@@manifestedstar668 Most people think he was a waste of a vote, was hard carried by his country and figured he’d beat no one in the final summit. I am not one of those people
Spoilers: Even though he got 3-0'd, Naetoru didn't go full on tilt, he still played well, and was generally staying alive a lot longer with the exception of that dash attack killing at 120% which was pretty funny
No hate, why was naetoru at summit? His results are so middling, and with only one win at a tournament with almost no notable players. He just looked so out of place this summit
ok look, I know, its Leo, so I want to believe that he probably knows something that I don't. BUT as a MK main, it pains me to see him not even attempting to go off stage to edge guard. Even when the other player already exhausted their jump. Granted, Pichu's up b can mix things up but there was so many situations when just hovering tornado by ledge would cover SOOOOO many options. But no, he was Just sitting by ledge and hoping for a forward smash two frame. That, and he didn't up out of shield at all. He also kept trying to down throw into RAR downair when RAR up air would have worked waaayy better. But eh, I cant fully blame him because he doesnt play this character fr fr. Its impressive that he's even able to do so much with him already... I mean, I definitely couldnt just go to Summit and play some character I don't really play for real against someone's main and STILL 3-0 them....
In squad strike, he was an edgeguarding MACHINE. His meta knight play was inspirational in the squad strike event. You should check it out, it was way more overwhelming than his play here (which was also good)
@SleepyFawn oh I see, I'll check it out. So he definitely knows his edge guarding capabilities. It's weird that he rarely attempted it this match. Maybe he knew he could get easy edgeguards but he literally just used this game as practice to land the forward smash 2 frame? That's disrespectful asf if that's the case lmao. This pichu was trying his hardest 110% meanwhile Leo is like, "OK let's see if this works this time." You mean to tell me dude was literally having batting practice the whole match?? That's willlddddd mkleo is scary 😨
@@GoharioFTW To be fair, being offstage against the mice is really dangerous, since they also have some of the best edgeguarding in the game. Leo said in one of these summit interviews that he gets edgeguarded a ton against pikachu/pichu, and that with meta knight it won't happen as easily.
@@GoharioFTW Sleepy is right from what I got, Leo says at the interview just after the match that he chose the matchup because it was best against pichu relatively to edge situations, he surely favored safety. Nae never either attemped anything offstage in this whole match while before he won a lot through spikes and thunder setups, I guess on both sides the other character off stage is too dangerous for a positive risk/reward ratio
@@Shade-Spark fair enough. I definitely take a more aggressive approach when it comes to edgeguarding, at least to the point that I wouldn’t just o n l y sit and fish for one option that I have not consistently landed. I’ve edgeguarded the rats pretty successfully in the past but I definitely can’t say that they were at the level of the person that Leo’s playing against. I guess in the end it was just Leo playing with respect. The boring answer, but the one that makes the most sense.
I'm just a humble middling 12.8 gsp Ike, so I know leo would destroy me. So save the comments. All I'm saying is if I can see how much Leo is rolling from the ledge in this Summit, all the competition can see it as well. It's a bad habit. Edit: Leo is my favorite player, so I just wanna see my guy play well 💯
Even if it's a bad option, if your opponent just WON'T punish you, you might as well do it instead of risking the option that they ARE expecting. But yeah roll from ledge is really predictable

Naetoru is a very good player, but i think he needed more experience out of Europe. I hope he can be more out of Europe for a better experience.

always love to see Leo's Meta Knight
The French commentator was great, the commentary is low key the best part of Summit
Can we all agree that Pichu is convincingly THE-MOST-STRESSFUL-CHARACTER TO PLAY!?
At least Leo tried😢
PGStats would have made an amazing video out of this Summit.

Honestly the meta knight makes sense joker and byleth I'm pretty sure do poorly against pikachu and since it's pichu it's pretty similair
I wonder if Leo's metaknight would work against pikachu too, it's not quite the same but it's similar.
MK has a better matchup against Pikachu than against pichu
He picked up meta knight specifically for pikachu, pichu and I think Kazuya (might be wrong about that last one, but riddles has been beating him)

Why do pichu players not just switch to pikachu?

Who is that European commentator?? He's hilarious!
They should have unerfed a bunch of characters after the dlc came out and raised the bar. Pichu with his forward tilt back might not be top 10 today.
