No garage space at all, dude can't take anything big with him. Usually van lifers have a bike (foldable or not) he can't even take that. Pretty build indeed, practical? No fuckin way.

@@flybeep1661 No garage, but a lot more cabinet space. A bike could fit without issue in that long aisle during transit. Don't have to fuss with removing the front wheel to fit it under the bed. Or throw a rack on the back. There's flexibility.

That would have to be one of the best van builds I've ever seen. Such a lovely young man as well. I think he would have a very successful career doing van conversions in my humble opinion.

I've been into the #VanLife thing for just about a month, regularly viewing different Van Conversions on UA-cam. Shaiden's van is hands down, thee best van I've seen and by a lot. Definitely the best layout, best appearance and most well equipped. He has raised the bar.
Been looking at builds for over 3 years now and I can agree. You'll be hard pressed to find one even close to this in that price range. The layout is pure genius yet seems so obvious.
This has got to be my favorite layout of a sprinter fan EVER.

Seriously! He could sell the plans. (Shhh, don’t give him any ideas.) I saved this to my Best Builds list so if I am ever to get out there I can study his build. Time is getting short- I’m 70 year old woman- a young 70- and pretty healthy but you just don’t know as you get older- the invincibility of youth begins to be replaced with practicalities. Like how to make some money quickly to afford the specialist to get my dogs ears healthy and then how to actually get enough to get a vehicle. To quote John Lennon- “Life is what happens to you while you’re making other plans...” but also- Life is good! Damn, well aren’t I feeling philosophical this morning! Lol

I do love seeing planning, patience and shrewd purchases trump a build costing 3x as much and built by proffesionals, that young man should be damn proud, amazing van.

Inspiring design! I have seen hundreds of vans...this is the one that has stuck in my head over the years and I was glad to run across it again tonight. I wish I had seen this about 20 years ago...not sure I am fit enough to take this challenge on anymore...but I might just try.

ok I've watched a bunch of these builds - though I'll never live in one myself. This layout is the most unique and works so well. Most importantly he did this high end looking build for an amazing budget. Kid is very enterprising, he should channel his energy in a startup of sorts.
At 23, how did he learn how to do all this?. He is amazing. Both you guys are. Jared's van is amazing too!

I love this! A decent wardrobe too! With a portapotty in the shower and a lagoon table to turn front seats into an extra dinette it would be perfection (to me)

I’m very impressed. This could be more that just a hobby. I think the Murphey beds are very smart. I like this design with the bed in front and bathroom in the back. Very beautiful.
Diesel in the van is safer than propane.
HereFishyFishy I agree. diesel is flammable not explosive. And diesel is not under pressure.
@@johnstryker8619 it also burns slow and doesn't vaporize like gasoline, causing the explosion.

You have to get to 52 degrees celsius before it evaporates enough to ignite.

Easily the best build I've seen. This is a super well thought out design. If I build a van this will be my starting point. There are some things I would change but that's more about a difference in resources than bad design. For the price point this is exceptional and the things he "splurged' on were perfect. The harder it is to redo later the more it makes sense to spend the money up front.

Love this Layout! the only thing I would change is have the shower width-wise at the back and use 2 magnetic shower curtains. angle the shower pan towards the back. Just to have that room when you shower. but aside from that Fantastic build!

Honestly, one of the best build.
Anyone from San Diego knows where you are when you showed the sunset and the view in-between the 2 vans saying your not going to tell everyone where you are with the one big palm tree. LOL you should also go south a couple miles to really great surf spot parking lot. Plus when you did the out the back door of his van I saw my rental house on the beach.
🤣 I love this beach and lot to chill at during the day. You're right tho there's another great spot down the road. San Diego locals definitely know where I am!

This kid is BRILLIANT & MOTIVATED, and really planned this out WELL!! I'm usual very critical (I like to think I'm just brutally honest); but I can't find any faults with this one, I LOVE this can! I would love to live in this one, it's gorgeous!!!! I also like that need, saves space, well designed!

