  • I'm Lew Bear and this is my story of fibromyalgia and how I've learnt to manage and control the pain and fatigue with diet. From what I've witnessed I believe fibromyalgia to be many different conditions, all lumped under one umbrella and mine is just one of those conditions
If you suffer with severe muscle stiffness, particularly in the legs and lower back, fatigue, tiredness, occasional lack of clarity in thought, then you might be suffering the form of fibromyalgia I did, and there may be hope if you adapt your diet and cut out all proteins from the family bovidae, which includes beef, lamb, goat and all their dairy products
If you suffer a different form of fibromyalgia, good luck in finding your own way of managing it and my heart is with you x

I have fibromyalgia as well and I have gone through the same thing.. people think that my illness is imaginary when I’m dying of pain.. doctors here in America they literally prescribe you OxyContin for the pain like if you were a cancer patient and this is how horrible the pain is! I feel like I’m living in hell. I do not wish this upon my worst enemy. When you are ill you’re not living your just existing. It’s a miserable life.

    Good morning Lew.
I am in bed hit by a bus that is Fibromyalgia/CFS/ ME.
Mine is trauma based but I had glandular fever in my teens and never felt right after.
Just had referral to chronic pain clinic after a 4 year wait.
I have lost friends and family are impatient with me. Some days I just don’t want to be here.

Bless you. I hope things improve. Hang in there, you never know when things might change (I certainly never expected anything to get better)
I haven't seen Unrest, but I'll add it to my Netflix list. I did have glandular fever myself though, while at school, which is curious. Didn't matter how many times I told the PE teachers I'd been told by the Dr to not do anything physical for at least 6 months, or how many notes I handed in, I'd have the same argument every session.

      @@LewBearMusic Hi there!
Absolutely the same with me at school with Glandular fever a d a parent who just wanted me out of the way. I was so unwell I could hardly stand . I remember everything even though I was just 14, I am 57 now.
Just woken up from keeling over on the sofa around 4pm this afternoon. Then the confusion , and guilt. Luckily I live alone now, which is ok until I need help …. Then there is mine as my family don’t understand . I have 2 friends left , had to give up a job I loved and working for myself , I had to give up my lovely horse and all the long beach walks . I long to swim in the sea but can’t drive now to a good beach. I live on the Severn estuary and it’s currents are dangerous and it’s too silty .
      Sorry I am rambling now.
The list is endless isn’t it , the huge domino effect .
Well, Thank You for taking the time to reply .
      Take good care ,
      Sharon . X

Just remember everyone has a different body and what works for one may not work for another. You have to take into account all other changes in a body over the years as well as fibromyalgia and like l said everyone’s different. If you can get fibromyalgia under control you are extremely lucky there are people who like me have tried everything and bloody nothing works l have a lot of other illnesses in my body that are permanent as well. I have had fibromyalgia since in my twenty’s now l am 64 years old. I was diagnosed at 35 with fibromyalgia. To do with diet l am allergic to so many foods. My pain never ever leaves me.

Avoid the Nightshade family plant foods: White potato’s, peppers, aubergine, chillis, tomatoes.
    Also eggs.
Thank you Lew. I am so glad you found happiness during your dark days and how supportive they are .
I wish you The Best Life you can have with this disease .
Have you watched UNREST on Netflix. ? It’s out now. 6/7/21.
    Very interesting and also heartbreaking.
We are the missing. This disease takes so much from us we are never out and about like every day people . I am

Thank you for sharing ! It's good to see these vids to know I'm not alone . I've had this miserable existence since I was 14 or so sucks dude ... I've been working on it and I've improved but still... not enough . I really just particularly want this poisoning feeling to go away . Feeling jumpy and nerves are a wreck and that constant poisoning feeling coursing through my blood it's like I wake up and drink antifreeze and dirty motor oil or something , nausea every day (but I have a med that is a miracle for that thank lord) , the freaky flashes of Light and weird things , stomache yafda yadda yadda . At this point I've just accepted that this is gonna be my life for the rest of my natural life . 🙃 it is what it is I guess 🤷 I've contemplated death many many times but i can't for some reason . I guess I have to eat the pain and deal with it .

