Love & Kale,
Chef AJ
That umami flavour! Nutritional yeast tastes salty also and contains zero sodium, Carbs FTW!! 💪💪
I don't think it tastes like cheese at all, and I like it only occasionally in small amounts. I use it mostly for the B vitamins. Not B12, because I know that only the fortified one supplies that, and I tried that once but found it awful!
Nutritional yeast does not taste like cheese, doesn't have the texture of cheese either. Remembering the days when I loved wine and a good cheddar cheese for a snack.
Water Lentils (Duckweed) contain B12 🌱
Thank you for helping me make the cut. I’ve been on the fence for a long time. I don’t feel good after I eat it.
Very helpful. Thanks
i use it in my morning smoothie. It controls seasonal allergies.
❤❤medical medium exposed this years ago…I won’t touch…very interesting the reasoning behind it…actually is common sense.
Me either and I used to think it had natural b vitamins! They are sprayed in vitamins
so its bad for people with adhd. but people with anxiety say its good for them. weird food.
Umami flavour and it tastes like salt, potatoes, corn, fruit, sugar cane, pasta, Carbs FTW!! 💪💪💪
Because it is just like MSG
I tried it, but didn’t like it. Sounds like I’m in the minority though
How much is ok? I didn't like it at first but now love it on certain dishes.
I have been eating it regularly for 7+ years. I am an RN and have ADHD and gastro issues due to a genetic disorder. I've had no issues or exacerbation of ADHD symptoms from it.
Just like any food, overeating any food can cause issues. With nooch, as long as you aren't eating copious amounts with every meal all day every day it's fine. This video isn't reliable. It's based on one anecdotal incident and I can't find one scholarly source that says nooch is unhealthy or causes problems.
Then you haven’t search pub med or the medical literature because there are plenty of research articles. Dr Goldhamer has been saying for years how bad it is, especially for people with GI disorders pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/1502481/
This study appears to be about baker's yeast, not nutritional yeast. I could not find anything on pubmed specifically about nutritional yeast but I always like to learn more.
Can you recommend a non dairy cheese sauce recipe without nutritional yeast?

Appetite stimulant! Yes, like MSG. Had great success with McDougall and AJ, released 90. At goal weight, bought nooch for a recipe and started adding all around. Started gaining! Stopped using. Linked to IBS in some people, goodbye.
Once found yeast flakes but not nutritional yeast
Do i want or even need it
I don’t think anyone Needs it, but a lot of people do like it. I personally don’t care for it
Ya know… ya know… ya know… ya know… ya know… ya know… ya know… ya know…
I was eating quite a bit of nutritional yeast flakes (large and small flakes as I found both at local stores )after learning some delicious sauce recipes. Then, during a routine colonoscopy my gastroenterologist noted a site or two as having some inflammation where people usually show Crohn’s disease… As such, my gastroenterologist said I may have Crohn’s Disease although I had no symptoms and no genetic markers noted in subsequent tests. Getting this diagnosis and knowing Dr Greger advises not to eat nutritional yeast for people with Crohn’s, I immediately stopped eating anything with nutritional yeast ( or any kind of yeast - because I am confused about whether it is okay to eat yeasted bread)…. Five years later, and I still am symptom free. I have an upcoming colonoscopy and hopefully this time around my gastroenterologist will say that was a misdiagnosis. But I wonder if the nutritional yeast was irritating my lining????

@@CHEFAJ Thank you, these articles are helpful!
