Lol... this reminds me of the later years at the farm I grew up on. Unfortunately, towards the end, money gets tight you know how it goes. Maintenance takes a backseat. The year before the dairy cows were sold was just like this..messing with dead batteries and more time spent monkeying around to do a simple task. It's what makes me appreciate good maintenance with my own stuff today
Adding to this comment.. I would go up to spread a load of manure after work. There would be a jump pack, actually hanging from a ratchet strap tied to the frame of one of the 1800s like it was permanently installed to the tractor instead of just getting batteries lol. Those were the days
Yeah its rough and sad when money is that tight. Usually then folks start getting really depressed because they can't keep things going the way they were and it can speed up the process. Makes a guy really appreciate the blessings he has.
Sometimes the worst part about being a diesel mechanic by trade and hobby farmer by night and help a lot of other people out you get to see just how bad some equipment gets used
my dad always would say when a tractor was in that shape and owned by someone like that but still worked he said "that tractor is a good one it just wants to work" lol there is some guys around here like that
I feel your pain. That’s about how it was when I would go do stuff for my uncle. Always more of a fight than it should’ve been. What’s the story on the 4-150 at your uncles? Doesn’t look like it’s been used it awhile.
Funny enough I just watched a vid of you bailing for your uncle from more than a year ago when you said your uncle was phasing out of the cattle. Looks like the same number are still there. That 4wd was also sitting in the same spot. What's the story on it?
Seems like that is the way it goes batteries are always dead when you want to move something what is up with the old 4x4 white you see in the background of the vid. Is it a 4-180?
My cousin has a 2-155 and I’ve driven it a time or two. Got it from a junkyard and from what he has told me all he ever did was take the head off to have the manifold surface resurfaced and put a different manifold because the other one was cracked or something I think. It’s a pretty solid tractor and I kinda like driving it. Sounds mean too. And also those old farmers with the messy farms and all the tractors and implements laying around have the best farms to explore and buy projects and old stuff from imo lol. My cousin is also like that but he does some maintaining. His place is still a bit of a mess tho haha.
Your uncle is one of those guys. I get so annoyed with those kind of my dad 🤣 s that kind of person. Oh it's making a noise, let's ignore it till it cost 3x as much to fix.
The tractors in 20 times worse shape than my Neighbours feeding tractor and it's been through hell it has over 11,000 hours and it's seen its fair share of hard labor
He definitely wasn’t raised this way. I promise Grandpa Brewer was watching you and grateful you helped your Uncle while he has medical issues! I am grateful you are not like him. I love him, but he makes me shake my head. At least you were able to feed the cows and make an entertaining video
Looks like a well used old White. Definitely would be a good one to save. I seen a couple Gleaner Combines on the way to get the bale. Those were good old machines. Most of the time the chore Tractor always started, might not have looked good. Looks like uncle is more of a hop it and run it guy, none of that fancy maintenance stuff. Thanks for the videos
I can't remember the last time I put batteries in my feeder tractor and skid loader, when ya run them every day they tend to last a long time but when there junk there dam well worth replacing😆 My dad was the same way as your uncle, fed cows with a 170 allis and it had a rag in the oil fill port, vice grips on the throttle, milker inflation over the shift lever😆. He was a cow man but not much for equipment maintenance.
Wow you're right that is an adventure. Too bad he's letting a tractor just fall apart in front of his eyes. I take it he is going to buy a different tractor when it breaks down, or plan B he's hoping it'll keep running until he retires from farming. Thanks Michael
You are correct. 2-155's were good tractors. We had 2 of them. Too bad it looks like that. You are doing the right thing kiddo. Funny that all of us who grew up on the farm had a neighbor just like this.
Do you know what model Gleaner combines those are? Not that they're anything worth saving, but I was kinda curious what they were. It's sad to see people treat equipment this way. I've had to operate some just as bad myself. "Oh lets work it until it self destructs and then spend tons of money fixing what started out as a small problem." Ya just can't fix stupid.
Wow! I can relate to that experience exactly! You had me laughing the whole time. After l stopped milking cows there was a guy in the next town over who lasted almost another 10 years. He had a free stall barn built for 60 cows back in the 70's and manged pile 130 milkers in it by the end. Cows were layed on the floor in the feed bunk etc. He'd call me to help when he got in a bind and of course you wanna feel bad. It was always an endless fuck around, one hassle right after the other. A few times l lost my shit and had to walk away. I used to tell him l could spend the day in a third world country and sleep in my own bed at.
I'm sorry to say, but from the state of Your Uncles equipment. Your Uncle would be better to rent out his land and sell the cattle. If you had to spend this much time getting the tractor to move he can't be that efficient. I've know a lot of old timer farmers that just can't give it up and end up old and broken. Because they break a bone or puncher skin when they are trying to fix something that was broken on equipment.
watching this as you were trying to put it in gear, I'm yelling at my computer "try the lever next to the shifter" like an idiot ...hahaha no hate at all just force of habit with ours ,grew up with a white 2-135 that i bought when the farm sold ...we had ratty whites for years somehow made 2,200 round bales a year with that and 2-105 good tractors, but maintenance is key. cool video to first ive seen you mess with whites and cow ,and stuff I've fought my whole life doing trying to feed cows with whites when its cold
How did I lnow all the etherwould be empty? I guess there's the how much to fix it? Can you replace it for less? How long do you need it? I guess when the feeds gone that's when you butcher them. You can pick you nose or ass but not your family.
@Mike Tidman Actually, no, but the goat was my highlight of my day. High school went terrible today, almost got in a crash, my tractor blew a tranmission seal, and my work got bought out.
I was trying to tell you the brake was on lol . But you didn't here me , I bet that was a nice tractor years ago ,it's a shame people don't take care of equipment but don't look like there's no place to put it inside. What a waste. From turkey creek farms be safe n thankful

