Conte has won 5 league titles in the past 11 years, taking over a Juventus that finished 7th, a Chelsea that finished 10th, and an Inter that finished 9th. He's an elite manager. The issue is Tottenham and Daniel Levy.

should he have said it? professionally probably not but he was 100% correct about what he said. I am not a spurs fan but the main issue at the club is not players, a manager, tactics or even transfers. There is a culture of failure that permeates that club from the very top to the very bottom.
The simple answer is when all is said and done, it's okay not to win at spurs. I remember Poch saying something like "trophies aren't everything" and there wa a bit of an outcry but that's it, the fans barely batted an eye. Why it took so long for Darren Lewis to be on TV regularly is beyond me. Always wrote the best stuff in the daily mirror 20 years ago.
Anyway, situation is simple, and it's what conte is saying, what Jose said, what poch said, what redknapp said, what Jol said, and even what Hoddle said: Daniel Levy signs the players via the sporting director/DoF. The manager has no control. Inevitably the balance falls one way and the manager gets sacked because the squad is not good enough to meet Levys expectations. Every manager under the Enic regime has suffered from the same thing: hit and hope recruitment.
I think conte should have been gone weeks ago, but I'm delighted that he has had the chance to say his piece publicly. The hilarious part being that "shrewd businessman" levy has twice painted himself into a corner where it'll cost the club millions to do what comes naturally to him. Spursy shambles again. As Arsenal fans we have done that not so long ago really...
Conte left you guys with a VIOLATION and a half... And it's so provably true... What more can be said?
Conte has forgotten he's won more trophies then spurs have won in a very very loooonnggg time

@@charleswhite8603 "20 years there is the owner and they never won something, but why?" While he's not without fault and even if he was just trying to get the sack, lots of us Spurs fans actually agree with everything he said. Absolutely not, you can only get through so many managers before you have to step back and realize perhaps they aren't the reason for spurs failures.

Tottenham have won an fa Cup and league Cup since 84. Almost 40 yrs.
Conte is a top pro. He sees the abysmal apathy that's embedded in this once big team. Spurs are crap. Inconsistent, and throphyless since 91 except the league Cup in 09 in memory serves me. Crap. Conte is shooting from the hip, and being honest. Theyll go through another 20 yrs of managers maybe winning one fa cup along the way. Absolutely mediocre for such a once historically big team.

That's Antonio Conte for you, In the UK they chalk it up to ''passion'', we saw him in action before and we know that's simply him looking to be sacked with all the severance package. He made of course valid points but he neglected to say that he had three transfer windows to improve the squad and he preferred to help out Juventus and his partner in crime Paratici, overpaying players which are nor bringing much to the cause.

If only Spurs employed someone like a Head Coach whose job it would be to get the best out of players, instill a "winning" menality winthin the squad , employ agressive winning strategy and tactics on the pitch, and prepare properly for games.

If they really want to win anything in the near future there must be a mentality switch from top to bottom.
Winning the League Cup + European spot should be the bench mark.

Conte is a winner & he's not come to Spurs to win nothing. The players should look at themselves but they are more interesting in counting thelr wages.
The players should think more about the fans as well as the club. They have flattered to deceive this season.
The biggest disappointing thing is the way they went out of the FA Cup & the whimpering way they went out of the Champions League. The only shining light is Harry Kane.
