Yeah I know, kind of reminds me of a salty, almost sour concoction. It was also pretty weird because you’d think lemon flavored snow would taste lemony, but it don’t!
I grew up eating snow ice cream. Dad use to make it using vanilla, sugar and whole milk that probably had a lot of cream in it, as we had milk cows, so we always had plenty of milk and cream. We always made our own butter too and in fact I still do, using fresh milk I buy from a neighbor, as our cows are long gone SR
my grandma would make us ice cream close to that while at the sugar shack with maple syrup while boiling it down great memory. im going to try this recipe with my kids thanks for that..
Well that's pretty cool!! I'll be carrying a can of condensed milk and vanilla in my ice fishing gear box from now on!! That'll make a nice midday treat!
We don't get much snow in Eastern North Carolina but when it does snow the FIRST thing you do is make snow cream. Then you call every one you know to see if they have made theirs yet .
Never had snow ice cream Joe, but have eaten snow before!! LOL Thanks for sharing this video! As of today, March 11, the 6 inches of snow we had on Thursday and Friday is all gone now. Yesterday here in WV it was 67 degrees and this morning, Monday, March 11 it was 40 degrees when I got up at 6:30 this morning. Have a great day Joe. Juddie - J & J TOA
Turn your evaporated milk into caramel by boiling the can of milk for @ 1/2 hr then let it cool. It goes great on everything associated with ice cream.
Oh is that how you do it. My mother always talked about it but we never get snow here. She grew up in Chicago and her grandparents had a farm in Wisconsin.
Joe, here in Arkansas we take a pitcher and put the sweetened condensed milk in it then add the vanilla and some milk to get it all mixed up then you can sample the cream mixture and add more of what ever is needed. Get a bowl of snow and slowly add the cream to it and mix until you like it. At times we also added chocolate syrup and had chocolate snow cream... I prefer the vanilla but the chocolate is not that bad either
Joe, you need the crank ice cream thing for grand kids. They pack snow and rock salt around it and turn and turn the handle for hours to have ice cream. Keeps them busy all afternoon and Grandpa get the first dish to try.
That gave me a good laugh when i seen the title of the video the first thing i thought of was no yellow snow then when you laughed and said white snow that made my day thanks Joe have a great day be safe.
Looks good Joe. But being out here in AZ I dont think I can try that lol. But pork steaks im going to try this week. Found them in the store :) Hope your Dads check up that coming up goes fantastic!!!!
Thanks for sharing that Joe. Need to try that. Unfortunately I got the warmer part of that storm here in WNY with some rain and still having some heavy (50mph gust) winds from it.
Technically snow is colourless (it is due to the many small ice crystals) This is exactly the same recipe as some basic ice creams. You are just subbing some milk/cream for ice.
That yellow snow has a funny taste. Thanks for sharing!

Warning if it's yellow never eat it only the white snow
@@princegibson4336 it was a joke Einstein
@@tylerd.1 we need pink snow

The thick condensed Milk is what made the funny consistency
My grandmother used to make this all the time when we had snow
That's cool 👍
Haven’t made that in a while. I’m hoping we don’t get any more snow in Missouri this year though

You don't put the condensed milk in the refrigerator
Thank you so much for sharing that cause I’m in Ohio and I never seen snow like this before and I want some free ice cream
My mom use to make the exact same way
8-12 cups of snow
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 can condensed milk
Stir. Eat.
We were a poor family from Ohio and every year, we did this because we could have ice cream more than once a week!
We always put a couple farm fresh eggs in ours. Thanks for sharing
I think that makes it custard!
I believe your right. Thanks

How much vanilla and sweetened condensed milk do you need for the Farm all M bucket full ??
I am not sure, but a bucket of that and pork steaks on the fire would make a great little get together. Lol.
@@NorthernSeclusion Yes , Yes it would !!
In the South we call that snow cream the we use milk sugar and vanilla extract enjoy it's delish
We actually got this recipe from Melissa's Mom down in Louisiana. It was very delicious.
With all that snow and now you're eating it.Did It taste like snowy revenge?
We used to do the same thing when I was a kid.
I want some. However, I am in the Texas Gulf Coast. Warm here today.
That looks almost like the frieze dried icecream.
Do you have a recipe for warm weather and suntan lotion?
Don’t even know if a bird shit on the ice or many things would have passed or walked on that snow 😮 men I am not going to eat that stuff
Joe, you need the crank ice cream thing for grand kids. They pack snow and rock salt around it and turn and turn the handle for hours to have ice cream. Keeps them busy all afternoon and Grandpa get the first dish to try.
We actually have one of the barrel looking ice cream makers and I can not wait to do it with the Grand kids.

I remember my dad did this back in the blizzard of 93 and it was the best ice cream I ever had.
Never had it like that, but can remember eating real maple syrup on snow.
It's not snowed here this year. Can you please send me some via UPS?

Yum! Glad the recipe called for the white variety. I hear tell that yellow stuff can really knock you for a loop.

It was nice to see someone else loves snow ice cream. Love your videos and have a good week for me.

If you’re looking for a more citrus taste try the yellow snow. It’s got a lemon/pineapple type taste to it.
