Thanks for the honest review. All the reviews I've seen give all positive comments and praise this device but you seem to be more transparent about it. Have you reviewed the SRS XV800? It has a better, more powerful sound, apparently and, therefore, may be better for live concert use, so to speak :-)
sony party connect requires models that support party connect, xv500 is, i bet the other isn't. stereo pair requires the same exact model, colour option can differ but not model.
The other one came with the same instructions, but perhaps they've changed the standards since this started about 4 years ago. Thanks for the information, though! I've never actually seen any info on how all of that is supposed to work, just that it never has for me.
@ProductImpressions every sony speaker from the last 3 /4 years should be compatible for party pairing (except xb12/13/100) , so xb23/33/43, xe200/300, Xg300/500, XP500/700, xv800/900. That's 12 speakers. afaik no other companies offers more compatible party mode speakers! JBL e.g., only like about half of their current speakers support their party mode (e.g. none of their party boxes do, the only support tws or pairing 2 party boxes in party mode). So the pairing possibilities is actually a strength of Sony, they are ahead of every other company in that respect.
@@TL.... It could work if you're just interested in a Bluetooth speaker that you can run a cheap microphone I to for a one-off event. Otherwise, I think you're probably better off looking elsewhere.
@@ProductImpressions i would need a speaker for my backyard to play music on the weekends - i live just outside of toronto in an undeveloped area and my nearest neighbour is probably 500-600 meters away. Microphone and lights not necessary, just something loud with a fast response to handle 140bpm dance music - price is not an issue. i am reading conflicting reviews online for soundboks 3, soundboks 4, partybox 1000, etc

I haven't had a chance to review that speaker, but perhaps if they filled out the low end it could make a difference.

I have the srs 500. When its unplugged it sounds 20% less loud. Is it the same with this upgrade?
@@xt5459 I didn't notice any difference in volume when plugged in or not.
@@ProductImpressions nice! Thank you !
Sony products are very substandard nowadays, make distance from Sony, if any queries I will provide the details
