My relationship with the show has developed from a fun little superhero magical girl show to a genuine sweet and exciting show that I'm always looking forward to sure it doesn't try to be smart or anything but I wouldn't have it any other way
I think those people who think there hasn't been development are those people who didn't watch it from the start and only started to when it blew up on social media. As an OG fan of miraculous I got so excited with the little moments that you pointed out in this video and obviously saw the development especially in season 4 where so many things happened with Adriennette.
I read somewhere that in SS5 EP2 time passed for two weeks. So basically, he tried to kiss her cheek for two weeks straight and she managed to dodge it every time. 😂
Thank you for tackling this subject. I love hearing other people's point of view about it. Adrinette, like everything else in this show is messy, but in a good and realistic way in my opinion. People can be forgiven a little for thinking there has been no development in Adrinette. Adrienette has had everything they have needed since the very beginning. Almost everything you mentioned as happening in the fourth season also occurred in the first season. They just occur more often. Adrien often gave Marinette loving looks in the first season and was there to defend her (Horrificator, Gamer, and Kung Food come easily to mind). Marinette too was often able to speak to Adrien without stuttering (Gamer and Kung Food as well.) The development of Adrinette has largely been about them identifying and fighting off the personal fears and problems that were keeping them apart: Marinette's paralyzing fear of confessing her feelings and Adrien's difficulty in believing that anybody could love him. These fears and problems not only isolated them from each other but their friends as well. There is a part of themselves that they hide from even their closest friends. While I enjoyed all the ways that Adrinette were growing closer, to me the most important parts were when Marinette confessed to Chat Noir in the theater how scared she was about confessing her feelings in 'Glaciater 2' and Adrien telling Marinette that he didn't want to be a model anymore in 'risk'. They both kept a side of themselves hidden from even their closest friends until they couldn't carry the burden alone. Now they can share that burden and grow together.
i completely agree with your opinion and analysis of adrinette in all seasons however it is quite sad to see marinette 'trying to get over adrien' just as adrien has finally realised his feelings for her and is now starting to fall for her and go after her but it doesnt matter tho bc marinette is ladybug and adrien is cat noir! i also think that from the very beginning of season 1 marinette and adrien always had a connection and something sparkled between the two, even master fu said they were made for each other and y'all plagg even agrees he knows that adrien loves marinette from season 1
People always tell me that mlb has no development also that it’s just episodes repeated, but they are wrong they have both started to realize that they are good friends, or a bit more wink wink
Adrien became immune to Marinette's nonsense xD ( No offence to marrinette, but her performance between the episodes mr.pigeon 72 and simpleman took a big spike in the wrong direction )

I wish that they had given equal attention and development to all 4 sides of the love square though out the show. Yes, it might have made things more complicated but ultimately I think it would have lead to stronger characters whom have deeper and more nuanced relationship.
