he wept and whispered... this album has the worst sounding distorded guitars. Impossible to clean them up...
First song of theirs I listened to and will forever have a place in my heart. Magic.
For me that would be the Still Life album. First time i heard it, started loving Opeth, before than, a few songs that i heard, i didn't enjoy them.
same !! it was the first song of theirs I listened to
Same dude. One of the best songs to pop up on UA-cam recommended.
Sounds amazing, makes me wish Opeth would go back and give their older albums this loving treatment. Bravo!
Love that bass!
Please, do the entire album
Amazing work!
You're right about the distorted guitar sound but I don't know why I like it. It's so unique
This is not to be a smartass, First, he's quite likely running the guit fiddle through a phase-shifter (Slow wave setting) +overdrive + compressor (probably on low compression). I run my tunes through an EQ (APO Equalizer) to a set of Rosewill studio monitors. Here's my board set-up for this particular song:
Volume - However loud you want it. Just watch the clipping---my max for this piece was at system volume 63. however I could have cranked it up a bit more.

I don't particularly think you have to have the Rosewill's. They are nice. Compact, inexpensive on NEWegg or perhaps some other. The EQ is amazing and free for download on Open Source - www.SourceForge.com.
Personally the sound I got for this is friggin awesome. The guitar is set as such for the feel of knife blades piercing the heart and soul i think. At least as a musician that's my thinking.
Peace Out
Take Care
Righteous song BTW!!
Excellent quality .
Remaster everything from orchid-my arms your hearse my man! The rest of opeth is untouchable in my eyes! Amazing job! Best band ever!
Still Life and Blackwater Park could use some work (not sure if I'm the guy for it tho) but the rest of them are pretty much perfectly mixed and mastered. (except Sorceress, but i did that one)
I have the entite Orchid album remastered, but UA-cam wouldn't let me post the full album unfortunately
Lapse Of Judgment ah ok, could post it song by song? To me, still life, and blackwater park, can’t sound differently from what they do now.. They are my two favourite albums of all time, and can’t be changed in my opinion.. Actually my arms, your hearse has something going with it’s muffled sound as well when i think about it... But could be i teresting to hear a remaster of it.. But the mix in my arms your hearse really fits it’s concept in a way..
I agree, that kind of production on MAYH gives it great dark atmosphere, which makes the album more unique in their discography.
@@lapseofjudgment7382 could you please upload "Orchid remastered" somewhere in 320 kb
The two songs you have uploaded are stunning
Amazing, dude! Thanx for the remastering and upload!
I wonder what Opeth would sound like today if they never lost their bassist of the first two albums?
Or Martin Lopez. The feel he brought with his drumming was incredible
@@PaulFurn89 the drummer in this Album wasnt Lopez either. He came into the band in the next album My Arms Your Hearse
@@animusora yea I never said this album.
Im glad they did. Apart from the production and Mikaels vocals the thing I liked the least on the first two albums was the bass. Tracks and sound.
@@lehtokurppa7824 what the fuck? Honestly, bass is what makes this album more special than the others. I'm pretty sure that this song wouldn't be that good if not the bass...
Awesome job! If any album of theirs deserves a remaster it's this one... Although Damnation and Deliverance got really bad remasters. Ghost Reveries, for me, has the best guitar tone and production of any album ever. I love the "cover art" too!
The soundtrack of my life, remastered
T h a n k s ❣️
Yeah the original guitars sound horrible! I'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks that lmao, incredible music tho, and also a great remaster.
Excellent quality! Thank you!
OK this does sounds better
This remaster sounds great, better than original.
Awesome, subbed and notifications!
amazing work. keep it up
New subscriber, nice job!
You have really done a great job with this album, I ask you, would you be so kind to leave a download link of this remaster in mp3 320 kbps? The truth is that I really liked it, especially the sound of the guitars.
yes please more ...
Well done
The description is suoer funny, ive always thought the heavy guitar tone on this album blew
Kaathe has never been more right
U might be biased, but does Kaathe sound like a good metal band name? Asking for a friend
@@lapseofjudgment7382 im more prithe to Darkstalker myself!
I wanna see what opeth would be like if they still had pete lindgren and Martin Lopez
Noone can win over opeth😅
Hi Mikael, what's up
Yooo its Mike from Otep
subbed! I make Opeth remakes too (I wanna do guitar and vocal covers but my phone cam sucks and I'm unmotivated so I'm making 8 bits for now)
Really cool 8-bit remakes!
@@lapseofjudgment7382 thanks!
Now if MAYH could get a good remaster
Does it need it?
Charles Miller It does. It sounds muddy and is prone to clipping. You can’t play it very loud without getting ugly, grating sounds from it. Still Life had this problem to a lesser extent. Blackwater Park was the first Opeth album to have high quality production
@@Meshuggapeth Intradesting. I think I know what you mean about the clipping. Only ever listened to it through headphones though, never speakers.
I think that Blackwater Park is also a little muddy, not as much as Still Life and MAYH, but definitely not as clean as later ones.
