For roller hockey I would recommend the wrap-around with normal tape, this will give you less friction with the plastic bottom but won’t ruin you stick
He might be like me, I’ve always been out shooting in the winter but never learned proper technique + my skating is ass. Now that I’ve started really playing hockey it’s super difficult to learn everything but I’m getting there

That's all I've used for the past 15 years! Love it, I have pulled off the Michigan many times with it, easy. I also play the laid back men's league, so I'm nothing spectacular.
Dude!! You got some hands for just starting to play. Pretty impressive. Played hockey my whole life, and usually when people hold a stick they turn brain dead lol. Keep it up!
Dudes a god, dudes got a better backhand than me and I’ve been playing since I was 5 and I’m 13, he went bad and post with that backhander, and he can lift the puck up without using the boards!
Blade tape works well but does cost a bit when you constantly need to buy more rather then a tape roll lasting longer. Another tape similar that I’d suggest is Reztech Hockey Tape. You can get it in white or black now, or even get custom ones if you want to spend more.
4.5 months is pretty good on how well you played ❤ I've been playing for 6 years. I'm 10 so I started when I was 4. I started skating at 3. I love hockey 🏒 it's my fav sport and I hope someday I make it to the NHL. Hope u succeed in your hockey mission. ❤
I used blade tape since it came out. Best non-tape product out there. And non of my sticks are damaged or broken from the outside exposure of the blade.
I used these on my kids sticks for a couple seasons... cleaning the blade with a tiny bit of lacquer thinner will help keep them on much longer... once they hit peewees though , they get torn up after a game or two tops. Tape is better if you figure out long term costs ... Howies always has deals on tape 🤘🎅🤘
Yo bro i just started hockey, im 13 and started 2 months ago. But I am a big fan of ur channel but im on the journey like you. Im from California where we dont really get a winter also but my mom got a new jom in MA so i thought it would be cool to try winter sports.
Awesome backhand 🔥 you are improving so fast it’s awesome! Have you tried power skating lessons on ice it’s hard work but helps a lot. Loving Slapshot rebound so far after seeing it on your channel. ❤

I thought it was Mexican wrap. Nod to Matthews. I'd imagine that this tape won't make it to the NHL. But try grip tape for skateboarding. It will stick and it's durable. Please let us know how it works
I do not like blade tape once you get on the ice with it it’s way to grippy and you can’t stick handle a better alternative to a blade sticker is reztech but in my opinion tape is the best
For roller hockey I would recommend the wrap-around with normal tape, this will give you less friction with the plastic bottom but won’t ruin you stick
No, every true hockey player has that one road hockey stick with a blade thats shorter than the puck 😂
Buddy says in the video that not having full tape was better cause the tape isn't grabbing and creating friction
I scrape the bottom on pavement before so then it’s just the plastic wrap around on the bottom. Also you won’t ruin your stick
Grip tape for skateboards. Try that
@@Aze_osui have an old ass CCM twig that’s about an inch tall on the blade lmaooo

Nice stick lift on that goal
That’s dude! Definitely been trying to get better at that, I was doing it waaay to early for a while and kept getting mine popped up right after 😂😅

tape is really good on ice because there is very little friction. for extra grip, use wax

Your pretty good for a guy who started 4 months ago which makes sense on why it’s slow paced but just remember to keep practicing
Nice goal🎉
Blade tape is old school man!!! Stuff was huge in the early 2000’s. I think it was ahead of it’s time
That was a sick goal! For four and a half months, you’re doing great! Keep it up!
This is actually pretty great for street hockey…the only thing is tape on the bottom prevents the blade from turning into a “pickle stabber”
Love your sweatshirt
Man I love this series so much

Hey thanks so much dude!
The rubber blade tape is for roller hockey specifically but they make different ones for ice hockey.

Thanks man!
i hated using that grip when i played ice hockey for the exact reason you were about to say
for only playing for 4 months you are killing it.

I go with black tape. The reason is that the puck blends in with it
Nice goal
I used to watch you when u first started this journey and wow you've got so much better love to see it 💯
Definitely try reztek I got some a couple months ago and its amazing!
That’s next on my list!
You’re really good at hockey for your first time
Thanks so much dude!
The roller blades are so cool, hockey all year!
Yessir! Been tryna get on ice more now that its getting colder though
Your pretty good for someone who started 4 months ago
Really good for only learning for 4 months
W man keep doing it you’ve gotten so much better
Nice Avs merch man
Also stay low to the ground to get more power
Hey kazxi I would more recommend the reztek one because that one has too much grip
I definitely gotta try some rezztek!
Yeah I use it and it’s really great
I’ve watched some of your hockey videos i would make your stride longer and more powerful

Heck yeah, good to know!
4.5 months into hockey doing the Michigan is wild… 🎊 😮
Thats actually my neighborhood roller rink, me and my dad play there all the time, those guys are so much fun to play with
You’re blessed to have outdoor sport court. The rink I grew up on had it but all good things come to an end 😢
Dang :( yeah this is new to me, didn't have this til I moved states a few months back
why is this guy better than me in 4 months than me in 12 years
I have used blade my whole career and it works amazingly
That's awesome, I'm excited to see if I like it on ice too!
Skateboard grip tape is awesome
I see big progress from you man! Keep it up and enjoy the process 😌
Yo bro you should try the Bedard tape job
Ayy keep up the grind you look better then most players already
Ay thank you man I appreciate you!

Ur crazy at puck for 4.5 months bro
I played normal hockey, never played roller hockey. Is there a lot more friction for the puck?
You got a beginner you’re doing pretty good
Please answer me. I think you practice at big bear ice rink in Colorado. If I’m right
I’ve been there a couple times!
nice sweatshirt
Good tape but as you said durability is an issue. Bigger issue considering the price of it
all of the pro roller guys use no tape at all its wild
Whaaat really? I’ve tried that once and I hated it so much

Juraj Slafkovsky uses these
Do you play a league? I'm in CO and looking for a league. I played as a kid but looking to get back into it.
Use the bedard tape job
Try skateboard grip tape
There is a ice rink called big bear ice arena that is not too far from there
man i live kinda close to you but its pouring snow where i live so i cant play hockey outside :(
I'm from Michigan!
Try out the nasher
Do the Michigan in real game
Is this the rink in Arvada?
Nope never do this if I want your stick to last. The bottom will be shredded. I can promise that, just stick to tape
Without the tape it ruins the stick
I'm in Colorado. I'd like to come play
Btw ur sticks blade is probably gonna break if u don’t use tape
yo if ur tryna improve on ur wristers and snaps i’d invest in a howies shooting mat and any type of net, doesn’t need to be a hockey net
i have the same gloves as you
Bro try the bataman top tape job
Imma have to google that one
its nice but the bottom of your blade will get chewed up
I dont think so on this sports court
Do you play on normal ice or not?
Yes! Just actually joined an ice class and plan to start the league soon
Anyone know how old is too old to try for goalie? I have some skating experience but nothing special.
What stick do you use
Where is this rink
Are you a fan of pitchers using tar as well?
I dont know anything about baseball im not gonna lie lol, but I think this is legal in the NHL
Wut kind of rink is that
Is this in Denver by the airplane museum
I’d love to come watch you play. I used to have practice there when we couldn’t get rink time

Just an fyi only duster use that
only use that thing on ice
Its awsome for roller hockey but just please never use it for ice hockey 🙏😭
Well I have been playing hockey for about 9 months now and I have 40 goals and 20 assists and I am only 8
Where is this rink at?
