When you say in the Tenryuji temple: It looks like my relative’s house and parent’s garden, wow😲 then your father must be the shogun of Hachinoho City and you an Aomori princes.❣😅 Souvenirs, souvenirs. 6 weeks ago we went to the top of the Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, ten thousand Tory gates and never ending hundred thousand steps up and down, but it was worth the effort.😍 Kyoto is wonderful but you need to like temples, shrines and tea ceremonies in kimono, fortunately, that is my case😎

I really enjoyed this Kyoto solo trip video because we learn alot about Miley herself. Even the most kawaii fierce ninja can get timid and shy in an unknown territory region. You did a great job guiding yourself on the trip and even with a local guide it was very useful and helpful to learn more about the history of Kyoto. This is probably the clearest scooter/bicycle You Tube video I have ever seen (very professionally done). It enabled us to see many more back streets in a very short period of time. As much as I love listening to Miley, I REALLY enjoyed being with a quiet Miley too. You see, I am a VERY boring guy; so I am likely to be speechless when I am on the tour in March (lol). I will be in awe......to quote that great song by MercyMe, "I Can Only Imagine". The fun will result from merely being in the presence of a living Goddess. Miley does not have to know a thing.....her very sharp mind will always be able to hold everyone's interest and to keep us entertained. This video is a TANTALIZING introduction.....I cannot wait.

I did some solo filming in Japan too and found it hard to say a lot, but this video was really nice because you visited places that you are really interested in so it feels like an authentic trip with Miley! I'm glad I got to see some of Nijo Castle which I couldn't visit on my last trip. I can really recommend going to the top of Mt. Inari, it's full of gates and old shrines along the way and it's worth the steps :). I hope you had a great trip and looking forward to part two!

Fun video, nice editing :) I think I've been to Kyoto about 4 times. First time I tried to walk all of Fushimi Inari, I only got halfway and it was late in the day and getting dark so I went back. The next year I went again and walked it all. It is huge and takes more than an hour to walk, and a lot of stairs going up and down!
I was in Kyoto last March, 2023 I got lost as well. We spent 2 days there, it wasn't nearly enough to see everything but we still had a good time. I would love to go on a Smiley Miley Tokyo tour one day.
Yes, the problem with Kyoto tourism is that it can be a trapping for most - too much to do, so little time. A tourist that doesn't have 1-2 weeks of time min needs to cut out all but a few targeted destinations per interest. Fushimi Inari is really the only legitimate general location, reason it is rated # 1, but people need to understand it is part of a sprawling complex of million different sub-shrines. Also note that is basically 3 routing logics, which as Smiley saw, can confuse. Most people head to primary shrine building and the "1000 vermilion gates" road, but that is just a sideshow for the real deal. The second route takes you up/down the mountain itself; the "tea houses" along the way are the real appeal of this place. Finally, little known, there is a backcountry trails routing not on the posted maps (printed ones exist from service) that provide stellar nature tour, with hardcore routes both going up/around the mountain. Also, tourists don't know that there is an intermountain mega trail around Kyoto/outside that this is a segment thereof, also possible to cross NE into the next town via backdoor, several other outlets. Point is, more you research/explore more you will come to love Fushimi, least trap-like experience possible in Kyoto, the best. Note that chief deity is Uka-no-mitama-no-okami, rice/grain goddess, flanked by adjacent business-derived Shinto gods; the foxes serve as messengers for the people, not object of worship. Also, anime. >Inari Kon Kon ....but no matter.

I was sad to see you lonely and a little scared in Kyoto 😢 I wish I’d been in Japan then; I’ve been there *so* many times, but have never visited Kyoto 😮 I would have loved to be able to explore it together - Elvis would have kept you safe! 😉 Sugoi, though, lots of respect for doing that! 勇気を出して、色々と挑戦して、本当に凄いね！👍😁 I do think a local guide would be a good idea for your group trips to other areas. I’ve been thinking about creating a tour of Japan (“Dave’s Japan” 😁). I could do Tokyo fine, but also want to take people to Aizuwakamatsu, to experience the Samurai history and amazing Nihon-shu there. I know the area a little, but think that having a local guide would make a big difference. Great camera work, BTW! It’s subtle, but I was impressed with how you set up your shots to give people a feeling of being there, and took the time to do things like getting the shot of yourself riding past on the scooter. 👍 I think I’ll be back there again ~Feb 25 - March 7. I don’t know my schedule, but hope I can make it to Asakusa and come to your bar or do something else fun.

