@@driger888 I thought Temi played well. Nalyssa did nothing while she was in. I would have liked to see Wheeler in the second half and I think Lexie sat a bit too long. But you can't play everyone all the time.
For a young team with all the pressure and attention on them I thought they had a good year. Look at how many other teams and players handled it poorly. Angel crumbled because of the pressure and the league and media should be embarrassed that they didn't protect all the rookies this year. They wanted the attention but I don't like what I saw. There's a few players I liked after seeing them, but for the most part they are not likable as people.
@@amomentofclarity6318 props to the fever, they made the playoffs for the first time in nearly ten years, and likely would still be in the playoffs had the referees not ripped them off. temi had only 9 points in 35 minutes, while alyssa thomas put up mvp numbers against her. temi's a good backup, but not a great starter. they beat the sun starting smith before, why not go with what has worked in the past. smith has the muscle to match up with thomas. everytime sides has benched smith this year they've lost.
@@driger888 I don't think of Temi as an offensive weapon. I think of her more as a defensive player that gives us confidence and an aggressive attitude. Any points are a luxury. I actually like Nalyssas game, but it's her effort I question. I don't see it when they play Sun. It happens in other games but not nearly as much. I try to remember that she's still young and figuring out stuff just like the rest of the team. Dontas didn't really seem to get into a rhythm. I thought Kelsey played much better on defense. Mayberry hit big shots but wasn't as involved in the offense as the other game.
They got closer and now all have a feel for how things go in the playoffs. Even though they've had pressure all year, the playoffs are something they haven't been through together.
I really like Thomas's game. Bonner too. The player with the long arms that guarded CC the other game. I'm new to the league but have always been terrible with names, but I think that's her. It sucks that so many of the players are people that make me want to cheer against them. Not because of CC. Not because they're black or gay or anything else. That's not why I watched.
Sadly, if they had built up all the rookies and given them the appropriate credit and respect they deserved instead of pushing the Bird and Magic black vs white thing, I would be saying how great the other players are because they were able to beat someone I liked and thought was good. I'm not sure I expressed that right but that's the best I can do right now.
The refs were bad all year and I'm sure that'll be addressed in the off-season along with other stuff. I thought they were better last night than they have been all year. Not just this game but all the games I tried to watch trying to become a fan. I don't think it's why they lost last night but it didn't help.
This has been the norm in the WNBA for decades. It's literally a women's prisonyard.
That's why they don't want all the new eyes on the league, they don't want to be scrutinized for running the cray house.

What I’ve noticed about Naylissa is that she purposely misses layups that are assisted by Caitlyn quite often during games. Naylissa is a big time CC hater for various reasons and I noticed it at the beginning of the season. I’ve been campaigning for Naylissa to be traded since the season started. There’s been a change in hierarchy so we’ll see what changes will be made after the season ends!

I was watching a guy who really knows basketball yesterday showing how Aliyah was not setting blocks for Caitlin, but just letting their guards run right by and smothering Caitlin. Clark should consider moving to Euroleague for good. People in the US would still be watching Clark just like people in Europe do now, in WNBA. It is not safe for her to play in WNBA. It is not matter of "toughness" but self preservation. It was a very close call in the Sun game - she could have permanently lost vision in that eye or maybe lost this eye altogether. I fear it is just a matter of time she gets intentionally injured and we are talking about at least season ending injury.

This is not basketball; it's roller derby disguised as basketball. Perhaps the league will clean this mess up during the offseason, but it is dire need of a complete makeover, in order to help preserve the skilled players from getting unnecessary injuries, such as CC and Cameron Brink.

I mean there are literally hundreds of studies backing this up. It's not new information. I selected from a range of time frames as well. Studies from the 90's through to current date. Simply put, it's a game played by skilled players working together. It's the little girls and boys screaming their heads off for their favorite player and team. Walking around in the streets of Indianapolis the night before the game...boys and girls, Moms and Dad's, Grandmas and Grandpas proudly wearing jerseys of their favorite team. It is pure positive energy and excitement that is the opposite of today's doom and gloom news. It's a bright spot in the life of these people. They are naturally gravitating towards universal good.

Everybody following Whitlock up on this stupid idea that NaLyssa Smith should be CC's enforcer mess. When has NS ever had Caitlin's back on the court? Seriously, CC has been cheap shotted numerous times this season, and I have NEVER seen NS get up in someone's face or put someone on their ass next play. It's not just an issue when the Fever plays DiJonai Carrington. Also, NS is not even tenacious enough to play consistent defense, dive for 50/50 balls, or set an even half-way decent screen. So how is she gonna be someone's "enforcer"?? You just don't appoint a tone setter, he or she comes from a player that loves their teammates, has loyalty to the captain, and willing to play very physical defense with whomever necessary.
Last time Fever played Sun & Thomas threw her shoulder into Clark’s jaw, knocking her to the floor, Smith showed no concern, but then later in the game, Carrington got knocked to the floor, & Smith ran over to check on her! How could any of Smith’s Fever teammates & Sides accept this behavior? Smith has shown her true allegiance all season, both on the Court and on Twitter, and it’s not to the Fever.

If an athlete allows their personal life to compromise their game, it is no different than point shaving or throwing games. Brothers play against each other in football. If they can't play for their team and try to defeat their brother's team, they have no business playing. the same applies here. If a woman can't give her all in competition, she is cheating her team and teammates.

I was just talking about this yesterday after the Fever announced they have a new President of basketball and business.
1. Get a new GM
2. Get a new coach
3. Get rid of Smith
4. Get two enforcers
5. Have a fund to pay for the fines that the enforcers are getting have to pay the league for protecting CC.

The fight Probert had with Claude Lameaux (Colorado Avalanche) was epic. Bob beat the hell out of Lameaux the following game after Lameaux
broke a Detroit player’s jaw with a cheap shot.
Def a conflict bc Smith could throw the game for her GF. You can't trust her bc who she is sleeping with and that person hates Clark.
If Clark is out I'm out. Clark has brought excitement, interest, and viewership to the game. None of these mean girls could do that. Clark is a Phenom and she brought an audience as well as numbers and skills to back it up. Which is why people want to see her play. It also highlights the unprofessional behavior of other players which is a total turn-off to Clark's audience/fans. "WHY"? didn't they get the viewership previous to Clark? They should embrace Clark and thank her they are now known unfortunately for the WRONG reason.
You can tell who's in charge in that relationship. Smith's lover pokes Smith's teammate in the eye and Smith said, "Nah, I'm good."
No frikkin enforcers! You want to turn the team dirty? Violence is a league problem! The NBA had its period of slammer ball with the Detriot Pistons in the 80's & 90's snf not until they made rule changes and introduced fines and suspensions was the game cleaned up. The WNBA needs more offcial action, not bringing in thugs.
Smith is history as a Fever team member. I seriously doubt that any other team will pick her up because they know that she will have that conflict of interest every time they go up against Carrington. She lacks team loyalty and she soft.
