- Tim Rogers hosted the WIDU Anniversary Traditional Night for Gospel Music legend Lee Williams. Special guests, Harvey watkins, George Dean, Keith Wonderboy Johnson, Melvin Williams and an allstar cast of back up singers provided the stage for a great reunion since Lee has been sick.

I was raised in a household with a dad that sang and played guitar in various gospel choirs when we were growing up. We enjoyed going to church and listening to the songs performed by traditional gospel groups local and national as they visited the local church's in Durham, NC. But it wasn't until my younger brother Randy introduced me to the sounds of the Canton Spirituals and Mr. Lee Williams and the Spiritual QC's out of Tupelo, Mississippi. His music gave me a life-long appreciation for Quartet music and years later I'm still inspired, motivated and blessed by this very talented and blessed man of God. Rest on Mr. Williams for your mansion in heaven awaits it's new owner.

It is so heartbreaking. I just found this man a month ago and devoured everything of his I can get my hands on. Lee has been suffering from dementia and Alzheimers for some years going back to his early 70s. It is so sad because I see God all over this man. It hurts to see this, but he did not give up--not one step of the way; I believe with all my heart that our Father has a special place for you, Lee, with him now because He needs good, strong, viable men like you to fight this on-going battle with Satan and his demons, which it's time to finally finish it. You have left a legacy here on earth where you will never, ever be forgotten. I wish I could hug you and give a huge kiss right now.
