  • Ok, So..... The exact name of this mine system is up for debate. I have read that this could be one of three diff. mines. each study I read is more confusing than the last. but still a very cool location. this was a gold mine, and was rumored to have a lot of high grade gold ore.
Big thanks to my friends, Mike and Leigh! you guys are the best!

I lived in Valdez back in the early 70’s, my dad worked on the pipeline. Mineral creek was our playground and we used to hike up it all the time.mob course we never got this far! There used to be old military buildings and other decrepit mining equipment along it, closer to Valdez. I always thought the mineral creek gorge area was absolute heaven on earth, so beautiful!

The creek really is something special... I've spent quite a lot of time up and down those trails. there is still some old mining stuff around 7-8miles up on the other side of the creek. and the stampmill is still standing at Brevier creek. There is a mining show that has been filming for a couple years now too. Something for the Discovery channel. His Name is Dave Turin. it hasent aired yet i dont thing but it will soon. Thanks for Watching!
