- Arturia Minibrute 2 re-recording of a track I originally made with the Minibrute SE, which, along with this version, can be found here: tomorrowthecur...
Recorded over 4 tracks on an iPad, with AUFX DUB delay and EOS2 reverb. As before it's just overdubbing parts in a linear fashion, albeit simpler and with less sound effects/details than the original Minibrute SE recording.
More Melodic Minibrute:
Minibrute 2 with Roland D-05: • Arturia Minibrute 2 & ...
Minibrute 2 Solo Sequence: • Arturia Minibrute 2 So...
Minibrute 2 with Modular synth: • Minibrute 2 & Modular ...
Some alternate versions and exclussive videos can be found on my Patreon page for anyone willing to throw a $ tip into my hat. / dreamsofwires

More Minibrute 2, Roland D-05, Volva FM, modular and other stuff coming soon.
Thanks for taking the time to listen, watch and read.
Beautiful demonstration of the minibrute not having to be harsh and aggressive
Thank you very much.
Finally a video that gets on with just actually using this synth and showing us it in action.
Segr geil, bin begeistert...gefällt mir sehr...super... schön Ambient..
Vielen Dank.
Arturia makes some fantastic, solidly built and reasonably priced stuff. This is a really lovely demo - thank you ☺️
You're welcome, thanks for watching.
This song transported me through a portal when I first heard it. It became very hypnotic to me, and is on my (long road trip) playlist permanently.
That's really nice to know, thanks for telling me.
This is by far the only worthy to watch Minibrute 2 video...thank you!
Thank you for watching.
Obsessed with the tone, and everything else really. The entire atmosphere is lovely
Thank you, I'm glad you think so.
Wow. Very inspiring 🌌
Thank you
That's a good looking synth for the size.
I'm Getting one ! I been stewing over Behringer Ms-1 and Nov Bass Station and this but I like the modular inputs, that's a good learning tool and this video...... the thing sounds great ......I'm getting one !
Love the character you pull out of your gear. Well done! Thanks for sharing!
That's great to know. Thanks for listening.
Because of you, I accidentally bought one! Can't wait to receive it now! Got the 2s so I can have the crazy sequencer and use a keyboard if I need it!
Now I have to buy one of these!!
Excellent...I was getting depressed because I couldn't justify spending £999 on the Korg MS20 FS and low and behold this video turns up, not only is your music par excellence but the Minibrute 2 could be the solution to my dilema..thank you..
Thank you very much. I'd like another MS20 for drones, but the MB for patterns/arps. Lovely solid machine.
Magnificent. Great synth in very capable hands. Your demo works. It makes me want to buy a MiniBrute, and on the other hand I am already listening to your album on Bandcamp.
Thank you very much. Best of luck with the Minibrute if you buy one, it's a great synth. Hope you like the album too.
@@DreamsOfWires Hi mate, I noticed you had the S version of the synth also...which one do you prefer, if you had to chose between the 2 and why?
Deep sounds, and beautifully made video, 👍!
Thank you very much :)
Impressive sounds on this Minibrute 2. Might be worth to put on the wish list :~)
Worth looking at the original version too, it's half the price, but the patchbay really opens things up on the new version.
Superb! Great tune as always.
I'm glad you think so, thank you.
A way to focus the mind
I really like these tones. A very beautiful piece of synth music.
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it.
fantastic work as always.Love the stuff you do. Thanks
Thanks Marc, I really appreciate that.
I hope you've been well. We messaged some time ago, I'm in SFO. I'm buying this synth tomorrow. Came back to listen to this wonderful soundscape you created.
Thank you, I hope you've been well too, it's nice to hear from you again. I guess you moved back to SFO? Glad to hear you're still making music, I liked the track you showed me.
@@DreamsOfWires Glad you recall the facts, thank you. Yes, I am back in SFO and feel so inspired again, after all that journey. I'm so pleased to see your videos are still very intrguing soundscapes. Very nice that your channel came into my feed again.
That's great to hear. I don't make many videos anymore, or use use social media much nowadays, but I still check FB sometimes if you'd like to keep in touch. I hope you get on well with the Minibrute too.
@@DreamsOfWires Thank you! Yes, am so scarce online as well.
Awesome!
Thank you.
Well this is surprisingly lush. I have the original Minibrute, and while I do love its aggressive side, I'm thinking of complementing it with a 2S to get a wider sound palette.
Edgar Froese approves!
Excellent
Thank you
Great version.
Thank you.
beautiful!
Thank you.
nice
Thank you
Nice 👍🏼
Thank you.
Yet more sterling work sir, great stuff. :)
Thanks very much Paul :)
Very beautiful sounds! How do you like the Minibrute 2S vs the Minibrute SE? I have the Minibrute SE and am wondering if its worth upgrading?
