Have made this and Chef John thank you. This was frnakly sublime. Arguably the best recipe yet, This is BETTER than regular southern fried chicken.
Oh Chef John your sense of humor is awesome.
You're the best chef John!
Looks yummy...I'll have to try making this...I've made many of your recipes, I have never been disappointed, you are a wonderful instructor.
Wow...that looks fabulous!
"How did I know it was dissolved? There wasn't any on the bottom." PURE GENIUS! LMFAO
I'm sure people comment dumb questions like this all the time. It seems recipes draw in the people that ask dumb questions
aha chef john is one intelligent humane being! i luuuv watchin his vids so comical been watchin for ever lmao
@kuteninja I cook a ton of it! Check the older videos. There's probably 50 or more.
I tries the spicy orange wings and they were so good! Absolutely delicious! Thanks chef john!
yay!! that looks delicious! ...and healthier too!
YOUR AWESOME CHEF JOHN!!!!
I butterflied my breasts and then stabbed it with a fork a couple of times and the breading stuck better and it cooked in less time. Lovely alternative.
+Artie Wagoner That's such a great idea.. thank you Artie
I was terrified until I realized your meant chicken breasts.
seven asses LOL.
more surface area means more flour on the chicken which means more oil absorption :)
Cool thanks for info.
I made this for me and my 4 year old for supper tonight. It was incredible! By far some of the best and most flavorful fried chicken I've ever prepared myself and the breading stuck to the breast like nobody's business. My daughter, picky eater that she can be, was all about this. I think it might be really tasty over that garlic and olive oil pasta dish Chef John did a video for (don't remember what it was called exactly).
Mike Thole can u taste the honey
@@Mariekr49 no, it's been a while since I made it, but I don't remember the honey really standing out in the flavor
aglio e olio? (sorry if i misspelt that)
Guy loves cayenne I think chef John would be a great teacher he makes everything seem easy and everything iv done has turned out great
I am going to have to try that!!!! I have never used a brine method before so this should be fun.
Yummm....can't wait to try this one out
That would go really good on a waffle, with some maple syrup.
Oh dear GOD this looks awesome!
Love how you brine the chicken - amazing how a brine can make poultry taste incredible! I dump in the spices in my flour too - more spice the better for me :)
CANT. STOP. WATCHING. HIS. VIDEOS. I need a 12-step program.
Outstanding.
your recipes is brilliant and really inspiring for me
Thanks for your effort of making these videos
not all people want to share such brilliant ideas

That looks absolutely delicious!!
I love watching these videos
OMG thank you thank you. Made this with rice & peas and it was amazing!
Alright John...I made this for my family tonight. This is THE BEST CHICKEN I HAVE EVER MADE...EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am surrounded by admirers now, LOL. I served the chicken with a crusty multi~grain bagette, zucchini sauteed in olive oil with garlic and topped with shaved parm. A little drizzle of hoisin sauce put this over the top delicious. Thanks you so very much posting this recipe. I love your work! Keep the vids coming!
That look SO GOOD!!
Looks lush
I don't even wait to watch the whole video anymore. I "like" it when it first starts. I still watch the whole video, I just don't wait to click the like button.
Looks fabulous I bet it is tasty!!Thanks Chef John
This is amazing.
wow this looks amazing!
yay!! that looks delicious!
Excellent!!
Wow, this is the first foodwishes video that Ive seen that actually had a conflict and a resolution. I was on the edge of my seat there. I'm glad there was a happy ending. Oscar nominations 2012
Great explanation. I've looked at several brining videos. This was most helpful to me. I'm not frying......I'm baking my breast sealed in a big cast iron pot. Thanks.
looks so delicious! I have to try this!
