I bought a 60 series with a 2H new 34 years ago. I still have it and still love it. What you have done with that one is amazing! I have always joked about walking into Toyota and saying “Another one of those please” Mine never looked as nice as yours. Well done and put me down for one. 🤠
i usually avoid painting over mating surfaces, sure it doesn't matter much. any reason why? or maybe just to keep the hard edges from chipping after a few years?
It's hard to say as I did the work myself and I have had all of the parts for many years. Engine work costs a lot these days best to get some idea's from an engine reco shop they would have a good idea of the cost. Thanks for watching. Simon.
@@toyopatrestorations1588 How did you go finding a crank that's wasn't cracked? I am in the early stages of the same job, but cant find a crank,, Did you just use the one in the motor from the start
@@chriswilkins2643 That engine really did not need to come apart as it had been fully rebuilt, along time ago but had not done many kms and ran perfectly, had great compression. It is going into a nut and bolt HJ47 restoration. I have never see a cracked 2H crank only heads. If you are in Brisbane contact Mr Landcruiser he may be able to help finding a good crank.

& not a chip in site..😍
do you have a code for the blue paint you used for the engine?
No unfortunately, just take a sample to a good paint shop and get them eye match it.
I didn’t know Toyota made motors like this.
I’m assuming it’s a Diesel engine for a truck?
It's for a Landcruiser
