Post edit thoughts - okay there's zero chance I ever make these shorter videos as I want to expand on the different combos and things each color can do, so apologies in advance that white and yellow will also be long. Enjoy!
I’m really excited about the game and very eager to learn different combos. Longer the video the better! Instead of podcasts I’ve been just listening/watching your videos on my hour drive to and from work. Great content brother 😎👍🏼
Meduke's Simp here. My queens reign shall last for eternity. But seriously I love the curse mechanic and I'm very interested in building a deck around her. I also really like nemesis and the shadows. It seems like there's a lot of lines of building you can go with these decks based on your testing and preferences with the color
No need to apologize for the length buddy, enjoying your in depth analysis of this game. Not all of us are part of the low attention span tik tok gen. xD
I just noticed something on the wording of Camelot Knight. It has “This Spirit gains Curse while it has a Soul Core on it.” and “While this Spirit Attacks- Curse” as separate sentences. Does that mean it has Curse while it’s attack no matter what, then gains Curse 100% of the time while it has a Soul Core on it?
Great video! Your thoughts and insight are really interesting. Unfortunately, I don't think effects like Deadly Balance and Dread Knight Nemesis can get around Armor. The wording of Armor is: "cannot be selected by the effects of an opponent's spirits, nexuses, or magic of the colors specified in its conditions. " While Deadly Balance makes your opponent do the selecting and not you, they are still selecting the card by the effect of one of your cards. Therefore, a card with armor cannot be selected. Coming from DBS, this is how Barrier interacts with skills which force your opponent to choose the targets. Barrier cards simply cannot be chosen by the skill of an opponent's card, regardless of who is doing the choosing. Given that these are both Bandai games and the wording is so similar, I suspect that it will work the same way. I would love to be wrong about this though, since I am really excited about purple as a color.
Interesting I’ll have to go back and check the CR on this one, as I know any type of sacrifice based effects would get around it in most CCGs. Thanks for the catch!
@@KozmicPlays For sure! I'll be looking forward to what you find out and your future content. From what I can tell, the issue is the word "Select". If the skills in question read "Your opponent destroys a spirit", rather than selecting one and destroying it, then they would definitely bypass Armor
Are you not able to just inherently attack rested cards in battle spirits? I couldn't find anything about Palomides or where to find more rulings for the game.
Correct you cannot attack rested cards - everything has blocker instead. For more rulings on the game, the main website has the comprehensive rules listed www.battlespirits-saga.com/game/rules/
I want to play purple because of personal preference but it doesn’t feel like it’s worth playing at Vegas. The other colors just feel like they’re better off overall.,
@@KozmicPlays Sorry im super far out of the loop. Does set 1 only have 4 colors? or are we essentially in spoiler season and we'll have all 6 colors in set 1?
@@zacharysmith4508 only four colors in set 1. Following what they did for One Piece we will likely see a color added in set 2 and then have the final color introduced in set 3

The long videos are fine. More content to consume

I really appreciate the in depth review. I'm excited to start play testing purple core drain

Great video. Scary cards and a strong combo. Purple is looking 👌

As someone who played the original US release of Battle Spirits deadly balance is just as broken as you think. You are right to be afraid.
As someone who knows the game, does balance get around armor?

Purple will win Vegas 👀
am I blind but does bandai not have a database for this game?
They do on their regular website: www.bandai-tcg-plus.com/
