Thanks for sharing the video with your seemingly easy demonstration. My Post Box is now mounted on to the wall. I hit a few snags along the way namely, sharpie pen ink had dried out 🤦♂️, spirit level was too big to fit inside the box (outside is arched) 🤦♂️ and more interestingly the drill bit melted inside the brick work just as I was drilling the last hole for the wall plug 🤦♂️. On the whole (no pun intended) I think I made good spectacle of myself for the neighbours 😂
Interestingly your UA-cam name is very pun-able for Astrophysicists with an interest in Black Holes and Social Gatherings. I'll be sure to check my sharpie ink before I start tomorrow! Nice one
ah- regret your solution of sending 'a new lock and 2 keys' (gratis - thank you), to replace my missing keys, because those keys were "out of stock", was a stretch too far! You advised me to "drill through the old lock to detach it and then replace it with the new". I had to buy a new drill to effect this (and the drilling took ages), bits of aluminium in thin ribbons and particles flew everywhere, the black metal surround of the box was bruised and battered, and I had to use a washer from the old lock barrel as there wasn't one included with the new barrel. Without a youtube video (not your own) I would have been totally unable to do this. P
How did you know yo use a 6mm masonry bit? I’m drilling holes for my letterbox tomorrow. I don’t think the screws supplied are big enough or strong enough
