    I have worked in Ireland for over ten years and was shocked by some of your claims. They sounded untrue to me so I checked them out and discovered I was right to be suspicious because your claims are not true. Really you should not be making videos with false information. For example you state that the minimum wage in Switzerland is 60k and only 20k in Ireland. That is untrue. My research shows that you are confusing MINIMUM wage and AVERAGE wage. So you compared the AVERAGE wage in Switzerland and the MINIMUM wage in Ireland and based on this impossible comparison you then left the country. In reality the average wage in Switzerland is 70k compared to 60k in Ireland. Not the huge difference you claimed it to be. In Ireland the minimum wage is around 22k but in Switzerland there is no minimum wage so employers can employ cheap labour.... which is not so good. Also Ireland has the advantage of being in the EU (European Union) but Switzerland is not in the European Union so people from outside Europe who want to live in Switzerland will not be able to travel and work freely in other European countries. If they move to Ireland they can. Not a good video for providing accurate information.

      @michaelpenka  Рік тому +4

      Helenaville, everything I said in this video is true plus I have worked in Ireland too over 8 years and more of my working career was on minimum wage. The minimum wage went up to €11.30/ hours in 2023, which is roughly €23k before tax (www.citizensinformation.ie/en/employment/employment-rights-and-conditions/pay-and-employment/pay-inc-min-wage/#:~:text=However%2C%20most%20employees%20are%20entitled,is%20%E2%82%AC11.30%20per%20hour)- this is reel information from Citizensinformation.ie and as you know this money is taxed before you get it in your payslips. Switzerland doesn’t have a fixed minimum wage because every single canton has a different tax rate and as I said the average minimum wage is CHF 60k which is almost 3 times that of Ireland. I don’t think Ireland has any advantages of being in the EU that Switzerland doesn’t. Because almost 1/2 of the work force of Switzerland are people from EU countries like France, Germany, Italian, Austria, Spain and Ireland plus non EU countries like India etc. and NON EU passport holders can used their Swiss residency permit to visit the above European countries even though Switzerland is not in the EU. What you said about NON EU passport holders can work in different EU countries if they live in Ireland is a lie. The only country they can do that is in Northern Ireland. So you’re the one with wrong information here

    • @helenaville5939
      @helenaville5939 Рік тому +5

      @@michaelpenka Again you are being untruthful. The minimum wage in Switzerland is NOT 60k. You are still confusing average wage with minimum wage. And again you are stating false information about Switzerland and free movement within the EU. A Swiss residency permit only allows people from outside the EU to visit EU countries, but it does not allow them to live, work and travel freely around the EU without restrictions. On the other hand, after they have lived and worked in Ireland for five years they qualify for an Irish passport (under Irish residency laws) and are then free to live, work and travel freely without restrictions in any other EU country for the rest of their lives. This is not possible to do by moving to Switzerland where their new life is limited to only one country. This is what I meant in my previous comment but did not elaborate so much and maybe this misled you.
      In conclusion, you seem to be painting a completely false and inaccurate picture, and my fear is that some people will believe you and make a major life decision based on your flawed information. Then they will realize when they get to Switzerland that their minimum wage is around 20k and not 60k, and they will also realize that they cannot travel freely in the rest of Europe and are limited to Switzerland. There is nothing else I wish to add here so I am finished exchanging messages with you. Regardless of our disagreement about the information contained in your video, I wish you well in your new life in Switzerland.

    • @michaelpenka
      @michaelpenka  Рік тому

      I clearly said the average minimum wage in Switzerland is 60k because there’s no standard minimum wage due to different cantonal law. I also never said a Swiss Resident permit allows you to live and work in different EU countries. I said it allows you to visit any EU country, Same as the Irish residency permit.So there’s literally no difference. You clearly said after 5 years. I am not talking about after 5 years. After 5 years of living and working in Switzerland you have the opportunity as in Ireland. Don’t forget Swiss passport holders have almost or even more of the same rights to live and work in any European countries if you don’t know. So check my message again and rewatch the video again before saying what you are saying. And have a good day too 👌

    • @helenaville5939
      @helenaville5939 Рік тому +4

      @@michaelpenka You have now added a new piece of incorrect information by claiming that non-EU countries can have even more rights to live and work in EU countries than EU countries have. This again is blatantly untrue. And you are still insisting repeatedly on using the AVERAGE Swiss income as the MINIMUM Swiss income which is completely misleading. There is no point trying to correct you anymore because you are refusing to accept responsibility for correcting those untruths, and are now even adding more. End.

    • @michaelpenka
      @michaelpenka  Рік тому

      Helenavile, I can see you clearly knows nothing about Switzerland. Switzerland have equal rights as any EEA or EU countries if you don’t know. A Swiss citizen has the same work and travel rights as as any EU or EEA countries. Do your research before calling someone out

    How will you and your wife get a permanent resident permit in Switzerland? I think it's necessary to get a job first. She is Irish, won't she be homesick? You are only talking about the material side of life, what's about the emotional side? And talking to visit 100 countries in the next 5 years: where is your homebase then? Your child will go to school in four years. Where? In 100 different countries?

      You are correct in some of what you say but don't blame the migration issues alone, we Irish were doing a really brilliant job at wrecking our own country before migration, also non Irish people living and working in Ireland did a very good job and played an important part in building the economy, it is the fault of the Irish government for not handling not just migration but other area's of the development of my own country of Ireland that has caused serious and dangerous un rest. So no don't blame non Irish for

    Did having an Irish passport help you to get into your new country , as this country is very hard to get into, also you made the right decision as Ireland is heading for total collapse as a country, even Irish people are leaving their own country Beacuse of the cost of living and also the extremely dangerous civil unrest that's building up.