I just cooked this thinking I had nothing to learn making fried chicken. I was wrong and forever changed for the better. This is the MOST moist fried chicken I've ever eaten! I used green banana flour instead of traditional because I'm one of those no wheat weirdos. It browns slightly faster, but gets very crispy and has no flavor. I left the skin on because I love it. Very nice recipe. Now that your creme fraiche is a staple in my fridge I always have extra buttermilk. I served it with boiled mashed turnips and browned butter broccoli. In the past I never would have fried chicken breast unless I cut it into a small dice , so I wouldn't dry it out. You've made me a better wife Chef John.
Actually? I was going to say it didn't look like enough cayenne.
replace the amount of flour needed with Cayenne
good job as usual dude, thanx 4 the idea
Went and bought all the stuff I need for this recipe. I'm definitely making this tonight.
Green Butterfly How'd it turn out?
it looks so mouth watering.....
I make this all the time the brine makes the chicken so good and juicy. You da man chef john
MAN THAT LOOKS GOOD!!!!!!!
I'm always looking forward to the "enjoy" in the end.
I always fry chicken or pork chops with a thin coating of flour. It never burns. It is better to turn in several times, it keeps the coating from burning.
Yep that definitely made me hungry...
wow that looks good!
looks sooo tasty!
Certainly like the looks of that!
Awesome Voice, awesome food!
Thank you, John.
Wow that looks so delicious.
awesome!!!
Yass!
I made this today. It was the best chicken I've ever made.
Looks delicious
Fried chicken is always good
You sir, just made my day
That looks absolutely delicious like always. I've never tried brining. I thought a brine had to be that nasty crap you find with like, canned sea food. Thank you for educating the ignorant me.
I MUST COOK THIS.
Amazing as,Always John. I ♡🐔 .😊
you are a god chef john
oh my god i was drooling the whle video ..i must make this i must ..tough i cant staaand to wait like 15 minute to sit and stuff ill try!! I MUST!
Looks so good! When I fry chicken like this I butterfly the breast for quicker & more even cooking. However, I must try the brine as i've never done that.
@terrydactyl
nope, took exactly the same amount of time the skin just added extra protection for the meat inside.
it was a dope recipe all in all.
I fry skinless boneless chicken breast regularly, without putting in a brine and it works great. I put it in floor then egg then bread crumbs it works great.
I thought you didn't trust seasoned flour! lol! Looks awesome! I'll definitely try this.
my mouth is watering....never watch this channel while hungry.
i did it the day you uploaded which was pretty long ago and it was really good
@hanphilip Heavy cream, I would guess would be a alternative. But, buttermilk is naturally fermented and has an amazing flavor for southern cooking.
Funnily enough, this is very similar to how I usually do this anyway. Never looked up a recipe beforehand, just gave it a go. The chicken comes out super tender.
More cayenne! Beautiful chicken!😻
i love your videos!!!!!!!!!!!
That's very true.
I am on a weight training diet and this is perfect as I miss fried chicken. Prepared this was is a great compromise.
@mwells219 thanks for the info, I will give it a try this weekend.
-drool- why do I always find you videos late at night?!
Grudgingly liking this abhorrence to the fat and cal loaded tasty goodness that is fried chicken purely on the basis of the mastery of its cooking. Chef John remains...awesome.
Thank God! I have completely run out of ideas for chicken breast----- I was on the verge of slathering them in buttercream frosting just to shake things up a bit.
Thanx!
Do you have a vid on how to make the spicy orange chicken glaze??? It looks great!!!
Yummy!
I made this and it was amazing! Could you brine some chicken before grilling it? Thanks
omgoodness why do i have to see this 2:30 in the morning...chef john, you are always responsible for my extreme salivation.
my gosh that looks soooo yummy- licious! i gotta try this and soon : )
This looks soooo good... It's 9 AM and I'm hungry as a shrew.
oh i'm going to make this tonight with my love. this had better work!!! :)
I loled when you said "we're using boneless, skinless chicken breast, we're breakin' all the rules!" Looks good too.
@DarkPro yessssss
@idunnoproductionzz yeah
well, if I try, I'll give it a thicker crust and throw in a little panko ;)
thanks for the info!
Happy Friday!
