- Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) is a greenfield industrial planned city near Dholera in Gujarat's Ahmedabad district, around 100 kilometers to the south-west.[2][3] spread over more than 920 km2 it is a new industrial city being jointly developed by the Government of India and Gujarat. Dholera is strategically located, well connected with trade gateways and falls in the influence zone of proposed Delhi - Mumbai Industrial Corridor project (DMIC), a joint initiative by the Government of India and Japan.
A legal framework known as the Special Investment Region Act 2009 was made by the Government of Gujarat. A regional development authority for DSIR has been constituted in accordance with the act.[4] The Dholera Special Investment Region Development Authority (DSIRDA) would be in charge of managing government land within DSIR in addition to planning and developing DSIR. The Central Government (NICDC Trust) and the State Government (DSIRDA) of Gujarat have formed an SPV called Dholera Industrial City Development Limited (DICDL) to carry out the project.[5] A special purpose business called the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited (NICDC) was founded in order to create, support, and facilitate the development of the DMIC Project.[6]

Besides all the necessary economic growth. It is important to don't forget the social and ecological aspects and focus a human centric city design. This is important for a happy life and high standard of living for which European cities are envied for.
To all who are saying that the progress is slow, I agree 100% but you need to understand that the city has an innate self financing model through the sale of lands. So for dholera to make money, there needs to be few anchor investors who will make huge investments in dholera thus increasing the price of land in dholera considerably, then dholera can sell those lands at increased prices,make money and further grow itself. So wait for the expressway to get finished and have a few big investments to take off, i guarantee that this project will be a success.
It also took noida and gurugram to come up. It can take 30 years for cities to happen

For those people commenting of slow progress I agree, see funds/investments come gradually and can take years. Public Private partnerships also carefully take steps, & recently Covid & War dented the process and geopolitical situations like these also effect the FDIs. Once the foundation is made, the growth of these cities will grow exponentially.

Myth is that this project started in 2009 but reality is this project originally start working on ground in 2016-17. It is 960 sqqkm project and master plan is done by AECOM (Worlds trusted infrastructure firm) which is the master in new planned city. It is not easy to plan this kind of mega project particularly in India. It is strategically located in the center of Gujarat. Dholera Ahmedabad expressway will be handover in late by late Dec-2024. This express way directly connected to Delhi Mumbai industrial corridor.
First Fault I noticed is :- The Solar park is not as planned and not at a right place , it is made in " Costal Regulation Zone " , not as per town planning. Nobody is talking about that????🤔
Gift city is having better development at faster rate who is managing gift city? They should manage all major newer projects. Hope this city also have some great skyscrapers and wider roads.

Many Companies have bought land in dholera but not start building them, but in gift city, it is different as it is much closer to a big city, and is also just few kilometres from capital of Gujarat, so I guess untill dholera Ahmedabad expressway doesn't start, there won't be much construction, due to small 2 lane roads to dholera mean very less material can be transported....
Gift city prices are now not affordable for investment for common people. 1600 sq ft office price worth 1.75 cr & 800 sq ft. around 90 lacs... Dholera houses and offices will take 2-3 years and I believe around 2027 you will see significant development and still be great for investment.
