Great bunch at Get Er Brewed. Really exceptional service. Making wine for many years ... came back to it during the lockdown. I find the Beaverdale 30 Bottle Wine Kit - Sauvignon Blanc and the Cab Sav exceptional. People don't believe me that it is brewed at home. 2/3 months in the bottle to condition and you have a class wine. I have never been happy with my attempts at the beer. Although recently I tried the Mangrove Jack's Irish Red Ale. Upon recommendation I went for the Spray Malt instead of ordinal sugar and carbonated drops for convenience (I like my beer a little less gassy - and they are easier to control). I cannot describe the result to you. It is like a Smithwick's Kllkenny cross. Lots of Malt, Hops and toffee. Highly recommended. I have one lot drank, one lot bottled, one lot currently fermenting and another one ready to go. I am running out of bottles ... :)
For vanilla I’d suggest using a vanilla pod, split open and soak in some alcohol, the alcohol will help extract some of the vanilla and also protect it. A neutral type spirit like vodka is best to use then just add to the fermenter and allow a short period of time to infuse
If you use the mini mash, do you substitute that for the brewing sugar in the kit or put both in? Also, do you need to boil the wort from the mini mash?
Yes you can use granulated although in our opinion you get a slightly better flavour from brewing sugar in a sugar comparison. Spraymalt & Liquid malt as enhancers are some of the best in our opinion in place of the sugar
Great video, thanks
Thankyou, best wishes for 2024

Thanks a lot Peter for the kind words, the team will really appreciate this
Great info and great video cheers Graham
Any information on isomerized hop extract for bittering ?
How can I get the mini steeping kits?
Great video, some great ideas, what would you recommend to get a type of vanilla taste in to say an ipa or a mango pale ale?

I’d suggest both, the mini mash only requires a few hundred grams of malt to make an impact. If you have time a very short boil would be best practice
I've been brewing kits for decades, all you need is 1kg bog standard granulated sugar.

Thanks, had some very reasonable beers from kits, but last two both seemed a tiny bit "flabby" being not quite bitter/hoppy enough
Try the hop tea bags to inject some hop flavour and aroma