It's seriously impressive how fast your english is improving in such a short time. It's so nice to see you have the confidence to try and speak with native pronunciation as well because sometimes it can be really difficult.
Maybe because it was the narration this time?👶 I practice pronunciation before recording the narration. (Japanese too lol) Actually, reading Japanese is more difficult.😂😂😂
This is probably the clearest scooter/bicycle You Tube video I have ever seen (very professionally done). It enabled us to see many more back streets in a very short period of time. As much as I love listening to Miley, I REALLY enjoyed being with a quiet Miley too. You see, I am a VERY boring guy; so I am likely to be speechless when I am on the tour in March (lol). I will be in awe......to quote that great song by MercyMe, "I Can Only Imagine". The fun will result from merely being in the presence of a living Goddess. Miley does not have to know a thing.....her very sharp mind will always be able to hold everyone's interest and to keep us entertained. This video is a TANTALIZING introduction.....I cannot wait.

I did some solo filming in Japan too and found it hard to say a lot, but this video was really nice because you visited places that you are really interested in so it feels like an authentic trip with Miley! I'm glad I got to see some of Nijo Castle which I couldn't visit on my last trip. I can really recommend going to the top of Mt. Inari, it's full of gates and old shrines along the way and it's worth the steps :). I hope you had a great trip and looking forward to part two!

I think I've been to Kyoto about 4 times.
First time I tried to walk all of Fushimi Inari, I only got halfway and it was late in the day and getting dark so I went back.
The next year I went again and walked it all. It is huge and takes more than an hour to walk, and a lot of stairs going up and down!

I was in Kyoto last March, 2023 I got lost as well. We spent 2 days there, it wasn't nearly enough to see everything but we still had a good time.

Yes, the problem with Kyoto tourism is that it can be a trapping for most - too much to do, so little time. A tourist that doesn't have 1-2 weeks of time min needs to cut out all but a few targeted destinations per interest.
Fushimi Inari is really the only legitimate general location, reason it is rated # 1, but people need to understand it is part of a sprawling complex of million different sub-shrines. Also note that is basically 3 routing logics, which as Smiley saw, can confuse.
Most people head to primary shrine building and the "1000 vermilion gates" road, but that is just a sideshow for the real deal. The second route takes you up/down the mountain itself; the "tea houses" along the way are the real appeal of this place.
Finally, little known, there is a backcountry trails routing not on the posted maps (printed ones exist from service) that provide stellar nature tour, with hardcore routes both going up/around the mountain. Also, tourists don't know that there is an intermountain mega trail around Kyoto/outside that this is a segment thereof, also possible to cross NE into the next town via backdoor, several other outlets.
Point is, more you research/explore more you will come to love Fushimi, least trap-like experience possible in Kyoto, the best. Note that chief deity is Uka-no-mitama-no-okami, rice/grain goddess, flanked by adjacent business-derived Shinto gods; the foxes serve as messengers for the people, not object of worship.

Sometimes I can be very quiet around other people when I can not think of things to say. I have heard a saying that goes "it is better to be quiet and have people think you are a fool than it is to open your mouth and remove all doubt!" I am beginning to get shy now. I do think a local guide would be a good idea for your group trips to other areas. I’ve been thinking about creating a tour of Japan (“Dave’s Japan” 😁). I could do Tokyo fine, but also want to take people to Aizuwakamatsu, to experience the Samurai history and amazing Nihon-shu there. I know the area a little, but think that having a local guide would make a big difference.
Great camera work, BTW! It’s subtle, but I was impressed with how you set up your shots to give people a feeling of being there, and took the time to do things like getting the shot of yourself riding past on the scooter. 👍
I think I’ll be back there again ~Feb 25 - March 7. I don’t know my schedule, but hope I can make it to Asakusa and come to your bar or do something else fun.
