I doubt that 1m accuracy it's really achievable on a smartphone. Their modules doesn't compare to professional devices. 2-3 meters at most and that's it. Try GPS Test, but only using it's GPS module, not mobile and Wi-Fi networks (high accuracy). Try and record a track using a bicycle or walking and compare it with others. It's more transparent this way, since there are buildings and interference. You could see that another GPS Test app shows you 2-3 meters accuracy, not 1m.
tests are done without wifi and mobile network. I also compare with the real position. I also use GPS test for every phone and results are usually the same. It's only that phones tend to take averages (good ones) which makes results look better but as I use the same methodology for all phones, the comparison between two phones is realistic.
