    I so wish I had this sort of tutorial available 36 years or so ago (pre-internet era). Anyhow, it is what it is. Very well explained and presented sir.

      At the same time, everyone now knows the tricks since the information is readily available. Sort of a double edged sword. But, I agree, it's a plus in my eyes.

    Thank you so much! I´ve been struggling with the tomahawk for so long, but now i can finally do it really good. At first I tried to do the reverse tomahawk without watching this, then i watched it and I can already after only 1 hour of practicing do the normal tomahawk really good, and the reverse tomahawk pretty good. Thank you!

    Great video once again!
    Suggestion for future videos: Subscribers send in short video clips in parts of the game where they struggle and you can analyze it and hopefully find a solution to the problem. I, for example, am struggling a lot with the ghost serve and I know many others do too, so I think it would be a highly requested series :)

    Great video. I don't understand how some of the tomahawk serves are topspin while the ball is still being hit on the underside of the ball. It should at least be pure sidespin if you're hitting it at a 90 degree angle, no?

    Tomahawk serves allow one to make corkscrew serves. These balls tend to change direction a lot when they hit the table. Also , the ball can spin off in many different directions depending on what part of the ball the opponent hits. These are definitely tricker to return that brute force under spin.

    In the reverse pedulum, do you swing the racket in a straight line parallel with table's white line when you hit the ball ? I.e. do you hit the ball in the back? Or do you it somewhere between its back and sides?

      Tomahawk is one of my strongest and most deceptive serves but the major tradeof for me is simply that if I do it all the time I get tired and my play starts to deteriorate at the end of the set.
      It really takes a lot from your legs.

    Yoshimura's serve is illegal by ITTF guidelines and rules, it says that the ball must be visible at all times from the start of the serve till the ball contacts the blade, in his case, he hides the contact behind his big head thereby confusing his opponents.. it will soon be enforced in ITTF tournaments wit the addition of challenges to a call/serve and the 6 point slomo cameras as standard

    Great tutorial, but don't you think during reverse pendulum, you were tossing the ball towards yourself instead of a linear vertically upwards toss, i think your toss can cause a warning during matches.

    • @danfan4707
      @danfan4707 2 роки тому

      I agree... In the competition clips it was noticeable that the toss was far closer to "near vertical" than in the tutorial. Perhaps he has a low ceiling.
