switch will have 2.5gbe POE++ ports and 4 SFP28 10/25 ports...now that's something I would buy in a heartbeat...
Please do a 10GbE version.. CRS*-48-XG-RM !!! We want replace 1GbE Ethernet Base-T to 10GbE version in our customers networks ! Add the STACKING FEATURE! We must wait 10y or do all florbox as fiber ?
What is the PoE pinout of the device? Can't find it anywhere on the listing page or manual. Historically MikroTik has used Mode B PoE which is precisely why we never use your PoE switches. Everything else on the market uses Mode A for good reason
It’s nice to move forward, but it’s really disappointing to equip switches with a few MBs of ram…. Please consider better ram options in the future and higher bandwidth ports.
Nice PoE++ switch, ROS is awesome but no new copper switch should have 1G, should have 2.5G for WiFi6e and WiFi7 throughput. Still need 24 and 48 Port density.
Looking forward to a version with 2.5g ports. I’d buy that one.
I've asked Mikrotik whether they would be willing to provide/produce a CRS310-8G+2S+IN with POE++. That would be an absolute killer 🙂

Most of the devices that require bt today are Wifi 6E/7 access points. These 8 ports should‘ve been 2.5Gb/s instead of gigabit IMO.
Definitely, if the CRS310 had Poe (which the PCB has provisions for) it would be a perfect little switch
The 8 ports should have been 5 GbE.
@@0bsmith0 I disagree, 5g is too niche. 2.5 or 10. I don't think I've even seen a device with a 5g port
There aren't any IP CCTV cams with other port than 100 or 1000. Out there I mean
On the bright side, it’s not insanely expensive
Nice!!!! but you miss is the 2.5 Gbps ports!!!
Politely disagree. I consider PoE switches as power stripes of wired IoT and do not see any need for 2.5G.

10GbE would be useless for APs. 5 GbE would be better.
@@kozlovskyi well all APs and market is moving to 2.5 Gbps. Also the new Wifi7 standard requires PoE++ and for this use case this switch will miss the boat
The switch is cool and all BUT sadly not a single 2,5 Gbps port :(
Definitely would by one if there was a 2,5 version
Same here, would have been an instant buy if it had 4 or 8 2.5 GbE ports.
It's 2024, I have no interest in buying another 1 GbE switch.

Only gigabit? That's disappointing.
Another use case for high power PoE -> Cascaded PoE switches and devices. Power downstream, smaller PoE switch from this, that then powers more lower power devices.
I really hope they bring out something for this. The HeX PoE is getting dated.
And still no 2.5 GBe
No mGig......?
We need 2.5g ports. Make one with ++ and you'll have A LOT of happy customers.
This switch is kind of...mid.
For 2,5gbit ETH was the Price ok. But 1gbit is the price to high.
We really didnt waited for this....

I'll happily buy this when there are some 2.5Gb ports. At that point I can consolidate some hardware into a single device.

BEEN WAITING ON THIS SWITCH MY WHOLE LIFE. Seriously so excited for this, jolly good show chaps.
I would like to see 8x1G 24/48V with 2x 10G SFP in 3xx line.

No passive / 24V PoE? Should we expect MT to start releasing APs that support 57V PoE going forward?
Why only 1Gb ports? You release 24V devices, but no possibility to power it? Thumb down
ordering one, but really should have had 2.5, had to order some of thoose mehhh unifi switches as well for poe++ and 2.5
It’s nice to move forward, but it’s really disappointing to equip switches with a few MBs of ram…. Please consider better ram options in the future and higher bandwidth ports.
is there any PoE standart for stupid starlink dishes? (200W, custom pinout)
Port 9-16 should be 2.5gbit for gen 7 ap
Nice PoE++ switch, ROS is awesome but no new copper switch should have 1G, should have 2.5G for WiFi6e and WiFi7 throughput. Still need 24 and 48 Port density.
At this point it needs to be 5 GbE.

I want it!!
Get working on a CRS330 with 8/1 and 8/2.5 and poe+ and ++. This version is NOT what we wanted or asked for!😢
Nice.nice 👍
Nice.
CPU still 32bit ARM not 64bit ARM 😅
CPU 2 core and RAM 256 MB to small
Nice equipment but again it can do stacking on this device?
what? no 2.5G, please send this switch back to 2014…
Nice. But what about WAP Ax?
Wait, so no 24V POE at all?
No 5GbE ports. No thanks.
