Do you think DeBoer's plan will work for Alabama?
Yes! He has recruited greatly for what he needs
Absolutely
I think Caleb Downs is the true loss for Alabama. They keep him they have an All-American secondary with Moore and Jackson. Without him and with Sabb as a replacement, and how key of a position Downs would have played, I think our defense takes a major step down. Basically Downs is able to come down and fill gaps in the run game, which caused him to lead the team in tackles. Sabb lacks that ability to come down and stop an elite running back in his tracks and isn’t nearly as instinctive playing that safety position whatever that call it. Lawson and Campbell are great backers but I feel like college football is geared toward the pass these days and we need a strong secondary leader. That would have been Downs with Moore as his support and then a strong corner in Jackson and then maybe a five-star freshman on the other side. That secondary’s only hole is the weak side corner and it may prove to not be weak at all. Now without Downs as our secondary’s leader, Moore has to be the leader and has Sabb as his wingman. Those two safeties are arguably the most important positions in the Alabama’s defense because we can generally stop the run and our corners are usually outstanding. It’s the middle of the field where we get beat. My question is Joel how much of a downgrade is it with Sabb replacing Downs? I think teams will attack the middle of the field and take advantage of Sabb’s inability to tackle backs coming out of the backfield. Moore is fantastic but he can’t cover the whole field and I don’t think Sabb is good enough to lock Georgia down like Downs did taking the best college tight end we’ve arguably ever seen in Brock Bowers and rendering him ineffective. With regard to Isaiah Bond, I like Bernard more as a WR1 and we have PLENTY of guys to replace him. I don’t think it’s a big deal, but Downs. I think may have cost us the Natty before the season started. I’m hopeful we can do it but now Ohio State is a threat with him on the team, and we have to get past Texas and Georgia. I’m not worried about our offense wirh DeBoer but do you think Alabama’s defense will come together enough with Sabb to lock down a top team like Georgia like we did last year? @JoelKlattShow

I think he will do fine at least for a little while, but let’s not kid ourselves that what Nick did is historic in the sport and probably won’t be replicated again for a while unless it’s by Kirby Smart.

As a former Football coach of 25 years there are a few football broadcasters I follow and Joel Klatt is #1 IMO. He tells it as it is and his backstory is inspirational.
His recruiting is 🔥 we love it 10-10 Batman nation knows - all speculation this was preplanned no king doesn’t have heir to the throne of the dynasty
GIVE HIM A MINUTE, jesus. The guy has been there a week, loses some big names, already pulls several major replacements and still everyone is down his throat. The only games they really have to worry about are Georgia, LSU and Oklahoma. Of those Georgia will be out for blood. So just dial it back

My biggest question with our new coach was would he be able to dominate the recruiting trail quickly and he’s proven to be able to do so not just with recruiting but the portal. I think we are in store for something special

It’s the defensive side of the ball I’m concerned about . The Big Boys of the SEC recruit out of certain areas very heavy ..
a few months later- kdb has the 2nd best recruiting class in the country and their per player average is number one in the country. going to be alot of upset college football fans when they see its the same bama
I'm worried about our defense. Who are we recruiting at defensive line and linebacker? We're recruiting offense and the secondary. Our weaknesses was our up front guys. No saftey should lead the team in tackles.
Very solid at linebacker. Deonte Lawson, jiheed Campbell are both very good.
That is not a good stat when a safety leading in tackles. It a reflection of D line play or giving up big plays.

@@alexmangrum90 Not at Alabama. Back when the wishbone was in it was but mainly linebacker and defense lineman. If it gets to the safety, the line and linebacker is not stopping. Different types of defense I have seen this as well. Stop the run. Run the 🏈. Pass when you want to. If you can do that, you will probably win. I have seen it at Alabama and they don't win championships when a safety is leading in tackles.

I truly believe Georgia will win against Bama by at least two touchdowns. They cannot wait for the rematch. I wish. Honestly maybe 8-4 I expect 9-3. Gonna be honest with how much tougher the conference got. I just don’t see it with deboar he hasn’t won before and it’ll take him I believe a long time if ever to win it he maybe fired before he gets the chance. I see a possible 5 loss season next season. They have a tough schedule and are way worse and will never have the same level of recruiting or coaching again.

And the pac 12 is a weak conference he’s never coached in a premier conference the sec and big ten there’s only 2. Common sense bama is at best a 3 loss team next year.
