Cambridge is ranked at number 7 and Oxford is ranked at number 10. As the biggest centre outside London for banking and legal services Leeds is the wealthiest city in the north of England with upmarket shops, restaurants and cafes. The university has a very appealing and safe campus 10 minutes walk from the busy city centre which has an attractive blend of Victorian and Neo Classical buildings as well as glass and steel commercial buildings. In and around the campus itself there is some lovely architecture and a buzzing social scene. Of the UK's 120 universities Leeds falls consistently within the top three for the number of applicants. With an impressive international standing for the quality of its research and a first rate social scene Leeds will always be a serious choice for a great many academically gifted undergraduates and postgraduates. It is the 51st most international university in the world.
I have heard university/masters education is free in Portugal for their citizens but you have to pay quite a huge sum in UK even if you are a British citizen. Is this true?
Hi! Public university is practically free in Portugal yes, I believe tuition fees are about 800€/year for undergrad degrees. In terms of the UK, for undergrad degrees, the price is typically 9.250£/year but you have a student finance from the UK government. For international students in the UK, the price is quite higher! It’s not mandatory, up to you if you want to pursue a PhD or not 😊 P.S. - the master’s in the UK are 1-year courses - 12 entire months, but they have the same necessary numbers of credits as 2-year degrees

Hi Kawtar! In general, the higher education in the UK is very good! In terms of pricing, universities normally have their tuition fees available on the website. You might also be able to get a scholarship, but that's something you have to check with the institutions :)
