It's not all exploring, each mission requires a lot of funding, planning, research, and preparation. I think 7 months consists of that and the other 5 is exploring. But yes, in the end it seems to be all worth it in the end from the excitement and wonder.
That's why I've been inspired to be a marine biologist for quite some time. Loved the ocean since I was 3. I specifically want to get into ocean exploration and conservation. But remember it's never too late to start learning about this stuff, you might be able to get a second degree in marine biology! Cheers!
Underwater stuff is so pretty but it really scares me a lot, especially the parts where the lights don't penetrate. I am always like what if there is some ginormous sea monster creeping there or what if a great white shark suddenly pops out like in the jaws movie( shipwreck scene). But yah underwater stuff is kind of pretty too.
I know what you mean, and its called Thalassophobia. I have the same thing and I can't stand open waters where I can't see the bottom. Just as you say, you don't know whats beneath you. Also if I see the point of a wreckage of a ship or any other thing, and it dissappears into the darkness.. it gives me the creeps like nothing else. its pretty.. but scary AF xD
It could be definitely possible, there is so much of the ocean unexplored, we don't know what to expect in the abyss. I've loved the ocean, the only one that has me a bit on edge are the old abandoned naval mines remaining from WWII
I had a similar issue. But mine involved a closet door that wouldn't stay shut, a creaking metal bedframe, and a older brother who could not be more delighted than to take advantage of his younger brother's fearful imagination of monsters.
@@sareth90 probably the same reason we all are, because we can watch in wonder and learn about scientific exploration without having to physically go down there. People watch scary movies, doesn't mean they want to be in one.

i hate myself mmmm not quite It’s only named that because it was discovered near there It can be found almost every in the world except the Artic climates
It's not ideal, but we didn't start out sinking them to create habitats. We found ships wrecked in war and from storms and observed that the coral and other wildlife were latching onto them.
As she said they used them and training exercise is probably to demonstrate how to properly take down an enemy sub which littering is subjective to who and what your talking about we can easily take it off the ocean floor IF absolutely necessary for the environment
Things like bluetooth and wifi don't go underwater and so anything remote controlled has to be physically connected with cables and tethers to the controls so there is a literally cable or "tether" running from the ship to the sub that has all the wires for the controls and camera feeds and audio

If these videos existed when I was in HS I totally would have been a marine biologist. These people sound like they’re having so much fun!
It's never too late to learn new stuff
Marine Biology would be great if they didn't make $3 and a shoestring per hour.

Finni Finsleigh Foo Foo thanks for asking. real estate. 😁
I don't know what I enjoy more, the fascinating life under the sea or the commentary from all of you. Your enthusiasm makes this channel a winner!
Commentary always sooo priceless..
Give em a TV show!

I had no idea what a siphonophore was before watching these and now I can identify them :D
thank you
how dose it breed
BlueRice Very carefully.

Looking forward to the next dive season
It never fails to amaze me just how completely nature can claim a man-made structure as its own. Those wrecks are hauntingly beautiful.
best channel on youtube - on the internet!
Jacques Cousteau legacy
This has been going on since 2014? Even earlier? Why have I never seen or heard about these live streams?
Same

