- And so, we have bought a new caravan. But which one? we were all set for a Swift Vogue 635, but then something else came along.
In this vide we share what new caravan we have bought and what will be replacing our beloved Lunar caravan,
A huge thank you to Swindon caravans who have made our journey so far as smooth as it can be.
We are all really excited with our new purchase and you will have the full reveal very soon.

Hi Martin, I'm so glad you are keeping the caravan. My heart was in my mouth, when you started your chat .
I have always said, caravanning is not a cheap hobby, and my goodness the insurance on ours is so expensive. But fortunately the storage isn't too bad, enough but affordable.
We have been thinking about changing to a smaller one, however ours has everything we love, and we would have to compromise so much. So at the moment it's staying lol. And we so love going away, it's home from home.
I won't bore you any longer, however just one point is. There is terrible snobbery out there amongst caravanning and motorhomes. Just remember, as though you don't know. Your caravan is your castle, full stop. And, fully paid for 👍. Take care, enjoy 😊
I've spoken to many caravanners who just popped into the dealership to get some toilet chemicals and ended up buying a new 'van, not 100% sure you'd do the same with a car. It is a lovely thing to do, we had two brand new, a 2005 Bailey Ranger 510/4L from Reading, then a disastrous ex-display Lunar Lexon SI of 2009 which was plagued with damp and other significant failures, traded it for a Bailey Olympus. The Ridgeway looks like a great dealer special, enjoy!
Glad you finally took the plunge and made the decision. Looks like you got a good deal and it is a win-win situation all round. I like the idea of total transparency and honesty. I hope you will be providing feedback to both Bailey and the dealer should any problems arise.
Hi Dan
We have been thinking of buying a caravan for a while now and watching your excellent videos has made up our mind! We are saving really hard and are so excited. We want to have so many exciting holidays with our 2 year old boy and our dog. I want to say thank you for all the advice you give and making up our minds. Your videos are excellent. No doubt I will be asking for advice in the near future. Keep the videos coming and enjoy your new caravan when it arrives. I cant wait to see it!!
Well done guys, Great choice. We picked our new Bailey up 3 weeks ago and are so happy with it. Enjoy.
Congrats Team Trudgen! Looking forward to seeing the van in all its glory. Can’t fault you for managing to bag yourself some extras based on the publicity you’ve provided for Swindon Caravans. Well done you!
Well done all, I hope you are all very happy with your choice, perhaps you could have a word with Bailey and go and watch it being built at the factory, that would be a great video. Looking forward to watching your new adventures, big 👍
We have been looking at our next Caravan and had thought we had got it nailed. then you did your journey of getting a caravan and created more questions for us than answers. we have now worked through these and are nearly at the end, now your getting a dealer special, guess we will have to wait to see what that is like as the 640 lay out is what we think we are wanting now with 2 growing boys. thanks for sharing this journey. enjoy your new van when it comes.
Dan and family... great news. We’ve had our bailey 5 birth for 9 years now (from new) and have loved every time we’ve used it. It gets an annual (dealer) service (from the Swindon Group) and have been very pleased with it. I’ve never been to the Swindon dealer though..
Good luck, we bought our first MoHo last weekend and I can assure you your vlogs helped us on our way. Dan the deal you get is the deal you get I shouldn’t worry what people think,.
I guessed right. Big respect for being honest about the extras they’ve given you in exchange for the content you’ll make - you certainly didn’t have to do that. Also, I don’t blame you, you’ve got a bloody good thing going and it’s worth taking a few perks when they come your way.
Playing catch up. I think you have made the right choice. None of my business I know but there is my opinion. Enjoy your new van and the the memories you make in it VBG all round :-)
We are a bit late to the party, but have been watching your videos. Some of them we have only just watched after purchasing our New Bailey Platinum 642 (Chipping Sodbury special). Like yourselves, we loved the layout and feel of the Phoenix, but wanted the BBQ point, solar panel, outdoor socket etc. Still can't believe you get these on the albeit dealer special Phoenix, but no option on the Pegasus. We also unknowingly followed some of your decision-making, taking our time and involving the whole family like you. Keep up the great work and look forward to your next vlogs.
Well done Dan, enjoy your new caravan and have some great times in it, keep the videos coming.
Lovely news. It is an exciting time. I remember when we got our van, I was like a kiddie waiting for Christmas. 😊
Wow a Bailey 640! Looking forward to seeing the dealer special differences. Congrats Dan, Angela and Chloe 👍
Congratulations guys! Can't wait for the next video!!!
Good luck with the new van, i'm sure it will be great. As i side note due to your videos and the outstanding service you get from Swindon caravan group we popped into their oxford branch on Sunday Whilst we were staying up near Tring, to purchase a tap cartridge for our 2007 swift accord 570 and...... well lets say we're travelling back to oxford on the 15th to pick up our 2013 bailey Valencia. oops. Wife is now banned from coming with me when i go to buy caravan spares. Lewis and the team at oxford seemed to be as good as lee and the guys at Reading.
Wow! Welcome to the Bailey club! Cheers Oliver
Well that was a shock when I was watching this video, as that's the place me and my partner are looking at buying our 1st Caravan
Excellent news, looking forward to seeing your journey into the new caravan and your first trip away!
Well done on getting a new caravan, and well done on getting a few extras from them - seems only fair! Given that both Bailey and Swindon group know who the caravan is for you would imagine they will both go through it with a very fine toothcombe to check there are no quality control issues before handover, if they can't get yours right there isn't much hope for the rest of us.
Glad you've made your decision, these things are always so subjective with each family having different requirements. I think my problem would be with the fridge venting into the awning. Hope you all enjoy your new purchase, it's always exciting getting new kit!
Nice one ..think you made the right choice ..we've had 4 Baileys and have been very happy with all of them..Hope you'll all be very happy with your purchase and many Great Holidays to come. ..🙋🏼😀
That's exciting! And getting the newest model too - very modern. Glad they were open to a small deal - seriously the new way of marketing!
Sprite/swift better choice for build and style plus has great front locker too
Congratulations to you and your family. All the best with your new caravan. I just bought a dealer special from Grantham caravans but I opted for the swift as I know for me the build quality is better. Look at the mechanisms they are better but as you say the space at the front is I little better. I have to give a big shout out to Grantham caravans lovely people with great prices and good customer service. I searched the whole of the uk
