@@wowlssososl896but how can I use this video to determine if I want one? He hasn’t wore them? Doesn’t have them for the video… sounds like he’s just reading the details off the website.
Informative video but seems a waste including the Atom LT Hoody and the Atom LT Jacket. I do love the atom lt but honestly feel like it's abit redundant since the Proton LT came out, find myself always reaching for the proton instead of my atom nowadays.
The Proton is a better climbers jacket - but the Atom is still the best all-round piece. Especially since they make the side panels more wind resistant.
Very nicely made video, really. But I feel that you just googled them and never even seen them for real. If you did, why didn’t you put them on to show the fit?
Beta AR is nice but is just a shell with no insulation. I have this jacket and use it for packable weather protection. For Winter (in the UK), I use the Fission SV Jacket. Still Goretex-Pro but with insulation. Another nice jacket. Another favourite of mine is the Kole Down jacket, that's a nice casual. To mix it up on a cold day... Icebreaker Marino T-Shirt, Arc'teryx Covert Cardigan with Canada Goose Garson gilet and Beta AR if needed. Gamma MX pants. Nice.
I use the Atom LT as a middle layer, and each time I use it, I am amazed how warm it is for its weight. It's just a super comfortable jacket/mid layer. So for a shell - Beta AR, Alpha AR, or Zeta AR? I am going to buy one of these - any comments on the advantages or disadvantages of one vs the other? I ski a few times each winter, and I would use this then, so the hood needs to fit over my helmet covering my huge noggin. I'm also one of those guys that's kinda in between sizes; I'm an athletically built 5-10 205 with typical proportions, so sometimes an XL in some jackets gives me the shoulder room I need, but it fits like a tent, where the large might be tight in the shoulders and fit better in the torso. One more favor - a lightweight Arcteryx layer for use when riding my bike. I live in the Seattle area - we don't get a ton of rain, but we do get our share of drizzle with some wind. I am hoping to find a breathable jacket that is weather resistant but very breathable that I can use when riding my bike, a jacket that could possibly (not a requirement, though) double as an around town jacket. Trino? Squamish? Or...? Thanks in advance for your help!
Alpha AR should fit you a bit better. They are a little slimmer fit, and seem to taper down through the lower stomach and waist. I'm about the same height as you, similarly athletic, but weigh about 15-20lbs more and wear the Beta SV, so the alpha AR should do well.
@@angus2248 thanks! I suspect you wear the XL? I am torn between a large and an XL. I checked out the Zeta; that seems like an awesome option, too, but the hood isn’t cut to fit over helmets.
I'm looking for a winter jacket for hiking in the mountains - was looking at the Cerium SV, but am now wondering if it's overkill and a Cerium LT might suffice and be warm enough. Any opinions?
My sister got the cerium Lt and I got the cerium sv my sv was good for -15c with strong gusts.but I think the fabric is fragile but it's very packable.
Thanks for making this video. What are your thoughts on Gamma LT jacket with hoody? I am planning to wear this daily (doing little to no activity and temps ranging from 3-5 degree celsius). And, when I am planning to go to extreme places then I would add another layer of atom lt jacket (without hoody).
This video is not very useful. Your info sounds like you're reading it from the manufacturer's website. How about giving actual info that helps people make a decision, and your use and opinions.
Great products - very poor customer services.Would never order anything directly from the company - an arrogant attitude is not customer friendly in any business or walk of life.
@Daniel Rzehak agreed. I work nights outdoors and the atom lt hoodie has effectively limited my wardrobe to that jacket alone for work. I did have probably 5 or 6 different options I would choose from for temperatures and weather between 60 all the way down to the teens farenheit. Now I only need this jacket. No matter what its light, warm, breathable, can take everything but a downpour, and is insulative in high wind. If you do the math, then the price paid is equal to or less than the value of all those other items I had. And there's no switching them when temperatures rise and fall, or when weather moves in. It simplifies life which I value.
I've had my beta ar for years. Great combined with atom for active winter hiking in cold temps
I have the atom and was looking for a new outer-layer for the freezing winters of Canada. Appreciate your input, now I know :)
how cold we talking ? cause i live in minnesota and i have both and i was wondering how warm
Prices went up substantial. Great product I agree.
Summer time is the best time of buying them . Usually they have 30% off I got the Squamish hoodie for $130 🤝
My number 1 is Atom Heavyweight. My number 2 is Squamish . My number 3 is Delta LT.
And he isn’t wearing any of them?
Therye a lot bro

After seeing your first 4 picks I knew your number 1 was going to be the Beta AR
I was not expecting a pony tail at the end.
😉
Alpha SV is the flagship model. The only one still totally made in Canada. This list is nothing without it!!

I have both. The Atom feels slightly more cosy to wear, like being enveloped in a warm cloud. I particularly like the fleece lined pockets.
I wear the atom LT vest under a Proton LT :)
Thanks for the video. Actually, the Atom jacket is not a soft shell jacket.
Very nicely made video, really. But I feel that you just googled them and never even seen them for real. If you did, why didn’t you put them on to show the fit?
Please help recommend the temperature. And give me the right weather to buy a Beta jacker.
The Arc'teryx Beta jacket is best suited for wet and windy conditions, typically in temperatures ranging from 10°C (50°F) to -5°C (23°F).
Beta LT is the goat

I have THE beta AR , and every other in this video😂 THE ar can be a bit Short for biking IF you lean forward.
great review thnx, any thoughts on the ARCTERYX KODA JACKET?
The company is currently a subsidiary of Chinese sportwear company Anta.
Tell me more. Do you know the manufacture who produces their gear?
Awesome video, thx dude
I have a Beta AR. To coin a London phrase, it is the bollocks.
What was the ranking criteria? Each jacket has a different purpose.
Fashion man, fashion.
Probably which one serves its purpose the best?
@@jonathanmark4306 In theory that does make sense. In reality this guy just ranked their most popular jackets.
atom LT , Beta AR and Alpha SV the rest are meh there are better priced alternatives like mountain equipment or Rab if you need a down jacket.
Thanks for posting
Great vid! I wish to know what you took into account to choose Thorium over Cerium?
That's what I want to know. Cerium SV looks really nice
How on earth is the Squamish and atom better than all of the betas, zetas and alphas
Thanks for the video , very helpful :)
Any time!
WE BAREEEE IN DA ATOM LT HOODIEEE
Did they change the hood of beta this year?

All ROUND
AR doesn't stand for 'All Around'...that would be AA.
AR stands for 'All Round'
...basics
Where is the alpha jacket?
Is the atom sv hoodie a good winter jacket for hiking?
Can you give us a video about the new Gore-Tex Infinium Jackets?
You probably won't get one since infinium is really poor
Why font you show them on you? Do you not own them?

top price terrible product
BS! The jackets, all of them! Simply are NOT worth the cost.

How many ArcTeryx jackets have you owned? Just curious about how well you know them, have used them to be able to say they are not worth it?
Ikr. 🙄 I knew this comment would be fanboy attacked. Smh
@Dan Rzehak ahah, well said.
I've just got the beta sv and it keeps me bone dry when legging it from my front door to the car. Worth every penny it does its job well.
The Atom LT and every other jacket in the Atom line is NOT soft shell!
How about you make videos about things you actually know about
