Perfect pitch doesnt mean you can "parrot" a sound back to a person, just that you can distinguish a sound as being the same as another sound from memory. For example, I have perfect pitch; Doesnt mean I have the range to perfectly mimic my GF, or that I can miraculously sing perfect soprano. It takes training, like Dan said, to be able to name notes. It takes the same amount of training to be able to replicate those notes verbally. Its entirely a brain thing, not a vocal thing. Lots of people can have perfect pitch and just be awful singers because they never practiced. I, for one, have a hard time matching notes vocally because I simply do not know how to use my vocal cords effectively, BUT I can play Star Wars (Main Title) on a clarinet despite not knowing which fingerings make what notes, AND the fact that Im musically illiterate (meaning I cant read sheet music). What my perfect pitch DOES do for me is I can tell when something is discordant. Basically, if someone misses a note on a song I know, I can be like "Ah, yeah... no, that sounds wierd.
I wish Arin and Dan had done a series for MHW up to Xeno'Jiva. I wonder which weapons each of them would end up playing. I wonder which monsters they would have had trouble with. Which would be there favs. So many unanswered questions. But for the time we got, it was amazing. Dan strikes me as a Hunting Horn player, keep blowin' horn maestro!
