Watching this scene really highlights to me just how radically Sam's character changed as the series went on. The fact that they made him dumb later on just makes him feel like a different character
sam was the most mature glee guy. he wasn't uncomfortable with the idea of singing a duet with kurt, and even when blaine had a crush on him, he wasn't uncomfortable by it
This scene just proved that Finn is still homophobic. That crap about him apologizing to Kurt in season 1 was so fake. He was just scared of Burt. He is still homophobic.
@@XxBlueEyedxX Yes, I have. He outed Santana the next season and called Sues baby a slur in the 4th season. You commented that acting like he’s changed so much. He’s still the same crappy person.💀

this is an episode i just i don’t understand finn. no one would even know if kurt sang with sam? it’s just the choir room, no one but glee club sees what happens in there. it seems like finn’s projecting his self-consciousness onto sam and worried about people seeing him as gay, which to be fair one of the few times they use the word “bisexual” on this show is when finn is getting taunted by karofsky and azimio, especially because being quarterback or head cheerleader actually means something at this fictional school. the reality is finn’s trying to keep sam from being treated like kurt without acknowledging that that means kurt’s already being treated badly. maybe he thought kurt and sam would end up dating?? idk
Sam was a better persona than Finn in general... Finn was literally the weakest link and everyone forgave him just cuz he’s tall and acts like an idiot.
I’m still annoyed that Sam wasn’t Kurt’s boyfriend. He was literally written into the show to be Kurt’s first love interest. Especially watching this episode you can see the chemistry. If you don’t know what I’m talking about watch Sam after Kurt’s solo duet.
agreed. while I love Klaine, I think they could've make a great storyline come out of sam and Kurt dating, and then maybe they could've go in the klaine route

He was supposed to be. The Kurt/Sam relationship was announced the summer before season 2. It was set up in the first 3 episodes and then switch at the last minute for Quinn and Blaine. The creators talked about it at every panel/Interview they did in summer 2010. Their exact words were that Kurt and Sam were going to be a “Power Couple.”
tbh I honestly hated Finn throughout the show, like he's not a bad person but it's moments like this where it shows he has serious issues when comes to accepting people for who they are rather he tolerates them, he never truly accepted Kurt he mostly tolerated him. was Kurt being kinda predatory maybe a bit but instead of trying to understand where that was coming from Finn just basically flat out made him feel even more alone than he already was.
It's interesting--when a girl sings with a girl, it's totally normal and bestie-like. But when a guy sings with a guy, they're automatically gay. But why?
@@meltedcheese7798 Yeah. It's just like if a woman r@pes a man, it seems peculiar, less serious, or just plain laughable. But it can still happen, given that women can be just as strong and dangerous as men, right?

People going hard on Finn 😖 Remember... this was *2010* , a very, very different time than it is now. Don't judge the thoughts of a 17 years old boy from a small town in 2010 with the mentalities and open mindedness of today. It's 2 completely different world. I was the exact same age as Finn, Kurt, Rachel,... through the series and from a small town as well. In high school at that time, we didn't had a single openly gay kids at school. NONE. But if we did, I have no doubt in a situation like this, what Finn talked about would've definitely happened. Also, you should watch the video where Kurt talk to his dad about this. Burt brings a new perspective to the situation and makes a very good point that even Kurt seems to understand...
I don’t think Finn meant anything bad here. He was just trying to protect Sam from The bullies that he knew would go after him because they went after Finn for the same reason. I agree with both of them in this scene
No he wasn't trying to "protect" Sam. His real goal was preventing Sam from quitting so they could win Nationals. It was a selfish reason. If it had been any other guy who wasn't on the football team, Finn wouldn't have cared. He and Rachel only ever did things for anyone else if it benefited them
his argument literally makes zero sense. The bullies wouldn't even know Kurt and Sam did a duet together. It's only Glee club they performed the duets in front of lmao
