I’ve been practicing this lately and ppl keep saying: ‘no that’s not a sit spin you’re not deep enough!’ Even my coach. And I’m like omg what do you expect?? A perfect sit spin from someone who hasn’t even been skating for a year? 😅 I’m just gonna keep practicing to get my legs strong enough 💪🏼
I love the fact we call the 'shoot the duck' position a 'teapot'. Just when you thought the Brits couldn't be any more British, they have tea-related skating positions
I love how you include slow motion examples, common mistakes, walkthroughs, progressions, and FAQs. Not a lot of channels provide all of these and they really help me to learn best. Thank you for the quality tutorials and tips!

Thank you for your love and support!
You are my favorite skating channel on UA-cam! Watching your videos has helped me understand spins and other skating tricks and I’ve won three competitions! Thank you for your hard work!
I would love a video on Twizzles and also Choctaws! I'm struggling alot with learning the choctaw, having a hard time with the hip twist and timing. I would also love a tutorial on loops (the turns not the jump 😊) This tutorial was great and perfect timing as I've just started to learn it. Very helpful, thank you!
I can’t do a shoot the duck. I practice lunges but getting that swing is tuff. I have a gap also when I spin, butt too high. My lower back is tight . It goes around super fast, just not low.
Your my favorite skating coach to go to when I’m learning new things and can’t seem to get it because you always break it down in a way that I can slowly progress up to the main thing
I really try on this one but all I hear is scratch, scratch, scratch. Will you please give tips for off-ice practice. I'm very fit and do lots of squats but I still cannot master going low and staying low.
A little constructive criticism: 1. Hold the position for as long as possible, including the standstill position after the sit 2. Hold the entry edge for a whole half circle. I noticed you didn't hold the entry edge much at all at both 2:11 and 2:30. Anyone, feel free to correct me.
i don’t think she needs your criticism lol. also she definitely holds the entry edge for a full half circle on both of those? her blade doesn’t start moving backwards into her inner back edge until she’s past 180° into the entry.

it takes time to get a low sit spin! it's great that you have learned it in a year of skating!
@@CoachMarySkating thank you! ❤ I still got long to go but it's slowly improving 😄👍🏼
How is it going ?

In Austria it's called the German word for cannonball
In Belgium we also call it teapot lol

The sit spin takes time! Sounds like you have a good start keep practicing :)

Fantastic video! Great tutorial! Loved it! :)
glad you loved it!
I’m a lefty so do I start with my right arm
Do you need strength in your legs to do this???
Any tips to get lower i cant even do a teapot
Doesn’t it require leg strength?

DONT JUDGE ME!! I CANT SPIN
Some people spin on the right leg tho. Not the left
you're absolutely right - I can try to include more demonstrations in the other direction. 1/3 of my skaters currently are lefties
Ble
I literally can’t get down at all

I am looking for the name of a move Peppermint Patty did in 'She's a Good Skate, Charlie Brown'. It looked like she grabbed both knees while she spun.
I will have to look this up!
