- I don't believe there is a Right or Wrong way to load your MTN... this is just how I do it. So far, it's working beautifully for me.

Hi Carie: Like a lot of people here, I'm new to Midori and was a little confused how to get them all together. You made PERFECT sense, and this was exactly what I was looking for. Makes me wish I had seen this before spending a small fortune for an Erin Condren...which still hasn't even arrived. Hoping I'll come up with another need for a Midori. Thanks for all of your great ideas. ❤️
Thank you so much, this was just the perfect particular video i was looking for without permanently binding the pages to the actually spine with multiple signatures... 📖❤ Note:📜 I luv your journal📕 it all make sense...
Super helpful!
Not as intimidated now by the Midori style notebooks!
Thank you!
Another awesome video! I LOVE all your videos! They are always fun and informative. I'm going to be spending some time this weekend adding pockets to my fauxdori. Many thanks! : )
I'm so glad you found it helpful!
Carie, This was perfectly clear how you explained it. Thank You, I wasn't sure how to do the extra bands. Great video. ( yes I know it is several years old) Have a great day !
This is very helpful! Great job. Love your bubbling personality!
Carie you're an absolute GENIUS! I've tried so many ways to get my notebooks in there properly, but none worked as well as yours! Every other time the books were sticking out too much, but now they're perfect :)
Seriously u thought u made no sense but u totally did! Thank u so much!
damn that's how you do it!!! i was using the shorter elastic but it was damaging the pages! thanks!😀
Thank you for sharing your video...you made perfect sense!!! I've just found out about the Midori notebooks and absolutely love them!! But I was confused about how the inserts fitted in...so your video helped a lot Hugs! Melanie :)
I'm glad it helped... when I was recording it I was feeling like I wasn't making a whole lot of sense... :)
Hey hun you could also take the front and back nite books use one elastic in centre of both lay thrm flat and side front one under middle note book.
You made sense you do a great job
Luv ya heaps
Grace
Thank you Carie, this really helps! :) I just couldn't visualize it on my own!
I loved this video. It is nice to see others who feel like they don't make sense. you did though. thank you for the share. i am considering gettibg a midori And infound this quite helpful.
Thanks for this, it makes sense to me and thanks for the links for the Kraft Folder, will be watching how to create one of those.
was just watching your video! i live in the czech republic and noticed you have the astrological clock on your journal cover! how fun! love your videos!
Laura Owen I love that picture! It's one of my absolute favorites. I am determined one day to visit just so I can see that clock in person!
Hi Carie, thanks for this information, its make sense now to me how to put it together, you're so awesome, i really love watching your videos everyday, you make it easy when you explain stuff, love it.
Thank you so much!!
Had a good laugh at this video :)
I'm quite sure, in the mean time, you figured different and maybe more effective ways out.
I wondered how many elastics I would need to get my 9 inserts and 3 folders in and if it even would be possible, with this method. I need 4 extra elastics to do this and you needed two for 3 inserts.
I actually like to see when people try new things or figure them out, because sometimes even in the chaotic trial and error, there are actually nice new ideas that come up.
This video makes me giggle now too! ;) The addition of multiple elastics into notebooks pretty much eliminated the need for all of the extra jump bands!
I still use TN with only one string, because I just don't like when there are more. Everything more than 2 strings in one Notebook actually limitates me more than the opposit. I can't get 9 inserts +3 folders in a TN with 3 or 4 strings because there is not enough room in between the strings but if there is only one, I just need 4 extra elastics to do it without any problem.
You made perfect sense. Great video.
That's great Carie!
finally a video that works thank you & you were taking about the paper from your first book that you love & will be getting again where do you get ur paper from & thank you so very much
Are you having issues with my videos working? If so, let me know and I'll see if it's me or UA-cam who's acting up! :) That insert is the Lightweight Paper Midori Insert (Number 013). I wish I could get it in a lined version, or with a really light grid. I am in deep love with that paper.
first, great video it helped e alot! second, your GORGEOUS! ;)
Thank you for sharing! Excellent explanation :D I'll be purchasing a confettidori very soon :)
Thank you! Super helpful! I really enjoy your videos... so glad I found your channel :-)
Thank you!
Phenomenal job. I will check out Jennifer's too. This has been most helpful.
