When coming down from north Tenaja trail and you cross the creek. The trail is definitely very overgrown right now so it’s a bit difficult to see it sometimes, Specially because it doesn’t seem to get a lot of traffic which is nice, keeps it cleaner, not a lot of trash, unlike Tanaja Falls which is a very popular spot and unfortunately sadly it shows. As soon as you cross the creek, I noticed there was a point where it almost seemed like there was a rocky trail to the left, which leads to nothing just back to the water, a few feet back yo will see the trail, again it’s very overgrown right now.
A few weeks ago I came down the North Tenaja trail and I could not find the San Mateo trail even though the sign pointed across the creek. I crossed several times looking but I couldn’t find it. I ended up wading through the creek about 500ft towards Fisherman’s Camp when I picked it up. Coming the way you did, was the trail and crossing somewhat obvious to you? It looks like you were in that area.
