Being from Nova Scotia Sydney and Cape Breton is beautiful especially at fall where you can see the beautiful fall colours. Fortress Louisburg is a wonderful place to visit there is so much to see here .
Enjoying your videos!! I’m originally from Nova Scotia and I just wanted to let people know that there is lots more to see while in port in Sydney. Louisbourg is a historical French fortress is very interesting to see. The Bras d’Or lakes and the Cabot Trail are wonderful to visit depending on the time in port.
We have a NE/ Canada cruise coming up in September and this video reminded me to add an umbrella to our packing list! I'm sorry it was a rainy day but thank you for the reminder.
We haven't made it there yet, as it's a good little distance from the port. We thought about hopping the city bus over there though, and we might do that next time. We've seen that they have a grave for "J. Dawson" which because super popular because folks thought was for the fictional Jack Dawson from the 1997 movie. Funny!! :P
@@parodeejay there are so many graves also from Dec 6, 1917 which is the Halifax Explosion. Quite an interesting place if you like that kind of stuff. I’ve been there a couple of times.
We are going on NE/Canada cruise in Sept, so loving these videos of Halifax and Sydney. Can I ask, do you get Canadian dollars B4 your cruise for small purchases of food, coffee, tips, etc? Or will they accept credit cards even for small purchases under 10.00? Wondering if exchanging 100.00 is enough or too much.

Definitely would have done a tour here.
I love all your videos. You both are great people.
I did the pub crawl. It was rainy, but we cared less and less as we crawled along. They make crazy good cider in Sydney!

Yeah, I think I would do an excursion or tour here rather than wander.
That fresh made fried rice is da BOMB!!
Dee - you are a lefty! I just knew it by your personality. I am not a lefty, but SO many members of my family are! Love it!
Is
Aw, fiddleships!! the thing to say in Sydney
Y’all will have to give me the directions to Tim Hortons when we get there in September. I’ve always wanted to try them.
We took a private taxi tour to the fantastic fort, lighthouse, railroad museum and countryside. Super guide. Weather was good for us.

Us too on Celebrity Summit.
I'd never seen the snake eggs! Boy did he slice fast!
This looks like a great cruise. I love the itinerary. ❤
Went there on a cruise last year there was a used bookstore downtown that had shop cats
We did pretty much the same as you and it was raining in 2015 too. Only we came out of the Casino with Canada donating to us.
When you have been in Halifax, did you get to Fairview Cemetery? They have a large Titanic section.

Did you have a map app you used for your walking adventure? We want to just walk and explore. Thanks for any insight.
We just wandered around using Apple Maps or Google Maps, hitting anything that looked interesting!! :P
@@parodeejay Thanks, we'll use Google maps I'll have to make sure I learn the proper way to use it. I'm not a great smart phone user lol.
Very pretty town, the tourist attractions don't look particularly accessible though.
I wish you guys would feature more of the meals that you guys are eating. It sure would be more helpful.
We've been doing extensive evening talks about most all of our dinners, specialty or otherwise, in every vlog recently!! :P

We didn't get any CAD for our trip, as cards seemed to be accepted everywhere we went. It can't hurt to have some though, just in case!! :P
