- Today on Larry Smith Outdoors we go out drop shotting for bluegills while still finding a variety of great fish! Big B and Pete are such smart guys and we love getting to spend some time in the boat with them! These guys are dialed on this bluegill bite! Drop shotting is a such a fun technique!

Yes!! I cannot get enough of these videos! The size of these gills are amazing. The rod bend is the best. Bluegills are my favorite fighting fish on light tackle. Thanks Larry, Brian and Pete! I really get excited when I get a notification of a new video with Big B.

loved the video! the first 10 minutes i was thinking "i hope they show the dropshot setup so i can try this" so i was very happy when i got to that part of the video. Do you ever leave extra line below the split shot so that if you change spots and need to fish the bait higher you can just lower the splitshot without rerigging? or would that impact getting bit. Cheers from a fellow Berlinite! (now in madison)

Nice video and love the camaraderie between you guys. Question - I noticed that some were rigged with the weight above the hook and some below the hook. What is the practical difference between those two approaches?