The four empty cans of ether had me laughing. Thanks for another video!
Thanks for watching
Farm must be called "Run-out acres" Lol
At least the three point hitch works. It makes you appreciate your own tractors.
I was wondering for a minute.
4 cans of ether in the cab… that is something else!
And all empty
Taking care of family can be tuff. But you did it and made a great and enjoyable vidio of it.

Love it 😀 great Adventure
Thanks
We had a 2-155 2wd and the steering on all of them were funky with not many hours. I can’t recall what the design flaw was.
It’s just a Moline front axle. Can’t be to much wrong with them.
Hey at least the cab isn't half full up to the seat with beer cans and baling twine. Lol
There is that.
I wonder if the shift linkage is off enough that the gears are not all the way engaged and it's dragging on another gear a bit?
A flashlight is meant to hold dead batteries, just as a cab is a place for empty cans of either! 😅
I feel your pain. That’s about how it was when I would go do stuff for my uncle. Always more of a fight than it should’ve been. What’s the story on the 4-150 at your uncles? Doesn’t look like it’s been used it awhile.

It's kind of funny your next video had that tractor in an as-new promotional video.
Funny enough I just watched a vid of you bailing for your uncle from more than a year ago when you said your uncle was phasing out of the cattle. Looks like the same number are still there. That 4wd was also sitting in the same spot. What's the story on it?
3 or 4 have died since then.
Seems like that is the way it goes batteries are always dead when you want to move something what is up with the old 4x4 white you see in the background of the vid. Is it a 4-180?
We have a 2-135. Looks just like that one.
Wow, he obviously doesn't take very good care of his equipment as you do. Lol. He's lucky he is family, lol.
Tooth off of ring gear will make that noise and the 135 and 155 would break tooth sometimes not sure why because same rearend as 2-180
Sounds like a farmer I used to work for it was the same way lack of maintenance
It’s frustrating.
I know every time I went out to work for him I was like what are we going to be working on today
From the thumbnail I thought you had gotten your cab tractor into running condition and was wondering how I missed that?
Enjoyed the Ride along .at least the hay roll looked good.
It was pretty moldy.
Thanks for the comedy
Ah yea, great fun.
Always
That poor 155!!! Does it make you want to start working on your White now Ethan??

I want that crew cab blue Chevy
Guess some of the family is not as persnickety

WOW that was painful to watch, Them was really nice tractors.
Was being the key word.
Were any of the White tractors basically Oliver’s with different sheet metal after the name change?
The 2-70 sure as hell was. It was for all intents and purposes a 1655 with different sheet metal

if all i was doing was feeding cows id sell that tractor and buy a cheap old small gas burner
He just needs to get rid of the cows.
Depressing
Appears to me that somebody needs to forget about farming and let someone younger take over. Utterly pathetic.
