this is such a nice footage! Most of the time I don't like the bolex 8mm footages (of these I ve seen so far) but this one is great!! love it so much! very nice scenery. the music adds a lot too! (now considering buying this camera on the Swiss Ebay Version)
Hello! I'm a new Bolex user. I also have a DL8. This video is lovely! Did you use the chart on the camera to set the light meter index number? Did you adjust that number at all for modern vs. old film or just use the same ASA as your new film? Thanks!
Can you tell me what lens you used for this film? Yvar, Lytar, SOM Berrthiot, Pixar, Switar, or some other brand? Also, what focal length? 5.5mm, 12.5mm, 36mm, or something else? Thanks.
I have the same camera, it is a double 8 model, I tried but could not find any Kodak Vision 3 in Double 8, Super 8 yes but not Double 8. I would be grateful if you could share where you purchased the film. Love the footage by the way, the world looks better on film.
This is cool, thanks for linking the store to purchase the 8mm film. I have about 5 Bolex 8mm cameras and all been CLA and ready to go....
Your judgement of light for exposure is outstanding!
The through the lens exposure meter gets all the credit.

Fantastic footage! I love the light leaks ;-) But trying to figure out what the geared thing in the lower right frame is.
That's the lens cap on the 13mm lens.
So cool! Really love it

Please if you could tell us where you got the transfer done?
Spectra Film & VIdeo in Burbank did the transfer. They're very nice people.
Thank you. This combo of Vision film and that transfer is just amazing!
Are you filming at 16fps or 24?
@@Asset1968 Just saw your message. I always shoot at 24fps, in every gauge - unless I want slow motion effect or I have extremely low light.
Where to get am 8mm Film in this days?
I added URL to the description above. Thanks for asking.
Perfect exposure, did you sue the bolex built in light meter?
I sued and I won.
Ha crap, I meant “use”
beautiful! :)

Here's the camera: ua-cam.com/video/2tx8e-UcJfc/v-deo.html I believe that film was shot entirely with 5.5mm.
@@concorde2003 Thanks, but the link says it is a private video. Do you know which brand 5.5mm lens was used?
Fixed. I only put Switar lenses on Bolex cameras, unless I'm just trying to fill a hole on a turret.
OK great - thanks for the info!
Another question - did you use a tripod for a lot of these shots or were they all handheld?
Wow! Just came across. Where did you purchase this double 8 vision 3 color negative stock? Very nice quality. Regards
Thanks. See description for film source.
lovely man
