Proper quality in 70s Music , best decade for music ever .
I'm 64 and remember "Didn't Ya" from childhood. Still love it today but can only think of one thing and one girl when I hear it: Jackie Brown. And actually.... I look a little bit like Max Cherry😉👍👹
How in the world did the Blue Notes find a Soul singer with the same raspy voice as Teddy Pendergrass, Wow! Dramatics!
P anybody heard about a guy named David ruffin
@@wymelwilliams1139 I think David Ruffin was long dead by the time this concert took place. Guys got a great point. That singers voice is about as close to TP as your going to get. I lived in Philly for a few years in the early 80s at the time of TPs auto accident. After that for a few years I think Harold Melvin tried to lead and he wasn't bad, just not the same type of voice.
David passed away in 1991 and he never sang with the BlueNotes. The guy singing lead is incredible. He’s actually almost better than Teddy….which is freaky. Never heard anybody sound so much like TP. Anybody know his name?
@@wymelwilliams1139u slow?
Or Harold Melvin my favorite voice
The Stylistics musicians🔥🔥🔥
I had the opportunity to play for the Stylistics for many many years starting with the original singer Mr Russell Thompson Jr a real class act all three of them and had a chance to work with the music director Mr Kenny Thompson I learned a lot being with this act and how to be very sensitive to the music I also had a chance to work with other artists playing for them or just being on the same tour that's a school in itself I was there again when Russell was there and when he Departed from the group and Eban joined the group it was a pleasure drumming for both of them and Herb Murrell and Airron love. I Still remain. Emanuel White Jr E-man
What a show all the groups that I grew up listening to in the 70s now it,s 2023 and still sounds good thank you

the Blue notes are a legend...North & West Philly will never be the same..my school days spent watching and listening to Harold when the boy's began to form their group back in the 50's will never be forgotten. we never got any homework done and missed a few dinner's till our parents made us come in doors...Music was real and rich back in the day when we were all raised together. old school was music that you could understand, the lyrics and sounds were true. RIP: Bernard, Teddy, and Harold,,my friends, you are missed and loved..keep singing on the clouds until I see you when it is my season...the legacy continues...thank you for the memories of love...
Arigatoooooo~!THX

I remember seeing the stylistics In 1998 and remember how I didn't ever want their concert to end, even though there were only 3.of em.they sounded better than their records.
Unforgettable, I haven't seen nothing better. I am so blessed to have the original experience of real people, family, music. Memories are forever and a day

This is a wonderful selection
The trumpet player is with Russell Thompkins Jr and New Stylistics band for many years. Along with Kenny Thompson stage director and keyboard, Raymond Johnson who was with Stylistics 15 years, the choreographer, and nearly all of the band left with Russell in 2000 and are with him today.
This was when music was original and pure

@@toosteps 2003
I remember that song 🎵 😭 when you told me that you loved me.
Thanks for posting. I enjoyed watching this. I wish Eban was still their lead singer.
He's a great singer with perfect pitch.
Why would you want Eban? Russell Thompkins Jr was the lead singer for the Stylistics for 35 years. He and he alone recorded the Stylistics hit songs. All of them! Airion sang a few lines on 2 of their hits.
Eban was hired to imitate Russell when Russell left in 2000 and Russell still sings with his new Stylistics....all the songs He recorded.
He still tours at 71 yrs old and still sounds the same. He is voice of original Stylistics.
@@nancywood9531, Russell leads his own group. It doesn’t appear that he will be returning to the two “original “ Stylistics any time soon. Besides, if you have watched any interviews that he’s given, he has stated that he was no longer happy with the original singers. So , one reason I would like for Eban to return as lead singer. Another reason, he was there for 18 years and he was and still would be an excellent replacement for Russell. Finally, in my opinion, Bo’s voice was a better sound for the Temptations. (Bo, don’t respond to this comment again please. Your voice is great.)
HEY ; JUST A FRIENLY HEY HOPE ALL IS TREATING YOU WELL I JUST WATCH UR LIVE PERFORMANCE AN I WASN T SHOR HOW TO TAKE WITH YOUR LEAD SINGER I WATCH AN WHEN U ALL PUT OUT WORL DON T GET MUCH BETTER AN THAT SONG A THE LEAD SINGER HE PUT HIS WHOLE HEART AN SOUL INTO THAN SONG AN HE WAS DAMM GOOD BETTER THAN GOOD ON STONE U ALL DID FANTASTIC I REALLY MISS THE REAL DEAL OF OUR OLD SCHOOL MUSIC CURTIS MAYFIELD IS ONE OF ,MY FAV S BUT ITS SAD MORE THAN HALF OF WHAt use to be isn t but we have our memories an replay there music over an over i myself i don t have like cable tv why ? because its becoming so expensive for what ? but i so have my internet an u can believe the stuff i can get on internet u know u cannot get none of that so my computer is my tv i can watch anythang anytime so thats how i get to stay on top an to watch u all whenever i wish so , just thought i d send this comment to maybe see u all again live at some time well im in canada near the motor city but im in chatham ont 40 miles from detroit so peace all of u live with a happy heart byeeee

Where was this recorded? I think I was there!
I don't know where it was recorded. Sorry."
Yes Eban. Sing it
Younger Eban Brown was cutting up on his endings on a few of those songs hitting some incredible High notes WOW!
Yes
The Dramatics are great but just don't hit the original groups sound. .hard to try to get the sound of the original performer.
The Main Ingefient with Cuba Gooding Sr is awesome as usual. He looks so much like his son Cuba Gooding actor. Would have loved to see them both on stage singing together. Maybe a movie needs made about Main Ingredient with jr playing his dad.
Nancy Wood Hello 👋 no Cuba Gooding Sr doesn't look like his son Cuba Gooding Gooding Jr ( the actor ) Jr. looks like his father since Cuba Gooding ( Sr. )was on the scene first Take Care January 12,2022
@@sheiladavis6523 they look alike...father/ son. Sr even sounds like Jr's speaking voice. Always someone waiting to jump on a trivial comment. Jr looks like his dad! There! All happy now.
He's just a little too full of himself for my taste, I'm just saying , furthermore, I can never forget him for leaving his African American family, during the peak of his success , to be with a white woman !!!!!!!!!
you crazy. their best lineup was l.j. Reynolds, Willie Mays, Larry Demps, Ron Banks and Ford.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Brother ain't no Teddy P, but he does the song justice.
Very THX!!
Harold Melvin sounds 👍 wow! I remember you guys forever. Memories Memories. I hope that we can be together soon.
Luv the drams

It seems to be from.
@@toosteps wow!!!! Thanks for answering me! I haven't been able to figure it out yet either. Judging by Russell Thompkins Jr's age it was a bit ago. i should know. I'm an old lady in Ohio that was Blessed to live between Detroit and Philly in the late 60's early 70's. THANK YOU for posting this!!!!