Thank you. I like both about the same I think, but it totally depends on the individual regarding upgrading.
@@DreamsOfWires would you ever do a demo using the MBSE and MB2S together?
I would have liked to, but I no longer own them; I had to sell them to help fund this channel.
Great job...!
Thank you
.....great....
Sounds spiffy :D
Jolly good! Thank you.
Superb 😃
Thank you.
That 6 minutes really flew by. Got completely lost in this track. Beautiful melodies, sound design and space, with gorgeous camera angles to boot. Wonderful video.
Thank you very much, that's really great to hear.
nice Sound
Gruß aus Deutschland
Vielen dank.
This sounds incredible! I just picked one of these synths up and I'm loving it. How do you make that pad sound at 1:56? Ive been trying for ages lmao
Thank you very much. It's a really good synth, especially with the patch bay, best of luck with it. Pad sound: I can't remember to be honest.
That pad sound: I think you make that by tweaking knobs and sliders for anywhere between 15 seconds and 15 hours, and sometime within that time interval it just magically appears.
I would give him a job in my music shop
I need a job too.
This is awesome! What kind of camera do you use to record?
Very nice! The Minibrute 2 seems to sound much better than the initial version... or maybe you are just recording it better?
Thanks. The new version can make some timbres that the original can't.
Are the microbrute and minibrute 2 too similar to have together?
Why am I getting so much hate when I bring these up like “ you know their mono right” I get that… but all the people with poly are running various things off their poly synths anyway. I’m
Not interested in chourds.
As
Someone who wants to have one of these and a drum
Machine like a tr-707 or even 505… is that really a poor idea. I wanna stay minimal. And I want sounds that are 80s sounding like early DM or
Numan or synth punk that’s a bit dirty sounding..
Should
I be looking at a boutique Roland in this price range instead….?
I'm moved.
That's great to know.
How do you play the keyboard at the same time than sequencer. I thought the sequencer stop when you play the key. Thanks, im just starting with the minibrute 2.
Delpiano Nicolás it is a multi-tracked performance, so the sequenced part and the lead were played at different times.
Deus Ex soundtrack like
No point listening I any synth stuff on UA-cams with out headphones. Pointless . This is beauty as usual . You think this good first synth rather than mother 32?
Thank you. I can't recommend particular instruments, it's impossible to know what someone else will like, but I'd say any synth is a good first, you learn what you like from it and can go from there. That's all I did, trial and error.
don't start with mother 32: it's more for advanced users because of its limitations and eurorack format. you can do a lot with it but you have to know quite a few tricks that won't be immediately apparent. and it's not as much bang for the buck as Behringer Neutron or their Minimoog replica, which offer similar architectures and textures (why don't they make keyboard versions of these two is beyond me). Sounds like you're into a mono synth. Minibrute 2 is reasonable for the money. The keyboard version makes much more sense as beginner synth, especially as MB2S disappoints in that the keyboard and wheels are not the only tradeoffs for the mega sequencer it offers: don't ask me why but you also lose triplets and arp modes, and any reasonable way of controlling gate on both arp (always 50%) and sequencer (impossible set gate quickly or use gate changes in performance). Other option is the amazing Bass Station 2. Minibrute 2 is the most didactic, you can just look at it and learn just because of the layout. And you can get into modular. Bass station has presets with a quick and easy way to set the knobs in the preset place. They both have great performance-oriented arpeggiators. Sequencer on the MB2 has real time record, the lack of which is the biggest flaw of Bass Station 2 but think you can have loads of sequences saved in BS2 and only like 8 or so in MB2. With Novation you get functionality-enhancing OS updates that will never exist with Arturia. The other keyboard mono synth you might want to consider if the semi-modular capabilities are of interest is the Moog Grandmother, which is very cool but more expensive. Bulky and lacks neat organization of patchbay on MB2
1chipchap Best first synth??? Yamaha Reface CS... great sound, polyphonic, fx, nice keyboard, many sweet spots, low learning curve. Mother 32, Neutron, Model D, etc, those are much more advanced and can be very frustrating for beginners. CS is < $300, and will act as a keyboard/MIDI controller for the other synths (M32, Neutron, Model D) which have no keyboard.
This Synth is a tweaker's sandbox, but for traditional music makers it's too time consuming and convoluted.
Awesome!
Thank you.
I love your music. Unfortunately I’ve returned the minibrute 2 after a few days and got a keystep pro instead more useful for what I create. Again....your music is heaven 100%
Thank you very much. I like both, still miss my old Minibrute actually.
Beautiful music. Lovely flow... Well done!
Thank you very much.
Having another listen...
Excellent work as always. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you very much.
Superb music! Awesome sounds! ❤️
Thank you very much.
