I've been a great fan of Rosalyn Tureck since I was a youngster in the 1950's, I particularly love her interpretations of Bach, as well as her pronouncements and explanations during her concerts; she's just so exact and precise in everything she does. She's just so versatile and adaptive to her subject; e.g., the PolyMoog synthesizer. She reigned absolutely supreme as the Queen of the Harpsichord! Her records and CD's have brought me great pleasure through the years of her career. I was fortunate enough to see her perform live twice in NYC during the 1970's. I'm very thankful for this post.
Rosalyn was my piano teacher's teacher. So in some way I am her student by association. It makes me wish I were a greater musician, being in the shadow of such a great artist!
I like very much how she teaches Bach by specific pieces like preludes and piece variations. Instead of that common obsessive practice of playing prelude and fugues together like a question of faith, most listeners (including myself) get themselves black out by the complex music and cannt appreciate it at certain point. Isolated preludes and here and there a fugue is the best approach for Bach appreciation
Many great modern jazz musicians have studied Bach , Jacob pastorius to name just one musician in the modern field and I can think of three or four guitarists that have studied Bach ,

Great words Orville and love your enthusiasm.

The queen of the harpsichord :) Thanks for sharing :)
My pleasure! She is definitely the queen at not only the Harpsichord, but at the piano as well! Have a great weekend! Thomas😄🎶🎶🎶🙏
She watches herself play very intently! And has lots of fun. She plays goldberg variations so well.
Lovely Artistry

Nice.
Yes, the definition of the music!
For reference, during Bach's time the tuning of the keyboard would have been half step lower than this.

In my mind, the equal of Landowska.

She plays the heck out of that chopin peice. Sounds cheesey but fun on the moog, haha.
