I so wish I had this sort of tutorial available 36 years or so ago (pre-internet era). Anyhow, it is what it is. Very well explained and presented sir. Youngsters aspiring to be very good players have no excuses now. It is all online.
At the same time, everyone now knows the tricks since the information is readily available. Sort of a double edged sword. But, I agree, it's a plus in my eyes.
Thank you so much! I´ve been struggling with the tomahawk for so long, but now i can finally do it really good. At first I tried to do the reverse tomahawk without watching this, then i watched it and I can already after only 1 hour of practicing do the normal tomahawk really good, and the reverse tomahawk pretty good. Thank you!
Very detailed and useful description of the two serves. I have been looking for the explanation of kick serve for several years, without much success, until I found your videos. Keep up the good work. Thanks.
You are a genius, I'm from Argentina, and this is precius, really good video...It would be great if you make a video of how to defend that serves, i really like your channel...
Had been waiting for part 2 for a while. You do the reverse pendulum serve so effectively yet so effortlessly.. You are the best man.. Thanks a lot Hopefully I can learn to do it half as well as u do..
Thanks buddy, you’re an absolute genius, I recan it might have taken you at least about 1 month of continuous practice for everything which you’ve successfully learnt so far, keep it up
Great video once again! Suggestion for future videos: Subscribers send in short video clips in parts of the game where they struggle and you can analyze it and hopefully find a solution to the problem. I, for example, am struggling a lot with the ghost serve and I know many others do too, so I think it would be a highly requested series :)
Hi Bro, it's been like 3 week since your last video. I can't wait for the next part of this series hehehehe. I hope you get the opportunity to upload the video. I kinda miss your content xD. Seriously, you are an amazing coach, I like your explanations. Greetings from Colombia.
Great thanks! You are doing it really good and looks original.. I will excercise these to add to my serves arsenal! Subscribed and looking forward for your future pp videos🙏🏼✌🏼
Great video. I don't understand how some of the tomahawk serves are topspin while the ball is still being hit on the underside of the ball. It should at least be pure sidespin if you're hitting it at a 90 degree angle, no?
Quick tip: You are pronouncing Mura in Yoshimura like Mora, the u is pronounced like the oo in Moo, Yoshimoora :) Just don’t hold onto the U too long. Also I love your editing style!!!
Tomahawk serves allow one to make corkscrew serves. These balls tend to change direction a lot when they hit the table. Also , the ball can spin off in many different directions depending on what part of the ball the opponent hits. These are definitely tricker to return that brute force under spin.
Nice videos, nice intention. Sugestion: spread some towels sheets over the floor on the opponent side, so the kicking balls doesnt interfere in your voice. Best regards. Tito.
In the reverse pedulum, do you swing the racket in a straight line parallel with table's white line when you hit the ball ? I.e. do you hit the ball in the back? Or do you it somewhere between its back and sides?
Hello, Thanks for doing this tutorials they are very helpful. I am trying to follow them and concentrate on the serves that have lot's of spin. Somehow I cannot accomplish what I would like. Are there ever my serves be spiny? Cheers, Janusz
i like your serve videos! but guys take care of your knees while doing the tomahawk serve! as a child i did it very often. easier if your not that tall like i´m now^^
Tomahawk is one of my strongest and most deceptive serves but the major tradeof for me is simply that if I do it all the time I get tired and my play starts to deteriorate at the end of the set. It really takes a lot from your legs.
Please can you do video of grip in table tennis. Some players change grip like ovtcharov, boll, niwa. And others it isnt as clear like malong and fanzhendong.
Please, please make a video on how to return serves, my former coach advised his students to loop all serves. Not even Ma, Fan and Xu return ALL serves with loops. That's why he is my FORMER coach.
Yoshimura's serve is illegal by ITTF guidelines and rules, it says that the ball must be visible at all times from the start of the serve till the ball contacts the blade, in his case, he hides the contact behind his big head thereby confusing his opponents.. it will soon be enforced in ITTF tournaments wit the addition of challenges to a call/serve and the 6 point slomo cameras as standard
Great tutorial, but don't you think during reverse pendulum, you were tossing the ball towards yourself instead of a linear vertically upwards toss, i think your toss can cause a warning during matches.
I agree... In the competition clips it was noticeable that the toss was far closer to "near vertical" than in the tutorial. Perhaps he has a low ceiling.
Part 2. Enjoy.
Tomorrow Table Tennis [Non-profit] I really enjoyed that video! Great job!

