5e really should have had an actual fighting style for shields, I hate that all shields are either used to shove or are considered improvised weapons..
I mean, there IS protection, which is perfect for Braum (and yes i know it doesnt do anything for attacking with a shield. But it IS a fighting style that involves shields)

Awesome build, I think the only thing I would change is to swap Storm Herald for Ancestral Guardian to be more defensive by imposing yourself between your team and the opponents.
Definitely a thought, but I think giving Braum the cold resistance and the Guardian rune via the temp hit points on raging is more accurate, but that’s the best part of these builds. Can definitely take them in different directions and still be relatively accurate

Glad I could help! We actually used this build in one of our community events where I created the ARAM map and had Patreon peeps siege down the enemy nexus. The final fight ended with Braum flinging Cho'Gath off the bridge with his shield haha.
@@DoransAndDragons That sounds awesome. I do have some changes that I made when using this video for inspiration. I would focus more on feats as a way of getting magic abilities, while making him a god with a shield. This way you don't have to tech into monk, or druid at all. I would take 16 levels of Cavalier fighter, with 4 levels of storm herald barbarian. Using Goliath as a race. The feats I take are Tavern Brawler (thanks for that idea), Shield Master, and Magic Initiate (Sorcerer) grabbing ray of frost, frostbite, and shield.
The problem I have personally with this build is, it goes everywhere. 4 classes in one character is a lot, and some level are wasted on this. If the Protection FS is really important, one of the newest UA feat could do just that. And 5 lvl in Monk for Stunning Strike, when half of the others Monk feature don't synergize with the rest of the build seem really wasted. I would have put only 3 lvl in Monk, instead of 5, and no lvl in Figther, so you can have more Barbarian or Druid lvl, and try to have the "Shield Training" feat, so you can cast Spells from the Shield. The build would be really Feats-heavy, but that's a price to pay. P.S. : I don't play LoL, that's just my point of view on the build.
That’s totally fair! My favorite part about doing these builds is that there are always tweaks and other ways to accomplish the goals set forward haha.
I know I have made something similar to Braum in a campaign I was in, and it was very different from this. However, that campaign was very homebrew, so I could basically make them what I wanted, so it was a Vastyan Bear with a Hextechs augmented shield, with some stoneweaving added it for some fun. It also comes with insane strength being that I role 7 D6's for every strength action, because homebrew. However, everything else is lower than I would like, however 2 dice is average and my minimum.

Im actually playing “Descend into Avernus” playing as Braum but named “Bheler Dragonor” i built it slightly diffetent. 1 lvl barb, and then Eldritch knight full fighter. Being able to shoot a ray of frost as Braum’s Q and its ultimate as “Erupting earth”. The only problem with my build is the amount of feats... shield master, tavern brawler and Tough its too much jajajaja... im only lvl 4 so i havent completed the build yet
As much I love monks, it would be better to erease the monk multiclass, put 3 levels on fighter to choose battle master so you can add even more defensive options. Iceborns are not common humans, so Goliath is pretty much a better choice. I know, good bye feat but i rather choose the Ancestral Guardian subclass (and keep the cold resistance by race) so you can add EVEN MORE defensive options to your mates. Probably something like 6 barbarian/3 fighter/11 druid would work pretty ok. With Tasha's Wild Companion you can have always a poro with you. With the changes, frost bite would be replaced by ray of frost. Is better to have a lower hit chance than a lower DC for the most part, specially when delaying the caster levels. If you want to keep tavern brawler, go for 6/6/8. More hp, less frost magic but 2 extra feats. Also Folk Hero (As Greaywall suggested) is quite more on point.
Just found your videos! I like this kind of stuff a lot. It'd be a challenge I think (and likely end up Druid, gag), but my suggestion for next champion to tackle would be Elise!

I think braum would be better as a Goliath , 1.They are tall and powerfull 2. They have cold resistance

The issue is that Braum doesn't rage. He is the opposite of rage.
Rage is merely a state of mind. I've used Rage as a Zen state of focus before. Braum's rage could merely be a more driven version of himself.