This so cool. Thanks for not having ads.
does the rov have a uv light onboard? would be nice to see if anything glows at this depth
its giving off vibe of Subnautica as *Nautilus* observe the ship and brine-pool
Amazing technology. Y'all are sooooo fortunate.
It's great to see it with all that life growing all over it.
Impresionante, increíble, esos barcos, el submarino... muy, muy bueno
I don't know what it is, but brine pools just seem terrifying to me. Being under water and seeing that your're over water just seems so wrong!
I know what you mean. It seems almost eerily unnatural.
The portuguese man of war is a siphonophore? I thought it was one organism, a jellyfish.
It’s more like Mystery Science Theater 3000.
awesome commentary
"Season"? Is the ship/submarine only active during certain seasons?
BennyC023 Yes.
Seems like they have fun!
So are they actually in the capsule or remote controlling it from up top?
GingerNinja they’ve got a remote
Just imagine if all of the oceans were emptied how many ship and aircraft wrecks we would find.
And which ship wreck you would like to see first!
Let's not do that
What? No chimaera made it into the best of? Anyway great looking stuff! Can't wait till next season.
straordinario! Dio era ubriaco quando creo' il mondo
The U-166 went down with all 52 crew and sunk the Robert E. Lee that was seen in this episode. The R. E. Lee went down with 15 passengers and 10 crew.
So what exactly are they incubating and why?
This is the coolest job
Thanks for sharing
На какой глубине происходит съёмка, не понимаю эту сферу, но кажется глубина около 8000метров.
Забыл спросить 😁, как они живут под таким давлением? И какое давление на такой глубине? Спасибо за ответ.
What are those green dots or lights
That Dumbo is COOL. I hope you don't mind, im making that by background. Too bad you don't upload in 4 or 8k.
Nobody is gunna mention at 4:40 there’s an active chimney from the survivors still inside the ship?
What is that? :o
xBloodshotEyex in case you haven’t heard it today, you’re pretty awesome. Just thought you should read that. If you say it loud you can hear it too.
I love your channel!
...well now i know that in my country (portugal), there are THOSE things living under me...great :')
i hate myself mmmm not quite

You're livestreams would be more popular if you allowed moderated chat.
The thumbnail looks like an EDM concert pic taken behind the DJ
It's about time they called brine pools goo lagoon
All these weird creatures that we see in sci-fi movies do exists. This video here is proof.😊
The U-166 was a submarine during WW2, it was sunk here in the Gulf of Mexico. Really? I thought this was stock footage.
Any treasure?
I also just wish one of them would say "Deep core deep core this is cab 5 do you read me" 😁😁 #theabyss
Why does this video remind me of Mystery Science Theater 3000?
Perfeito

This is the best ?
If we ever find life in the cosmos, I'm willing to bet it won't even come close to being as weird as what we have in our oceans.
Probably equally weird
😍wow keren👍
Is it 3-5 times more saltier? Or is it 3-5 times more salty? Grammar matters ya know. Don’t get salty.

The Goldman Sachs octopus..
It's funny how we sink subs n boats on purpose and call them habitats when really we're just littering the ocean floor cause it's easier
It's not ideal, but we didn't start out sinking them to create habitats. We found ships wrecked in war and from storms and observed that the coral and other wildlife were latching onto them.
Just returning the materials back to Mother Earth.
As she said they used them and training exercise is probably to demonstrate how to properly take down an enemy sub which littering is subjective to who and what your talking about we can easily take it off the ocean floor IF absolutely necessary for the environment
So a Man of War ISN'T a jellyfish?
No but they are very closely related the man o war is a siphonophore where a "true jellyfish" or salt water jellyfish are normally Scyphozoans
Nerds rock!
Kool. Cool.
Submarines and uboats are not the same thing BTW
Holy Cow?
Found alien life
Is that a fuxking head at 4:00 or am I crazy
I cant stand shipwrecks! They skeeve me out BAD!
Grab everything that is not nailed to the floor!
wwwoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow
i thought this was a league of legends joke
Who the hell plays nautilus?
Feel like these guys are a bunch of nerds on discord remotely controlling the Sub under the ocean lol least thats what i picture lol
That's basically what's happening, the subs are remote but they're sitting in a conference room on the ship
Nerds
This video would be better without the Karens in the background
quit killing things
Great images but have some respect. People died on some of those ships and those are graves. Laughing when watching those images is not appropriate.
Z
"were almost out of tether" lol wtf is this marine biology or crypto?
Things like bluetooth and wifi don't go underwater and so anything remote controlled has to be physically connected with cables and tethers to the controls so there is a literally cable or "tether" running from the ship to the sub that has all the wires for the controls and camera feeds and audio
To much pointless chat, what’s mad is they think there funny!!
There funny?
Get off of my boat!
Oof, it's not their fault your job is boring
