- Myself and @BurtonOutdoors went wild camping in a private wood.
As you will see from the thumbnail, we set up our DD Tarps in plough point configuration, face to face. It worked very well and we both had a good nights sleep in the shelters.
It was our intention to have a mooch around a number of woods this day looking for a good spot to camp.
We found a few places but, they were still a bit open as in, not much cover still as we are still in spring in the UK.
We ended up in a little pine woodland area which we found on a day camp in November 2022. This is situated on a private estate. There is existing camping activity there, as you will see in the video. We don't know if this is from wild campers like us or, from the estates employees.
We took a punt and camped there in the hope that nobody came along to turf us off.
My snack meal was a British Army MRE from @TheBugOutShop

Yes, another crazy camp there. We just cannot be sensible for too long.
The owls were out for a lot of the day hooting at different times. The birdsong in the morning was quite loud and always nice to hear.

Nice set up there Tim. Can't beat a Plough Point - but I reckon you can now !!! - what's better than one Plough Point ....2 Plough Points opposite each other. An enjoyable camp mate. Did you get some heat from the fire into the shelters too ? Great rapport with Lee as always. Thank you Buddy 👍
Hello Giles. It was a handy set up for chatting to each other 😁
The main fire was about 20 steps away from the shelters so no heat from that. It wasn’t really needed.
But, it is easy and safe enough to have a fire bowl/bushbox in between the two shelters for heat. As long as you don’t get spitty wood like chestnut.
It’s always comical with Lee. We do have serious times too. But not too much 😁

Hi Bourne, I've just found your channel and noticed in one you refer to your permission, I don't want to know where it is but if I may as you and or your subs how to get permission(s) I also like metal detecting but where I live ( Norfolk/Suffolk) its near impossible and I think wild camping would be worse, all they can see is damage and fires 😂. Hope you don't mind me asking, have fun take care mate. Jim.
Hello Jim, thanks for getting in touch. I luckily had my permission granted as a mate of mine had the land.
The best way really, is to see what is about on Google Maps and then have a walk around there and knock on doors to see if any homes nearby know who owns the wooded area.
Don’t go dressed in your camping gear though and don’t mention fires just yet.

Give the Face to Face a try. It is great for placing a Bushbox in between if needed and, good for having a chat with your Oppo too.

That one looked like a proper giggle, Tim. Loved the cozy facing plough points set up too. I was hoping to get out myself this weekend but had too much on. Need to get some ground dwelling going on myself. Hammocks are ok but I am more of a groundie, if truth be told. Still haven't used the OneTigris Backwoods Bungalow that the missus bought for my birthday last September. Itching to give a try. Great vid. Always a pleasure to watch👍

It is hard to get out at times. Frustrating when it happens. I hate not being able to get out on a camp and I’m seriously thinking I’m actually addicted to it.
I think I am getting back into ground dwelling but, I am a hammock convert now. Bit more gear to lug about but for me, it is a lot more comfy.
