My breakfast bowl genuinely does spark joy, and not just because I adore my first meal of the day. I also have a thing about handmade and 70s ceramics so most of my kitchenware is joyful and in full use.
You’re hilarious!! You totally made my morning!! I believe minimalism is what you make of it. Simple living, I guess that’s what I can call it. Like how you refer to it at the end of your video. That is so amazing that you got to visit a Buddhist monastery! It looked absolutely beautiful out there!
I want to be a minimalist because of: 1. I love everything to be tidy and organized 2. I want to save money for future 3. I want to stay healthy by having only 2 meals a day
Good points Robert, I've been thinking about this quite a bit lately as well. When I first adopted minimalism, I really felt drawn to the aesthetics. And I was impressed by people practicing extreme minimalism. But as time passed, I've come to see minimalism more as a philosophy that helps me to live with more intention. And less about looks or 'owning X items'. I think that's why I'm more drawn to 'slow living' these days, which seems to be more of an open norm, with fewer preconceived notions/looks that come with it.
This was funny! Ive been into minimalism for years and we all have our definition of minimalism, and definitely some are more extreme than others. This gives a great perspective! Awesome video, Robert! Love from Montreal Canada
I absolutely love your videos and keep re-watching them and re-watching them. I just enjoy your content your voice you’ll look you’re freaking awesome.
This was a great video to watch after watching a few of your other ones just to make sure I’m following these minimalist tips for the right reasons and not just do stuff just to later find myself confused what I really did it for in the first place
Love it, as always!❤ I MUST become more of a minimalist, it will give me more energy, time and peace of mind!!!! As a woman I like to have enough options when it comes to clothes... but I am working on it. Ooo by the way, I love my spoons, they are gold and spark joy 😉 Thanks for the video Robert!
I came across your vlog while looking for another vlogger...I stopped, watched and listened...ended up subscribing because I find you funny and interesting!

Thankyou Robert what you say makes sense, its freeing for me not to have self worth not tied into possessions, and less is definately more for me. I often think how older generations had alot less and were far happier, I am currently thinking about how i eliminated so much that i feel i have gone too far and i need to re address some balance. Oh us thinkers eh 🥺😳🤔🥴
Hola, Robert!
We moved from our house with a big garage full of toys to a small apartment. We then moved full time on a sailboat, If the object has no useful purpose it has no place on board.
As an architect, I can say that in the 1920s the modern movement exploded and embraced some kind of minimalism, and the greatest exampe was Mies Van der Rohe with his famous phrase: "Less is more". Have all of you a great day :)
I am the aesthetic minimalist, I hadn't thought about it before but when you described it I almost got offended and thats how I knew. Man I love this channel.
I understand somethings are trends but minimalism made sense to me cause I generally don't want alot stuff. And people do spend way to much money on crape they don't need when they could of used it for traveling instead or reiterment earlier.
I have to agree with Mai's comment below...I prefer a sub minimal lifestyle because I prefer my home to be clean, simple and organized. Living in this kind of environment, can reduce stress and increase productivity. And thats pretty much it, all the other reasons other people have don't apply to me.
And I live in a complex with older people and when they die. They leave hope until stuff behind. And they think that the family is going to want all the stuff and they don't want it.And it's such a burden for the family. When my friend died immediately, her son got and had a yard sale and threw out stuff and gave stuff away. And in two days everything was gone I think she hadn't even been buried
Minimalism: 1. Clean n Clutter free 2. Quality products in less quantity. 3. Eco-friendly, recycling products or waste, plant greenery. 4. Less cost living.. or costless living.
I am a miminalist. Where are your cables for the laptop and your earphone? I cannot keep my studio look that.. I mean like new move in status. I am still under experiencing minimalist life👷♀️
Hey buddy, the headphones are wireless and I just plug the laptop when it needs charge. If you don’t move your desk, you can tape the cable underneath the table, close to the wall that way you hide it! (Masking tape is better)
And then my other neighbor, his wife, died, and he Have so much stuff up to the ceiling. And now the landlord is saying get rid of it or we are going to kick you out because it is now causing a hazard to the other neighbors. If the place caught on fire, everybody else would be affected and there's mice coming out of his place and flies. And so it's crazy.. So by seeing all this and experiencing all of this in this last 4 years, I have been throwing away stuff and throwing away stuff. And it's been hard on me because I like the stuff that I bought and yet I know I won't use it so I have to let it go and i've been doing that to families that have come from ukraine
…and now those of us who enjoy a little comfort have cosy minimalism 🤣🤣 Seriously - common sense! Your Tibetan monk is saving himself a lot of other junk by having a very practical iphone, smart guy!! Isn‘t it just about needs v wants, maybe?
I had a car accident and I became a harder and having more stuff in my house didn't allow me to focus on the pain of the accident. And the fact that I had to have nurses basing me and people coming in and cooking for me. And now that I'm healing and getting better. I am throwing out the stuff that accumulated saying to myself. What an idiot?.

So, if I define myself as a minimalist, and my goal as the petrolhead is to own a supercar or even a sports car oneday, am I still a minimalist?