Reverse Tomahawk is one of my favorites thanks for this :D
Quick tip: You are pronouncing Mura in Yoshimura like Mora, the u is pronounced like the oo in Moo, Yoshimoora :) Just don’t hold onto the U too long. Also I love your editing style!!!
THXX for your comment and information!!

Ovtcharov also serves some tomahawk serves😊
Nice videos, nice intention. Sugestion: spread some towels sheets over the floor on the opponent side, so the kicking balls doesnt interfere in your voice.
Best regards.
Tito.
Very useful, thanks for sharing the tutorial :-)

Can you do video about how to serve underspin or sidespin with the same movement, please?

Good video coach... Learned a lot
It’s been so long since you’ve posted! If you do, can you upload a video on how to receive different types of serves?

Hello, Thanks for doing this tutorials they are very helpful. I am trying to follow them and concentrate on the serves that have lot's of spin. Somehow I cannot accomplish what I would like. Are there ever my serves be spiny? Cheers, Janusz
Practice brushing separately. If you wanna send me a video, I can help you more specifically.
I tried to send a video but it failed. What is the way to send it? Janusz
哥们你能打过山东的市队的吗?感觉你水平很高呀
i like your serve videos! but guys take care of your knees while doing the tomahawk serve! as a child i did it very often. easier if your not that tall like i´m now^^

I like your videos. Thank you for making it.😀
Quick question, do you use chinese rubbers or western rubber in your forehand?
Please can you do video of grip in table tennis. Some players change grip like ovtcharov, boll, niwa. And others it isnt as clear like malong and fanzhendong.
It's rly a preference. As long as you feel comfortable, then it works.
Tomorrow Table Tennis [Non-profit] Do you change your grip? Please can you show your grip in a video. Thanks
Buenos servicios.
great video
very well explained!
Please, please make a video on how to return serves, my former coach advised his students to loop all serves. Not even Ma, Fan and Xu return ALL serves with loops. That's why he is my FORMER coach.
I think your coach meant you were supposed to loop all long serves.... it's very hard/impossible to loop a good short serve
Nice Ride me too, I am too old to loop every serve lmao
Stay tuned. Returning serves coming up soon!
No you can't rly loop a short serve lol But long serves yes
whats your combination of rubbers for both sides...?? thank you great videos
the best coach! thank you!
Keep doing the great work

What is the difference between the hook serve and tomahawk serves?
Reverse my hardest serve
Impressive as always.
0:34 O my goodness, that's one straight deceptive serve
The action and ball contact point looks similar for back spin and top spin... Can u please tell me the secret behind it
UM I think I explained in the video??
How to receive the boll
Your head was blocking the Yoshimura poster. That's why you couldn't remember his name lol
Some of the text showing the type of spin are not aligned with the Serve shown on the video. Please fix it.
Thanks 👍👏
Ending was really really cool

I am having a problem in judgeing the trajeory of ball wheather it would be long or short so can you please suggest me something
OFC coming soon
Tomorrow Table Tennis [Non-profit] thank you so much
This reverse pendulum is very solid, even at a slow motion it's hard to read the spin
will you do a video of corkscrew serve?
Yep in part 3
For now you can check out "decoding jun miutani's serve"
it is great thank
you
thnx coach..
Good job!
What racket does he have
I can produce a lot of spin in long serve but I can't do it while serving short. What should I do?
Try brushing more thinly.
Bro where did u come from ur too gud ♥️
GREAT!
I tried one of those tomahawk serves and chopped right into the table.
Great vid
Great
