Early scenes of the Berlin Wall, filmed during the construction of the Wall on August 13, 1961. The wall did not only separate the city, but also families who wave to each other over the wall in the first few months. GDR head of state and party leader Walter Ulbricht can also be seen and heard. How people having accepted or even encouraged this still call themselves the righteous ones in WWII, I shall never understand!
I feel sick that the then government of France accepted this and never asked for forgiveness since !

It was no question of acceptance. Nobody in West-Germany and amoung the NATO allies wanted to risk a third world war because of this wall.