I live in the US and there is an antidepressant which relieves the pain of fibromyalgia. I don’t have depression - the pain specialists had me try it - I didn’t and don’t have depression but within 3 days I felt a difference. Still convinced it wasn’t a ‘real’ thing. - I decided not to take it and pain was immediate - so have taken it for almost 13 years - it’s not perfect - good days/bad days but better than before 🤞

Ty for this! I've had a similar experience. It's been alittle more than pure hell. I had afew other things as well, a meningioma tumor on my spine, multiple joint necrosis from the lovely steroids the Drs put me on during the tumor removal, leading to bilateral hip replacements. My right shoulder needs replacing as well, but the hips were soooooo bad. I just haven't built up the courage to go in again. My fm seemed to start right after I picked up a tick disease. I was treated for the tick bite w/ antibiotics. And it cleared up according to the blood tests, but the fm pain remained. That was 20 yrs ago. I'm 44 now. Have you ever had a tick BW panel done? It's a thought.

    • @LewBearMusic
      @LewBearMusic  7 років тому +2

I'm sorry you've had to go through that. Mine sounds like a breeze in comparison. I haven't had a tick BW panel done. It may have been triggered by that, but as I said, I'm basically sorted now - even my immune system is almost back to normal now and a cold for me is just a bit heavier than for an average person, and no longer hits me as hard as the flu.

PS...you would think that in this day and age with so many millions with FMS that doctors around the world would have figured out that this syndrome does exist, that we all have similar symptoms, that we all dont know each other so arent making it up...wake up medical people and help us instead of telling us we're depressed (we're just so darned frustrated at not being believed not depressed) or that its all in our heads.!!!

Try looking up FODMAP diet..but just because 1 person says try this,, dont eat that, doesnt mean it will work for you. Its a process of elimination. Lew cant eat meat, dairy etc. I cant eat much raw fruit, lentils, legumes, garlic onions and many other things...yet Inused to live on them before I got sick. Sadly there is no magic cure, but some things might ease your symptoms. Good luck....My dietitian put me on to FODMAPS and it didnt take me long to find out what irritated me but Im not sure whether thats to do with my FM or my Crohns

Fascinating. I have gout but don’t drink, nor does my brother. My son and Mom have gout and do drink alcohol. I take allopurinal daily, but still have pain. Can only eat 2-4 oz. of fish or chicken daily and once a month can have beef under 4 oz. I’d like to try no red meat and more fish to see if that helps. I have fatty liver disease and am prediabetic. I’ve grown to look forward to sweets once a day and my Dr.thinks that’s a HUGE contributor to my pain. I almost can’t work anymore. I only take two, most three salon customers per day and have to work 6 days to survive on such a short day. Thank God I’m a colorist. My son was a musician but couldn’t get free from the alcohol after 20 years so went back to school and works with computers and data now. Please post any other good ideas. They can tease your Uris acid levels to see if you have gout and take meds.

Thanks for the tip re bovine products, I have low iron levels so have been eating more recently. I discovered coffee, gluten & alcohol make my symptoms worse, if I’m in flare up dairy pushes me over the edge. I’m curious what are the conditions you think fibro is being misdiagnosed as?

I'm sorry your so called friends were too dumb to realize that all illnesses are not visible. I have fm also, but I look totally fine. Some days are really good and others are so not. When I moved, there was a point And time when I cried my eyes out bec I wasn't sure I could complete the move. Ppl never see us when we go through that, so it's easy for them to judge.
I was dating, (which is a nightmare)
But I learned not to tell guys what is wrong with me. In all of their arrogant so called "wisdom" they are probably thinking, great one day in going to have to take care of her. So when I found out that their entire attitude changed after I told them, I stopped telling them. Men are not nearly as understanding about medical conditions as women are.

    Does diary include eggs?

    • @LewBearMusic
      @LewBearMusic  3 роки тому +1

Not in my instance, no. Mine was proteins from the family Bovidae, which includes the meat and dairy from cows, sheep, goats, etc.
However, as I'm fairly certain it was coz a virus triggered an immune response against these proteins, for someone else, it could be the immune response triggered it against other things.
For yet other people, the immune system probably plays no part. I'm certain "Fibromyalgia" is at least half a dozen different things lumped together.

azaz z In a sense yes, because my symptoms are gone so long as I avoid the beef, lamb etc proteins.
In a sense no because I'm not sure that strictly speaking I ever had fibromyalgia to be cured of it - and I think that is true for a good percentage of people diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I think a lot of doctors are starting to diagnose any pain/fatigue conditions they don't understand as fibromyalgia and my food intolerance is one of them
I imagine a lot of people are intolerant to the same foods as I am, and hopefully they'll find this video and cure/manage themselves. Sadly I also know this wont help a lot of people directly, but by removing one group of people with a different condition wrongly diagnosed, with a bit of luck it will make any new medical trials more accurate for them