Hi Dan I am a product designer and manufacturer of many British products in Doncaster. I use solid works and cam works and source prototypes from every where in the world. I think I can add value to some of your ideas. Give me a shout if u need any advice. Sorry for sounding like salesman but in life that's what we do to survive. I am not sure how u link with me with the you tube rules but hey ho I am sure u will find me if u try. I am on Twutter lunked in and available by ww.hallamcastings.xo.xu I deliberately miss spelled the objects for obvious reason
Whoop! Whoop! Congratulations Dan, Ang, Chloe and Chops of course lol. So excited for you and look forward to the future videos :))
Congratulations guys on your new caravan, happy travels, can’t wait to see it
Can’t wait to see your future videos. Loving it already. Congrats on your new purchase. Await with anticipation for all the info. X
Can't beat a Bailey... Ours is a 2004 Pageant Series 5 Champagne and going strong. We will be sad when we possibly trade up next year. Congratulations Trudgians.
Nice one Dan. You could see the genuine excitement in all of you when you were leaving. Hope it works put for you.
Good luck with your new wobble box , hope you have many great adventures with it.
Thanks Gary, we are a wee bit excited here.
We're happy for you and it makes sense to stick with Swindon as it's on your doorstep. it's where we got our Clubman ES :)
Hi Dan we brought a compass Kensington 840 8 weeks ago had to go back for a recall on the skylight toilet door not working cupboard doors coming of shower not sealed fully. Only used it 3 times due to work have come away in it for a week at skegness and now part of the led lighting has stopped working around the cupboard tops. Apart from these little thing still love the van and it tows so much better than the old van all the best with yours.
Good luck with your new caravan, if you can afford it , why not? We have a 24 year old caravan and I hope she lasts a bit longer as we can't afford to upgrade at the moment, Looking forward to seeing it and following your new adventures.
Dan,
If it's any consolation I have owned four Bailey caravans, three from new and each of the four were excellent. My last one being a Unicorn Valencia which is now 5 years old. I have had no problems which any of them with the exception of a front window rubber seal which was replaced under warranty. I would have no hesitation in buying another Bailey.
Dan, you've led me astray. When I saw your first video on the Phoenix 640 I thought it was the perfect layout for me. Then I watched this one and checked on the dealer specials available. Anyway went out on Friday and bought a Bailey Titanium 640 (the Roper's Phoenix dealer special). Now i just cant wait for it to be delivered.
Just bought a new swift eccles 635 absolutely perfect design, and quality build, so many fantastic design features.
Hi Tony and family, You're going to have to shoot a new video intro. Seriously, its always the little things that swing a deal for you. In your case, its the cubby hole under the front chest. In our case, when we bought our van back in 2010, it was a Swift Challenger 580 - and the clincher for us was a couple of recessed cubby holes in the wardrobe either side of the fixed bed - ideal place for leaving the glasses/night time water bottle etc. Best of luck with the new van.
Nice one Mr T! We are on our Second new Van and I wouldn't do any other way! Yes there can be snags but it will be your Van! Can't wait to see it and see how you get on.
Thank you Adam.
Congratulations Mr and Mrs T. I hope everything goes smoothly for you... Looking forward to seeing your new caravan and your first adventure, I would guess it will be Cirencester site. enjoy!!!
Enjoyed watching your video, looking forward to seeing your new caravan when it arrives.
Hi Dan and Fam what great news I’m so excited for you. I’m looking forward to following your new adventure with your Phoenix. Ps don’t let too many people know how great caravanning is. My van is 10yrs old next year so Swindon’s Phoenix might just be the way to go.
Congratulations on your new caravan Dan ☺☺ can't wait for the futur vidéo 😉👏👏👏
Well done, very exciting! Looking forward to loads of great content! Enjoy the process!
Well done guys you have done well hope you have a great time in the new caravan
I've just watched this video/Blog here in Saudi Arabia and its cheered me up no end, fantastic news wishing you all the best of times with your new Bailey Caravan. Cheers
Hi dan well done u found what u believe is the van for you and your family hope it works out for u look forward to seeing the up coming video of it best of luck .kev
Well done Dan and we hope it all works out for you all. It wasn't that long ago that we were in the same position of buying our Barracuda. I look forward to seeing it.
Congratulations to you and the family on your new caravan, looking forward to seeing it. 👍🏼👍🏼
Hope all have many years of fun with your van!
Brilliant, really happy for you all and Welcome to the Bailey family. We love our 2014 Bailey PEGASUS GT 65 ANCONA 6 BERTH.
Cant wait to see the extras list on this dealer special as this caravan ticks every one of our boxes !!
Congratulations on your new purchase, happy adventures in your new purchase 😁👍
Congratulations. Just changed myself to a Bailey Pegasus Rimini. So far so good
Congratulations we are really please for you can't wait for a tour around it 😁
Just migrating from a VW camper to a caravan as we want the luxury of a fixed bed and a loo. Looking at new or nearly new budget or starter vans only and were leaning towards the Venus 570 but switched to the Phoenix 640 after visiting the NEC on Saturday. Will probably go for a dealer special, either a Platinum 2, SE or Ridgeway. A great channel for potential caravanning newbies, thanks. Two questions, all the dealer specials seem to have the same extras except for the upholstery colours and designs and external graphics, are they all made in-house at Bailey rather than a conversion at the dealership ? Why doesn't anyone at the storage facility use a cover ? We will store at home but a cover will be a necessity. Cheers...
To be honest what would swing me towards the bailey and not the swift is the fact the swift is a twin axle which means more tyres to buy, more expensive servicing, double the amount of motor movers needed and also some sites don’t like twin axles . Oh and two wheel locks and the faff getting the wheels to line up on the alko chassis
we just put an order in for a Bailey 640 yesterday - love the layout and virtually all of our vans over our 20 odd years caravanning have been Baileys so ...... very excited. Interested to hear what helped you make your decision - had not thought of that but as my husband has size 14 feet, think that will be a great benefit for us too lol.
Congratulations, happy new caravan. The only thing is, from now until you collect it will seem like an eternity. I hope you don't have any problems with it, we've had more than our fair share of problems with ours and it's both annoying and frustrating, and it does make you feel that you will never buy another one again. Good luck all.
Glad you have finally found one at the end of the day its what makes you happy life is far to short not to enjoy it. We are off for the weekend tomorrow to our second CS site in a row just hoping the rain goes away tonight.
Wow congratulations on your new van, we ordered our Lunar last October after NEC show, and picked it up end of April, great if you get yours by end of September,
Can’t wait till you collect it and give us a tour
proper happy for you and keep up the good work.

