- Shir Mishmar - Guard your soul | Nathan Alterman
Music: Sasha Argov
Singer: Achinoam (Noa) Nini
Conductor: Guy Feder
Arrangement: Gil Dor
Guard your soul, keep your strength, guard your soul,
Guard your life, your wisdom, guard your life,
From a collapsing wall, from a burning roof, from dark shadows,
From sling-stones, from a knife, from claws,
Guard your soul from that which burns, from that which cuts,
From what is near like the earth, like the sky,
From what is silent, from what lies in wait, pulling you in,
From that which kills like well waters and stovetop burners,
Guard your soul and your wisdom, the hair upon your head,
Guard your skin, guard your soul, guard your life.
This is allegedly a summer evening, this is allegedly
Merely a good old familiar summer evening,
That has come for loving kindness and tender mercies,
Not to scare us, nor for murmurs of suspicions and guilt,
That comes with the smell of cooking,
And a lamp that will shine
Until we rest and sleep,
Until we rest and sleep.
Merely a good warm summer evening, allegedly,
Merely a warm summer evening which did not come to scare us.
There goes the wind, reaching out in silence,
Suddenly, a window slowly opens in the dark.
Tell me, why do you laugh as if you're frightened?
Tell me, why do you freeze as if you're happy?
Tell me, why is the world so foreign still
And fire and water gaze upon it from all sides?
Tell me, why does your life flutter within it
Like a scared bird inside the palm of a hand?
Tell me, why do you take flight, trembling terribly
Like a bird trapped in a room, seeking an open window?
This is allegedly a summer evening...
Guard your tired soul, guard your soul,
Guard your life, your wisdom, guard your life,
The hair upon your head, guard your skin, guard your beauty,
Guard your kind heart, hold it firmly in your hands.

פרויקט נהדר! כל הכבוד על היוזמה ועל העיבודים והביצועים המצוינים והמענגים. תודה!
שיר נהדר, שירה נפלאה, עיבוד מקסים, נגינה מרגשת. תודה רבה ובמיוחד לך, אחינועם ניני, האחת והיחידה!!!!!
I completely agree! A lovely poem, a wonderful song, marvelous arrangement, intense feeling. Thank you and especially to you, Achinoam Nini, the one, the only!
יפי
The full orchestra has so much scope for instrumental interest and addition of moments - the arrangement is superb.
Fantástica canción de Noa Nini 👋👋
גיא פדר האדיר👏🎻
ביצוע נהדר של אחינועם ניני . שיר מיוחד במינו של אלתרמן שהלחין סשה ארגוב הענק. יופי!!
ן'ן
A superb arrangement, augmented by the instruments of the full orchestra. On closer examination, one stanza is a march tempo.
זכיתי לחשיפה של שירים מדהימים בטעמי על ..יש לי יום יום חג...מוכנה למנוי בהתאם .תודה !
💜
Delightfully!!! Bravo!!!
A pleasant voice!
Thanks for the delightful heart.
🙏🙏🙏
Please add text in Hebrew so I can sing this beautiful song. What depth of feeling she conveys.
The text already appears in Hebrew for those who are connected to UA-cam in Hebrew (:
And for your convenience attached here too:
@@IsraelPhilharmonicOrchestra Thank you so much for the Ivrit. Now I must learn the music and the milim.
❤️🌹🌹🌹🌸🌸🌸❤️
Marvelous voice and melody.. please add info and text in English, so thta we may want to track & hear again Thanks . A real thank you from Italy to Noah (?)
Una bella pretesa proporre il testo in alfabeto ebraico, accessibile ad una ristretta minoranza se paragonato a quello internazionale in lingua anglosassone.
מה עם מוזיקה לבלט קופליה או דון קישוט?
אנא צפה בסרטון שלי על ישראל דרך הערוץ שלי
I made one translation change. Instead of allegedly, I use "so it seems" because the Hebrew has three syllables and my three English words preserve both meaning and rhythm of the original Hebrew word לכאורה.
In poetry there is great meaning to every word written, and your suggestion (though it plays well) does not convey the original meaning
@@IsraelPhilharmonicOrchestra What is the original meaning according to your reading? I would very much like to know the correct meaning. You may reply in Ivrit.
I don't know why you write that Alterman and Argov must be turning in their graves. Why do you so dislike this deep and brilliant poem/song?
@@erpollock Because he can’t bear that Noa is not hawkish.
