I presume it is not sold in the USA? Seems like a nice saw, but without domestic sales and service, I think i will continue to look at Martin, Altendorf, and Felder (Format).

Yes -this machine is sold in the US. Panhans were the first to produce such a machine and are on the 3rd generation. Others are playing catch up.

Aaron Hoyle Try to tell this bullshit to any Altendorf or Otto Matrin dealler.(c) ""The sliding table saw came into the world in 1906 when craftsman Wilhelm Altendorf developed the first Altendorf in Berlin."".Panhans was founded in 1918 ye, as far as I know.

@@aaronhoyle8960 Bullshit. Altendorf invented the panel saw.

I have to say - I shuddered and was appalled at @3:45 when he pushed those angle cut pieces between the parallel fence and the blade that were longer than wide. Yikes! That's the very reason a sliding panel saw ensures safety and no "trapping" between a blade and fence - so why didn't he just set a stop on his crosscut fence and cut those mitered pieces to length using the sliding table?

Yes I was waiting for it to jamb and throw it back. Very dangerous.

Agreed. That was an odd choice of cut. Although in fairness, this saw is set up with a riving knife- something that doesn't seem to be used much in the US, at least in videos I watch on this site. This considerably reduces the likelihood of kickback as it keeps the workpiece from being caught by the tips on the trailing edge of the blade.

As long as they're wide enough to register firmly against the fence, and you know what you're doing, it's no big deal. Besides, with the blade tilted away from the fence it's much less likely to catch.

For those of you who are wondering this panel saw is made in Germany by the Hokubema Co. And if you have to ask what it costs, then you can't afford it ! This is the first panel saw I've seen with a double tilting blade. Wouldn't mind having that feature !

This is worthy for any to-do list, have you seen some of the awesome projects found in Woody Hyezmar’s Woodworking Bible? as seen on his website. Thanks for the video, bookmarked!
