    Hi Carie: Like a lot of people here, I'm new to Midori and was a little confused how to get them all together. You made PERFECT sense, and this was exactly what I was looking for. Makes me wish I had seen this before spending a small fortune for an Erin Condren...which still hasn't even arrived. Hoping I'll come up with another need for a Midori. Thanks for all of your great ideas. ❤️

    Carie you're an absolute GENIUS! I've tried so many ways to get my notebooks in there properly, but none worked as well as yours! Every other time the books were sticking out too much, but now they're perfect :)

    Had a good laugh at this video :)
    I'm quite sure, in the mean time, you figured different and maybe more effective ways out.
    I wondered how many elastics I would need to get my 9 inserts and 3 folders in and if it even would be possible, with this method. I need 4 extra elastics to do this and you needed two for 3 inserts.
    I actually like to see when people try new things or figure them out, because sometimes even in the chaotic trial and error, there are actually nice new ideas that come up.

    • @CarieHarling
      @CarieHarling  6 років тому +1

      This video makes me giggle now too! ;) The addition of multiple elastics into notebooks pretty much eliminated the need for all of the extra jump bands!

    • @Tippel3
      @Tippel3 6 років тому

      I still use TN with only one string, because I just don't like when there are more. Everything more than 2 strings in one Notebook actually limitates me more than the opposit. I can't get 9 inserts +3 folders in a TN with 3 or 4 strings because there is not enough room in between the strings but if there is only one, I just need 4 extra elastics to do it without any problem.

      Are you having issues with my videos working? If so, let me know and I'll see if it's me or UA-cam who's acting up! :) That insert is the Lightweight Paper Midori Insert (Number 013). I wish I could get it in a lined version, or with a really light grid. I am in deep love with that paper.

    wow you're video is really easy to understand and helps me to know how a midori works. Thank You ^_^ ...... now i want one, hehehe. oh! one question though are all the item/add-ons midori products or you specially customize/made the others(something like that, sorry cant really explain it very well)

    • @CarieHarling
      @CarieHarling  10 років тому

      rieleva It's a mixture of stuff in there, actually. The first booklet is a Midori blank notebook. The second notebook is one I printed from Ray Blake's website (www.mylifeallinoneplace.com). The third is one I printed from some DIYFish inserts.

    I just got my new fauxdori I ordered today and this video may of just saved me from some frustration/disappointment. All the other videos I saw had two holes side by side for inside elastics. Mine however has two holes one vertically under the other. Which looks like this one also has? I love your idea for stuffing more books in.
    Do you find you are forever smooshing one side of your inserts further (back) in the TN. I have an extra wide and I thought there would be leather along the bottom/top to prevent it from over hang like the width did. But I'm guessing with the lower hole this is always going to be an issue?
    It's only day one and it is starting to drive me crazy.

    • @CarieHarling
      @CarieHarling  9 років тому +2

      unorthodoxmama I know *exactly* what you mean here! In my notebooks that have a single spine elastic, I am *forever* smoosing that one insert back in! I have learned a few more things about stuffing notebooks since I made that video... here they are!
      1. The more flexible the leather, the more you can stuff it. So, before I put inserts into any notebook, I roll the notebook in every which direction to break down the fibers a bit. Rolling can do incredible things for a piece of leather, and the extra flexibility will help the spine to accommodate more inserts.
      2. Jennifer's first video on how to stuff a notebook:ua-cam.com/video/aIy2VbHccac/v-deo.html
      3. Jennifer's second video on another way to stuff a notebook: ua-cam.com/video/9F4l9PFL5qg/v-deo.html
      I hope that helps! Let me know, ok?!

    • @unorthodoxmama
      @unorthodoxmama 9 років тому

      Carie Harling Thank you so much! There were a few issues with my fauxdori, in the end I am getting it remade and shipping this one back. She is going to add more strings in this one so I will go less insane..hopefully.
      Glad in the end, to have it resolved but I can not wait to have a fauxdori in my hands that I love and keep!
      I made a couple inserts, and after a few days of regular use (and the weight that goes with all the planner/journaling) stuff I carry, I can see the appeal of a Field Notes size haha.
      Thank you so much for your help!

      You are correct, it's the lighweight paper insert (number 013). I wish they made it with a really light grid printed on it... it's just lovely paper.

  • @hovawart16

    I thought this was really clear--have more faith in yourself! My question is, I see you have the front cover of the middle notebook marrying the middle of the front notebook with an elastic band, and likewise, the back cover of the middle notebook marrying the middle of the back notebook with an elastic band. Is this more stable than marrying just the front cover of the middle notebook with the back cover of the front notebook, and the back cover of the middle notebook with the front cover of the back notebook (rather than going to the middles)? Also, you mentioned how much you love the paper in these notebooks, and I missed what paper it is.

      I like both for different reason/uses. I prefer my DIYFish inserts in my Filofax for day-to-day planning and forward planning. However, I prefer my Midori setup for project planning and tracking analytics.