I found it great! Very helpful. Thanks a lot
When people say my name on videos I automatically wave at them on the screen without even realising I'm doing it! :D
I'm glad you waved back!! :)
wow you're video is really easy to understand and helps me to know how a midori works. Thank You ^_^ ...... now i want one, hehehe. oh! one question though are all the item/add-ons midori products or you specially customize/made the others(something like that, sorry cant really explain it very well)
rieleva It's a mixture of stuff in there, actually. The first booklet is a Midori blank notebook. The second notebook is one I printed from Ray Blake's website (www.mylifeallinoneplace.com). The third is one I printed from some DIYFish inserts.
Great video, interesting to see how you link all your booklets together. Sadly the link to the 6 pocket kraft folder doesn't work. 🙁
I just got my new fauxdori I ordered today and this video may of just saved me from some frustration/disappointment. All the other videos I saw had two holes side by side for inside elastics. Mine however has two holes one vertically under the other. Which looks like this one also has? I love your idea for stuffing more books in.
Do you find you are forever smooshing one side of your inserts further (back) in the TN. I have an extra wide and I thought there would be leather along the bottom/top to prevent it from over hang like the width did. But I'm guessing with the lower hole this is always going to be an issue?
It's only day one and it is starting to drive me crazy.
unorthodoxmama I know *exactly* what you mean here! In my notebooks that have a single spine elastic, I am *forever* smoosing that one insert back in! I have learned a few more things about stuffing notebooks since I made that video... here they are!
1. The more flexible the leather, the more you can stuff it. So, before I put inserts into any notebook, I roll the notebook in every which direction to break down the fibers a bit. Rolling can do incredible things for a piece of leather, and the extra flexibility will help the spine to accommodate more inserts.
2. Jennifer's first video on how to stuff a notebook:ua-cam.com/video/aIy2VbHccac/v-deo.html
3. Jennifer's second video on another way to stuff a notebook: ua-cam.com/video/9F4l9PFL5qg/v-deo.html
I hope that helps! Let me know, ok?!
Carie Harling Thank you so much! There were a few issues with my fauxdori, in the end I am getting it remade and shipping this one back. She is going to add more strings in this one so I will go less insane..hopefully.
Glad in the end, to have it resolved but I can not wait to have a fauxdori in my hands that I love and keep!
I made a couple inserts, and after a few days of regular use (and the weight that goes with all the planner/journaling) stuff I carry, I can see the appeal of a Field Notes size haha.
Thank you so much for your help!
really helpful video, thank you so much :) i wish i knew how to print all these amazing inserts, i find it really confusing :(
Are you still having trouble printing the inserts? Let me know and I'll see if I can help... otherwise, if you're a member of the DIYFish Facebook group, there's someone there who prints and ships them to you.
I am dying to know which insert you said that was "delicious" ;D is that the lightweight that has 128 pages? Please let me know. THANK YOU! LOOOOOVED your video and you did make sense to me. :)
You are correct, it's the lighweight paper insert (number 013). I wish they made it with a really light grid printed on it... it's just lovely paper.
I thought this was really clear--have more faith in yourself! My question is, I see you have the front cover of the middle notebook marrying the middle of the front notebook with an elastic band, and likewise, the back cover of the middle notebook marrying the middle of the back notebook with an elastic band. Is this more stable than marrying just the front cover of the middle notebook with the back cover of the front notebook, and the back cover of the middle notebook with the front cover of the back notebook (rather than going to the middles)? Also, you mentioned how much you love the paper in these notebooks, and I missed what paper it is.
Was actually easy to follow lol
Hey. I realize that you use the raydori's bullet journal. It's very much practical, isn't it?
Haven't watched the full video yet, Filofax or midori ? What's your fav? I'm so disgusted with the lack of Filofax selection. Jan
I like both for different reason/uses. I prefer my DIYFish inserts in my Filofax for day-to-day planning and forward planning. However, I prefer my Midori setup for project planning and tracking analytics.
How did you print these... pages don't go to the edge...ugh...can you help
I printed on letter-size paper, so both the top and side needed to be trimmed (the side more than the top).
How do you stick your sticky note down so they don't fall out?
There are a few there that definitely don't like to stay put. I put a little adhesive on the back of the last one and stick them to the cardstock with it.
Oh thanks matey.
Carie
Girllll just use a jump band
What size TN is this?
How much does your Midori weight?
Oh, my, I don't know! I don't have a scale here at the house. Its pretty light -- not heavy enough to feel uncomfortable (to me, at least).
I told myself I would describe if your other videos are as good as this one.
*klick* Now you have 8.952!