Wow,! As a new subscriber & This is now old news. Congratulations. 🍾🥂. We are in South Africa & have also ordered a new Sherpa Rambler rough reader which is being built exactly to our design & specs. Feeling very smug this end after all my pro-Bailey posts on your vlogs! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well done guys. Congrats.
Brilliant set of videos, looking to buy our very first van next year. Found these very useful. Ps any tips for a mid 30’s young family first timers !
Brilliant,congratulations to you all.
How fantastic! I did guess right too. 😀😍 I can't wait to see lots of videos of you enjoying it. 😘 xx
Congratulations Dan and family have been following your quest for a new caravan closely we have finally settled for a 4 berth 2017 bailey cadiz due to the compressed front chest layout that makes a bigger lounge and also the better body construction
Congratulations. Hope you have many happy adventures.
Great Vid, congratulations on the new Caravan, a new opening Sequence to your Vids might be in order now. 👍🏻
Just been told that by Mrs T too lol
Hi Dan and Angela, love your video's. I too have just bought a bailey caravan (mines a 2008 tho lol), i was excited as you to get it. Hope you have many great holidays in it x

Hi Mat,

Dan

Congratulations! Funny how things just suddenly snap into place. If I were in the market for a new van, I'd be after a Phoenix - stunning value for money. I wish you many happy adventures :-) Kev
Get in there....nice one...
Here's to having even more amazing memories :-)
Your choice / Your money / so go get the best flippin' deal you can. Why ? Because that all anyone wants is the best deal no matter how that may have been achieved - You win but so too does Swindon Caravans. Have fun

Being a Yorkshire man I am glad you went for the cheaper option 😁. Best way really you can add on things which you want.
Nice one Dan welcome to club Bailey!
Congratulations you 3!
Excellent 😋 always makes you feel 8 years old again. Enjoy.
Well done on getting your new van good on you getting a good deal and using whatever means to do it, however, personal choice I would have gone for the Swift.
That remark on the end.... if nobody wants to buy a new caravan.. how do second hand ones get onto the market ? :P I would love myself a new caravan, but can't affort it at all.