Sadly it's true. Coldest part of a van and I used to laugh myself until it's 9pm at night and the floor is damn cold. Of course it's not like the northeast but it's cold

@@JarrodTocci it's all the humidity. Same here in south Texas. Heat too. The Vegas heat at 110° was totally bearable, the heat here at 90 (or less) will suffocate you! Soo much humidity!!!
@@JZA_007 omg, you have no idea until you're in over your head, camping out in your own canned construction zone. I'm pretty sure I've made every stupid and expensive mistake you could imagine. If I can finish it this year, I'll probably sell it!

This is one of the absolute van builds I have seen, and I have watched a lot of videos. I am definitely putting murphy bed in my Transit.
I saw one where the man ended up having issues with his diesel so he traded it in for gas van, but still had the diesel heater so he called the company and they told him to run it on kerosene and that it would run much cleaner.
@Shaiden Valentine oh, I was under the impression that walmart stil sold it. I got my kerosene lanterns from there, but it has been many years ago. Or maybe a Dicks or Academy or Camper's World. You'd think a camping store would keep it stocked!😉

Great layout and use of space. Everything you need without over doing it. Needs a few pillows to cozy it up, but really nice job. Esp. Love the skylight in bed vibe.
This is such an interesting build. Doesn’t seem like the bench area would be that comfortable. So tempting though

@Shaiden Valentine does the lip on the slide out table not cause discomfort? I think you should cut the top of the lip so it's flush with the table surface, would make using the desk much nicer. Well done though, very thoughtful design.

Heated floors & shower, lots of water, storage & counter space. I forgot about the top loading slide out Whytner Fridge. Are there baffles/sections in the water tank to prevent all those gallons rushing from one end of the tank to the other?
Ah, that is a good idea! Never thought of that. Must be a bit harder to clean though. Maybe stainless steel tank?
@@lass-inangeles7564 I'm sure it would be harder to clean. Lots of edges where crud can accumulate. But the uninhibited flow of up to 181 kilograms (400 lbs) of fluid rushing forward (Yes I realise that when full it's not going to move much) under brakes is a whole lot of mass to contend with. Perhaps divide into 2 or 3 tanks?

Witch the coach at the entrance you have a sort of living room which sounds welcoming, and maybe shortening the cupboard in front of it with a lifting sliding table you have always in the same multifunctional area also where to work and eat..and at night bed area, just Great! Great all the storages and the privacy of your inside shower toilet,... This Van has simply all the effective living basics in a smart display.. I would add just another or a couple of window in front of the couch andin the kitchen area behind water and is perfect !!5stars!!
Hope he will start an activity based on this display.. This has it all, with time matching colors and materials this Van will be a best seller!!

I saw a video with a gentleman who used kerosene lamp oil in his Wabasto heater. Maybe send the manufacturer a question just to double-check... from what I understand, apparently it's a cleaner burn (in addition to a cheaper purchase from a hardware store/Wally Land)?
Great build - your epoxy solution for a shower drain pan is brilliant. Thanks for that. Because right now the (eventual) van build will have a Japanese style soaking tub hiding underneath the foot of the bed... heh-heh...

The chinese heater was tested by an English guy who tried various fuels, in summary diesel only the rest clogs it up
Why would you care about a minimal amount of difference in clean burn? It exhausts outside..... What's the point and kerosene is more expensive, it's not as available and it will burn differently in your heater.... If at all.
He can use B100 biodiesel for a cleaner burn.
I wonder if these heaters could burn WVO?
@@MagicHawkeye bio diesel is more expensive than diesel and kerosene....i don't understand where you guys are going with all this.... Just use diesel.... Quit making it hard.
And Diesel burned at the proper temp burns completely clean. The heater puts out less crap than his gasoline engine... They burn so little fuel.... At least my Webasto does....and mines petrol.
