125cc SHIFTER KART

Not my best driving. I think this was only my third session of the day. I was really struggling on the brakes at the time. Unfortunately, I lost the video of my race which had some really cool shifter kart racing in it.

the shifter karts are a lure... you think you must smash it, but in reality you might be a lot faster driving it smoothly and pushing just a tiny bit less hard ... then after that you can build up the late breaking ... but still remember that a good exit means a lot more on the long straights after, then the late breaking for the single corners...

True, but also shifter karts can run different lines from direct drive karts so sometimes late braking and making the corner a "V" works out cause you can use the gears to come out faster.

@@tinskaysys yeah, except in this case the guy in front was faster through the tight sections, but was running more smooth lines... it always worth considering if you can carry more speed for the straights. :)

Got offered a drive in a KZ2 the other week, be interesting to try.

It sounded like there was lots of over-revving in many of the more hairpin like corners. Was that just that the track needed awkward gearing or was it more so intentional?

sounds like he went into 1st geasr instead of 2nd gear because after the hairpin he shifted very fast....

Looks like it’s happening a bit quick for you in a few sections, a bit more seat time to find your rhythm and get past the sensory overload of the shifter and you will crush it!
