there is a test for the injector, if the engine dies its not that injector that is the fault, you better pop the head off the hpfp and check the tappets and cam along with the plungers, and for sucking air, you will also need to reset the ecm for all the items you clean or replace or the ecm will over fuel thinking they are still in the used cycle, its in the advanced ecm tab on insite. also do a snap test for smoke, a dripping or overfueling fuel doser will not face clog anything.
I've always found air systems leak that contributes to this problem either an inlet restriction (air filter) or boost leaks minor ones, I've only had 3 hydrocarbons injectors fail in the ast 13 years an were all due to fuel system failures an contamination. Love the channel from diesel tech to another 🫡🫡🫡🫡
I 2nd that I'm still with ya Ryan the experience and training you went through over the years you know your stuff but we all learn something new everyday. Keep up the good work.
Mine stopped doing a Regen around 8 months ago. I cleaned the filter and it Regened a couple of times on a short trip and the engine light came on again. Im happy for it not to be working but I don't have my alcohol injection setup yet. I don't want to use it for boost just want it to keep the backside a little cleaner. I'll be pulling the codes here soon.
Hi, can someone help me? I did forced regen and my temperature didn't look good to me. It took about 1.15 hours to do the regen. DOC was at 771 DPF INLET : 937 DPF OUTLET: 891 No fault codes no issue. I did SCR rest in cummins INSITE and it passed all. Do i need to be worried about something? I feel like DOC is clogging up. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Wouldn't bad combustion from like a leaky injector or coolant getting burned cause face plug. You'd think liquid diesel entering the exhaust system wouldn't plug up much.
How are you all doing Can anyone help with this spn 4364 fmi 18 peterbilt commins isx Check engine it's still on Took it to the shop they put new DPF filter and outlet nox Check engine still on Now i'm noticing my trailer Getting dirty from exhaust And also not using Proper amount of Def It's using list
So do over the counter products "Pour in tank DPF cleaners/fuel treatment" actually work? Looks like the fuel actually doesn't touch the DPF itself only the DOC to heat the DPF....
Those products just cause more problems they will clean the soot from inside the engine and send it rite into the DPF causing damage due to high back pressure

Fox Truck and Tractor 1120 High Ave SW Canton, Oh.

Is it overdosing without the disc in place?
Probably that injector is cooked(bad spray pattern) from it missing its heat shield and needs to be replaced.
